Ready For Retirement Life

For Swap Week Mac spent some time with an alternate inmate handler.  What’s Swap Week you ask?  Well, it’s the time in the training program where the inmate training teams swap dogs.  It helps them work on any problem areas such as a difficult command or if the pup is missing being away from his/her primary trainer.

Wonder how Mac did?  Well his alternate inmate trainer says that Mac loves to chill out on his bed and didn’t have any problems performing his commands.  Oh, and you should know that if he’s hanging out on his bed and you’re near, he’s gonna roll onto his side so you can rub his belly.

One Look And You're Hooked!

Mac is doing great!  He’s not having any problems with his commands.  His inmate trainer says that it’s hard to believe that training will come to an end soon.  They will continue to go over all the commands to keep them fresh and having fun is key! Mac’s inmate trainer says that Mac is joy to be around! He’s friendly and outgoing.  He loves attention and it’s not hard to give it to him!  One look and you’re hooked!

Happy-Go-Lucky

It has been another week of leaps and bounds for Mac. This week the secondaries performed show and tail, and Mac did great. They are still ironing some things out, but he does know it and will be ready for final testing.

Mac is still his “happy-go-lucky” self and he maintains his poise as much as he can. His trainers say he is a really lovable dog and he is going to make a great pet to a lucky family. They hate that he has to leave soon…

Come On. Let's Play!

Mac is progressing nicely.  His inmate trainer says that he’s picked up on all his command with no problem and knows many of the with both verbal and hand signal cues.  His inmate trainer says that he plans to continue fine tuning Mac’s response times and working on the few he’s slow to respond to (sit, down, stay and jump). Playing is also going to be at the top of their list.  This shouldn’t be any problem since he loves to play.

Show and Tail

This has been an exciting week for Mac, and he is progressing so well . His trainer could not be more proud of him. This week he learned the jump command, and also started working on the down command. His training team is still shaping him on his sitting posture to make sure he does it correctly. He is an awesome dog to work with and has so much curiosity for certain sounds and people. He loves all people and other dogs a great deal. They had their first “Show and Tail” and he did such a great job this past Thursday! Until next week, see you later!

Improving By The Day

What a fun week for Mac. He got to run on the big yard for the first time and loved it. He is getting used to his new surroundings and all the people at Jenkins. His trainer taught him “sit” and now he is doing it on his own.

This week was the first show and tell with this group and Mac did great on most of his commands. His trainer is proud at how he has progressed over the past few weeks. He gets better and better by the week.

Mac Will "Rock You Like A Hurricane"

This has been an exciting week for Mac. He is understanding his commands that have been introduced to him. They are still a work in progress, but he is getting better with the follow through each day. He is a very smart and lovable dog. He shows his human a lot of affection.

This week the dogs will get to make their first run on the big yard and Mac’s trainer will let you know how he does. More updates next week.

Time To Investigate

It’s been a great week for Mac!  His inmate trainer says that Mac has been adapting and responding to his new surroundings in a positive way.  He’s picking up on commands with a nice slow and steady pace.  He’s a curious dog who likes to smell and investigate everything!

Mac’s a friendly guy and intuitive on the same token.  When he sees other people or when it’s feeding time, he is steadily wagging his tail!

Let The Training Begin

Mac has arrived at Jenkins and is getting used to his new surroundings. He is a very beautiful brindle boy and a “happy-go-lucky” type. He’s also curious, wanting to check out everything. Everything is totally new to him.

When Mac first arrived, his trainers gave him a bath and he took to that very well and didn’t mind getting his ears cleaned, nails trimmed and fur brushed. His trainer is looking forward to the coming weeks with Mac. Check back next week on his progress.
