Bowtie Is The Best!

Bowtie only has a few days left in the training program!  Her inmate trainer says that he hopes her new family is excited about their new family member!  Her trainer says that it’s going to be really hard to say Goodbye, but knowing she’s getting a forever home helps.  He says that Bowtie is the best dog he’s trained and her personality and cuteness will forever be with him.

After passing her final test with unrivaled excellence, Bowtie has been rewarded with fun and relaxation.  She has also taken more interest in toys lately.  She loves belly rubs and enjoys learning new things when treats are offered.

Sitting Pretty

One of the training teams during swap week got to spend their time with Bow. This was to see how well she did with another team, but also to see if she has separation anxiety and to make sure that she will do her commands for other people. All he has to ask you, forever family, is... Are you looking for a dog who is not only brilliant, but eager to please and very loving? If so, look no further!

There is nothing that Bow enjoys more than performing. Well, except for being petted and rubbed. She's a very, very loving dog, and will rub against your leg or hand as long as you will let her. She loves to try to get people to pet her, rub her belly, and scratch the sides of her neck. She enjoys doing commands, especially for tasty treats. Two of her favorite commands are sit and bed. She will perform a sit on her own a lot and look up at you like, Hey! Look at me! I am sitting, so where is my treat? If she sees a bed anywhere in the day room, she will go straight to it and lie right down. Do whatever you want after that, because she will be comfortable relaxing on it for a while. She sure is something else, and a dog who you will enjoy having in your home and your life - get ready for Bow to burrow right into your heart!

How About A Belly Rub?

Bow’s alternate trainer is excited to write about her this week. He said she is his favorite dog so far, out of all of the ones they have had on their training team. He can’t say enough good things about her. You couldn’t ask for a better greyhound. His first impression of her was, “ she’s a very cute and darling dog, shyly looking around at everything. Taking in all the new sights, sounds and smells. She is small, but full of adventure.

Bow is almost all black with white on her nose, toes and chest. Very beautiful! He knew they were going to have lots of fun together. Her personality is a sweet as can be. She is quiet, yet curious and loves affection. She slowly approaches everyone, hoping to be petted. She loves belly rubs and will roll on her side every time she gets on a dog bed. Curious Cutie

Bow had such a great week! She can do all the basic commands, and now it's just a matter of fine-tuning each of them so that she will do them on the first try and for anyone. She is a great dog and enjoys getting all of the attention possible. She is laid-back, but also playful when the time is right. They started stair training this week and she had no problems performing that. She is so curious and wants to explore everything! She enjoys her training sessions and learning, and it helps that she's so smart. You can really tell just by watching her that there is a lot going on in that greyhound head. She also enjoys to be petted and will always come back for more. She is going to dazzle her new family, come graduation day!

Bed Inspector!

Bow has had a great and exciting week. She now sits, stays, beds, weights, heels, hears, releases, and kennels! She started jump and stairs yesterday and seems to not have any problems with them. They have not started on down yet, as it is the most difficult for greyhounds. Her trainer said that he would like at least another week before they work on that so that she can get even better at sitting and build up her confidence. Some dogs will sit then go straight into a down if you teach them both commands together, so her trainer is trying to wait a few weeks before he tries down so that she also is able to differentiate between the two. She is so smart and learns so quickly, and she enjoys all of her training sessions. She really enjoys lying on her bed and can't seem to go by one without trying to lay on it! She has a wonderful personality and her trainer is so grateful for the chance to train this special girl.

"Bed" Master

Bow has had a wonderful week! She is so smart and learns very easily. She enjoys all her training sessions and is right where she should be at week 2. She “sits” and does “bed” like a pro. If there’s a bed in view, Bow heads straight for it. Her trainer has found no aggressive behaviors towards anything. She is a very social girl and has never met a stranger. If someone comes up to her, she will lay down, raise her leg, hoping for a belly rub. Bow is an easy going, laid back kind of girl. Her trainer is enjoying the time with her. He’s only spent a couple weeks with her, but he already feels the love she gives. Soon Bow Tie can share the love with you!

Charming Your Socks Off

Bow Tie is such a sweet dog! Her trainer has only had her for a week and he has already fallen in love with her. She is a small, gorgeous dog with a lovable and laid back personality. She is acclimating well to her new environment and enjoys charming the socks off everyone she meets. Her trainer has not found any aggressive behaviors towards anything whatsoever, and she mostly enjoys just lying on her bed.

She is still curious about everything, so she roams around, discovering all sorts of new things. She is so smart and her trainer can already tell that she will have no problems learning her commands. She enjoys her training sessions and gobbles up all the attention she can get!

Bow Tie will make a wonderful companion for anyone – she loves treats and when she realizes she gets them for doing what you want her to do, she will keep doing them to get those treats!
