Sweetheart!

Yah Yah has spent the majority of the past few days in a playful mood.  Almost as if she knows she’s heading to a new place… her forever home. A place with lots of toys, beds, treats and endless amounts of love and attention.  

Yah Yah’s trainer said she learned all of her commands well  and he feels she will not have any trouble doing them for her new family. She is a little shy around new people at first, but her trust is easily gained through affection and bonding. She enjoys all the petting and love you can give her.  She loves to be around her humans as much as possible.  She’s a velcro girl and a real sweetheart!

She's A Keeper!

This week was swap week for the pups. This is where they are with another trainer for the week to see how they adjust to their new home. How they do taking commands from someone else, besides their every day trainer, and to see if they have any separation anxiety. YahYah was a bit timid at the beginning of the week, but quickly came out of her shell. She performed all of ther commands for him with the proficiency expected from a SCG hound. She absolutely LOVES toys, especially ones with squeakers. He did not notice any signs of separation anxiety for YahYah. If anything, he said he would end up having SA from giving her back!

Yah Yah will make a great addition to any family and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! She’s a keeper for sure.

Easy-going Gal

Yahyah is such an easy dog to train! She loves to go through her commands every day and really enjoys her play time after a good training session. She is a real pleasure to work with and is whip smart, loving, and eager to please. She went up and down the stairs this week like she’d been doing it her whole life.

Hurricane Michael came through this week - he was packing some pretty strong winds and heavy rains, but she slept right through it like it was background noise on a normal night. What a perfect girl! And she’s waiting for you. Only 2 more looooong weeks…

Kibble and Praise for this Sweet Girl

Yahyah has been so fun and incredible to work with! Her trainer has discovered that she loves getting her belly rubbed. Yahyah is so easy to excite. Her trainer took her to play inside the training room and they practiced her favorite game, the “here” game. That’s her favorite command. First, he gives her the command “bed” and of course she lies on the bed. Then he walks away and circles the room. Then he surprises her with a “here!” And when she comes to him, she gets rewarded with kibble AND praise. She exudes so much happiness and joy whenever she plays. She has been working so hard since day one and her trainer could not be prouder of her than he already is. She knows how to perfectly walk up and down stairs, and she even enjoys it. Yahyah is a walking beacon of light and an absolute miracle. This sweet girl is the best!

Greyt Pick

Yah Yah’s secondary trainer has been working with her for a few weeks now. He said she is such a loving dog, smart and cute to boot! She has a great personality and very good manners; Thanks to the training she is receiving at Second Chance Greyhounds Academy for higher learning. Yah Yah also knows all of her commands very well. “Jump” needs a little bit of improvement, but she has come a long way, since her first try at it. Her trainers focused on “jump” this week. They go through all her commands daily and she aims to please her humans. He said it has been a pleasure working with this sweet loving and smart girl!

After training is over, it’s playtime! She loves her toys and is as gentle as a baby when asked to “give” up the toy. Yah Yah is going to be a greyt companion for any family. Whoever adopts this sweet girl is in for a real treat. You are getting a wonderful greyhound!

She Loves You (Yeah, yeah yeah!)

Yah Yah is improving more and more every day! She knows how to down and stay at the same time, and she enjoys doing all of her basic commands. When it's time to practice, she gets very excited. 

Yah Yah loves peanut butter so much; her trainer takes a little bit of kibble and mixes it in with some peanut butter, and she loves having it as a special treat. She had another session of show and tell and she did so well - she got so many compliments! 

Yah Yah also loves to run and play - her trainer hopes that wherever this girl lands has a big yard for her to run around in! She is such a great dog and an amazing friend to have around. She is so full of love!

Yeah yeah, I know I'm cute!

Welcome back to another exciting week with Yah Yah! This happy girl is ready to jump into your car and steal your heart! She loves that command. Yah Yah has done a great job at show and tell this week. After she showed her stuff, she got tons of applause! She is such a people pleaser. Her friend Charger plays right along beside her all the time and they even share toys.

Yah Yah finally learned her final command: down. Now that she knows it, she has so much fun doing it! Yah Yah knows all of her commands now and is just working on stair training. She is getting better and better with that.

Yah Yah also has a birthday coming up soon! She will be eating a peanut butter kibble cake topped with a marshmallow to celebrate. Her tail is always wagging, and it’s gonna wag so fast she may take flight when she sees her birthday cake!

Next Best Friend

Yah Yah has accomplished so much this past week. Some of the ladies came to see how the dogs are performing their commands. Yah Yah did great! She is catching on to what is expected of her and she will have all her basic commands down pat in no time. Stair training was also introduced and she seems to be catching on very quickly. She is such a good listener. When you say “Yah Yah” she turns and looks right at you.

Yah Yah has a best friend named Charger. They play together and get along great. They even share toys! It’s so cute to watch them.. Maybe it’s love…

Next week on to the “down” command. Yah Yah and her trainer are going to have so much fun! See ya later!

Brilliant Girl

Welcome back to another update on Yah Yah! Yah Yah is really opening up and is going to make such an outstanding student with all of her commands. She loves the bed command, of course, as all greyhounds do. Her trainer was doing a session with her and before they got started, he gave the bed command and she knocked it outta the park! Then, the “here” command was next, and she went right up to her trainer. He even had a special bite-sized treat ready to reward her!

Yah Yah finally had the chance to go running on the big yard and did so well running with a few of the other dogs. Yah Yah had so much fun and is so fast! She is learning so quickly and is going to make her forever family incredibly happy. Yah Yah is the sweetest little thing and will do well around other animals, adults, and children. Sweet, petite Yah Yah

Yah Yahhas arrived for training!  Her inmate trainer says that Yah Yah is a very affectionate girl who loves her kibble! She’s settling into her new environment well and is very comfortable inside her kennel.  She’ll cover her head with the pillow and it’s absolutely adorable! 

Yah Yah knows her name and will make direct eye contact with her inmate trainer when he says it.  She loves to be around the other dogs and believes that all things should be investigated.  Making new friends are top of her list!  Her inmate trainer says that he’s looking forward to the coming weeks with this sweet girl!
