Love At First Sight

Hello Dallie Fans!  Last week was swap week and Dallie's trainer is happy to say she was a complete angel.  No separation anxiety and she followed through with her commands.  Her trainer said it was hard to stay away from her for a whole week and he's happy to have her back.

Dallie's last days at the prison will be spent playing and getting lots of love from her trainer, as she prepares for her new adventure... forever home.  Get ready for a lovable young lady that is sweet as the days are long.  You are going to enjoy Darling Dallie and she is going to be a great addition to your family.

Adorable Dallie

This week is swap week for the greyhounds.  One of the primary trainers had the pleasure of playing step-daddy to one of the cutest dogs in the program, "Dallie."  She is what one would consider an old soul.  She is not down with all the hoopla that life will most certainly place on your doorstep from time to time.  Instead, she chooses to take things as they come, with minimal fuss.  Her swap week trainer says "who doesn't love a girl who is low maintenance...  am I right??"

Dallie does her commands for him no problem, but he gets the feeling they are done with an inner sigh to herself as if to say "oookayy".  Her only hiccup is with "jump".  She is unmotivated to jump up on things, but when you coax her enough she will do it.  In her mind she is thinking frogs jump, greyhounds run, and she is no frog, just 100% grade "A" greyhound baby!

Bowin' and Powin'

Well, it's been another great week with Miss Dallie! She nailed all of her commands easly during her weekly testing session and she's even learning some extras bow (stretches and drops only her front paws) and pow (while in down or in a bed position, simulation a punch from several feet away and she'll slowly fall on her side and play possum). The bow command complements her debutante demeanor and pow complements her playful side. After all, she's only three years old! She's got lots of playing left to do.

Since she has been doing so well, she has been rewarded with more love and affection while being out in the dorm and lying on a bed. Of course, she loves it - this really brings out how gentle, affectionate and loving she is. Our precious Dilly Dallie will bless her adoptive family with a wagging tail every time they come home, and get to unwind with this sweet gal.

Beautiful Princess

Dallie, a beautiful white princess, that brings joy to her trainer's life every day.  Her personality ranges from a young debutante to a playful 3 year old child, that keeps her trainer laughing and smiling all the time.

Dallie does all of her commands, including jump and stairs without difficulty.  She sometimes has to be in the mood, so her trainer has turned training into a game by giving Dallie lots of love and praise for each command followed by a session of "chase the trainer" around the training room.  It is working great!  Her trainer said she is the most loving and loyal greyhound he has trained so far.  He will definitely miss her.

Kong + Peanut Butter = Heaven

Hey Dallie fans!  It's been another fun-filled week with Dallie as a best friend.  Her trainer will hone all of her basic commands and improve duration and distance with each one.  She is becoming more playful with her trainer as the days go by, but still has no interest in toys and doesn't know what to think of the squeaky ones.  Her trainer continues to encourage her in hopes that she will figure out that they are pretty fun to play with.

Dallie really enjoys chew toys like nyla-bones and Kongs when she is in her kennel. Throw some peanut butter and treats in one and she's in heaven.  Dallie is such a wonderful and loving girl and she never fails to brighten her trainer's day.

Absolute Sweetheart

It's been a terrific week for Dallie! She is finally mastering her commands and does all of the basics, even jump. Of course, she would still rather be doing other things, but she knows that she doesn't get to play till the work is done. She's becoming more open about playing, although she's still pretty indifferent to toys. Maybe some of the other hounds can show her how insanely fun they are!

Dallie is so gentle and loving with everyone she meets. Her tail is always wagging and is going to make a wonderful addition to the family lucky enough to welcome her into their hearts.

Lovable Darling Dallie

It's been an interesting week with darling Dallie.  She has unleashed a mild form of "talk to the hand" attitude when asked to "down".  She will turn her head as if to say, "I have no time for this silly command - let's go play!" LOL! Her trainer has nipped this "Dallieness" by denying her the love and affection that she dearly craves from everyone in the dorm, which by the way, punishes all of the inmates because she is sooooo lovable.  It worked though, and Dallie is back on track and doing a great job learning her basic commands.

You will never have a bad day with Dallie by your side.  She's a tail-wagging, lay her head on your lap, fun-loving dog.  If your family is looking for a greyhound that loves to be loved on, and can't get enough, then Dallie is your gal.

Hugs for Days

It's week number two with this wonderful dog! Dallie is becoming more relaxed in her new surroundings and with her new daily routine. She's learning new behaviors like downing for food, waiting when told, walking at a person's pace instead of hers. She's not aggressive with her food or with other dogs, and she isn't territorial at all. She's not very treat-motivated but she LOVES verbal and physical praise - so that's the reward she gets for doing her commands correctly! She's very laid back and gentle and loves to meet new people. She's a good learner, but stubborn when she has had enough (where are my hugs and head rubs!?). Dallie is still not showing much interest in toys, but that might change once she gets more relaxed here.

Happy-Go-Lucky Gal

Look out, everyone - this sweet, beautiful, white Greyhound is going to trot right into your heart, tail wagging and head up high. Dallie is an enthusiastic, obedient and loving dog who doesn't appear to have ever had a bad day! Her fur is as soft as a six-week-old puppy and she shows no signs of aggression/possessiveness with her food or her kennel. She loves to be out and about meeting her fellow hound classmates and the other trainers in the dorm. She is very well-mannered and gentle when meeting someone for the first time.

And now it's time to start training this sweetheart! By the end of her 10-week semester at Second Chance Academy, she will have melted every heart in the dorm. If you are looking for a Greyhound that will bring unbridled joy and laughter to your family every day, then Dallie is for you!
