Retirement Looks Good On Stormy

Well, it’s time.  It’s time to bid Stormy farewell after spending 10 weeks together.  Stormy’s inmate trainer says that leading up to graduation they worked on the “bow” command and she caught on very quickly.  She did great with her final test getting 10’s across the board!

Stormy’s trainer says that he hopes her new family enjoys spending time with this girl as much as he did. She’ll brighten any room she enters and bring smiles to all those around her.  He believes retirement is going to suit her nicely!

Swap Week Sweetie

Stormy was an absolute pleasure to spend time with during swap week! She is completely and utterly adorable and has a top notch personality. She did not exhibit any signs of separation anxiety at all this week, which leads us to believe that the transition to her forever home will go flawlessly and smoothly. Stormy has just enough energy to make play time fun and just enough presence of mind enough to know when play time is over.

She performed all of her commands impeccably and absolutely LOVES kibble, which makes training a total breeze.

Stormy is an incredibly sweet and loving lil gal who is going to make an incredible addition to your forever home. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt this sassy little lady will not be disappointed!

Sugar, spice, everything nice

This week, Stormy and her training team have started to work on "bow." She is slowly but surely starting to understand what is expected of her when the mystical incantation is spoken. She is seriously such a wonderful dog. She loves to play, but is also super gentle and laid-back - the charming duality of the greyhound. Stormy's trainers have relished the opportunity to train her, and you'll relish the opportunity to love this sweet gorgeous girl every day!

Amazing Girl

Stormy has learned “paws up” this week and they are working on a few other extra commands to add to her list as well.  Her inmate trainer says that he is going to truly miss this amazing girl when she leaves for her forever home.

Next week is swap week where the inmates swap dogs to see how the dogs respond to others giving commands and how they do with alternate trainers.  He says it’s hard to believe that graduation is right around the corner!

She's got sunshine on a Stormy day

Hi everybody, Stormy here! I'm progressing every week and have finally come out of my shy little shell that I was in when I was first brought here. I love to play with rubber Kong toys and I'm a very happy dog - whoever adopts me, you'll love me, I promise! I can't wait to see the rest of the world with my forever family! Did I mention I'm cute, too? Cause I'm super cute, and you're sure to get lots of compliments and smiles from friendly strangers when you take me on adventures.

Until next time, take care! Stormy out.

Happy And Carefree Gal

Stormy has improved so much this week!  At Show & Tell she got all 10s on her commands except for “down” which is a work in progress.  After Show & Tell she hung out in the training room with her inmate trainer and out of nowhere started playing with toys!  After about 3 mins she finished her toy play and lay down to relax a while.

Stormy’s inmate trainer plans to start working on extra commands to keep things exciting and fun.  Her inmate trainer says that watching her play in the big yard is a real treat!  The sun shines off her fur enhancing her beauty.  She loves to run and play so happy and carefree.

Certified Sweetie!

Well, it's week 4, and sweet miss Stormy SAT for the first time ever this week! It was so exciting to see her sit all by herself. Stormy has really come out of her shell. She loves to go up to people and give them greyhound hugs and love on them. Then she comes back even more full of love! Stormy really brings so much joy to people - everyone loves to visit with her.

Stormy has also improved significantly on her commands. She learned how to jump, and although she was a little unsure at first, she realized it was safe to practice. Then, out of nowhere, she jumped right up and then back down! From that moment on, she had it mastered.

After she worked on jump, her next quest was to conquer the stairs. She had no problem walking up and down them. And next week she'll start working on down! She's doing so well that it doesn't even feel like week 4 - surely it must be week 10 given the progress she's made already! She is the best dog her trainer has ever met, and you won't just be getting a best friend when you adopt this cutie pie - you'll get a family member. There is NO WAY you can't fall in love with her. It's been scientifically proven!

Blossoming

Hello, it's Stormy again! This week I got better at "stay" and also with waiting at doors. This week was the first time I did show and tell, and apparently I did very well for my first time in front of everyone! I was a little unsure, but my trainer helped me get out of being shy. Then we went to the playroom to run around and I got to chew on my FAVORITE rope while I was relaxing on the bed. Then we got up and I went to my kennel so I could nap before dinner.

On Saturday, Miss Patti came to visit and get did all of our commands in front of her. After I did mine, she said I did good for my first time! Then we went to play in the yard and I had a blast. It was a big day for me, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for tuning in this week, and be sure to check back next week and see if I still love chewing on my favorite rope! (Spoiler alert: I definitely will).

Calm, Collected and CUTE!

Hello there! Stormy is doing very well. She went up stairs this week with no problems and she is also doing great with sit and stay. She is opening up more and more, and is really just so laid back and sweet. She loves to run and be loved on. She did wonderfully with leash-walking and wait. She is sure to bring you joy every time you are around her. She will make such a great addition to your pack!  Ready to add one more?

Here Comes Stormy!

Hello, future fans of Stormy! Stormy and her trainer have been getting to know each other for the past several days and she is just the sweetest thing he's come into contact with. She is learning very fast even though she is a little shy and alert about everything. She LOVES to run in the big yard. She is a little unsure about toys right now, but she likes to lay in the kennel and look around.

When she arrived, she got a bath, her ears cleaned, and her teeth brushed. She didn't mind that - and actually seemed to enjoy it! Now she is learning how to wait at the door and walk on a leash. She is doing so well! Her trainer named her Stormy because of the mysterious look on her face, plus her beautiful, dark brindle pattern. And this beautiful girl responds well to her beautiful name! Tune in next week and learn more about beautiful Stormy!  Did I say she's beautiful?
