Loves To Sleep

Nala is a very sweet and loving dog. She is very calm and loves to sleep. She does well with people and other dogs. She loves to run with the other dogs but tends to bump into them and cut them off. Could this be why sweet Nala retired from racing?

Nala is a little picky in the mornings about eating. She won’t eat all her food. She likes to wait and eat it a little later.

Nala knows all of her basic commands and has learned some extra tricks too. She knows “Spin,” “Bounce” and “Bang Bang” very well and is working on a couple more too.

Nala is very laid back and plays sometimes. She does great with other dogs and people, but isn’t a fan of getting hugged around the head. Lately, Nala has been a picky eater and won’t eat her breakfast for a while when it is first given to her, but does eventually eat.

Nala knows all but one of her basic commands. She has not learned how to “Jump,” but hopefully soon. She is learning a few extra tricks such as “Spin,” “Bang-Bang” and “Kiss.”

Toy Thief

Nala is doing so well in her new environment at Pulaski. She likes to lay around a lot, but every now and then she likes to play with the other dogs.

She is doing well on the leash. Nala ran for the first time this week and she is very fast. You could tell she was so happy to be able to get up and go. It’s so much fun to see them run.

Nala’s training has gone really well this week and she is very treat-motivated, which makes training a lot easier. She knows most of her basic commands such as “Hurry,” “Let’s Go,” and “Sit” to name a few. She is learning a couple extras,“Paw Up” and “Spin.” Nala is the cutest little toy hoarder. She loves to take all of them to her kennel and hide them.

Bananas For Nala

Nala is adjusting very well since she’s arrived at Pulaski, and is becoming more friendly with all the people there by the day.  Nala has got a mind of her own, but she is still taking to training very well.  It’s probably because of how much she loves chances to earn her favorite treats – banana, peanut butter, and peppermint!

Nala absolutely LOVES toys!  When the other dogs aren’t looking, she will grab a toy that they had been playing with, and run off to hide it in her kennel.  No such thing as too many toys for this girl.
