It's Graduation Time!

It’s been a greyt 10 week session with Mr. Wilder! He had his head held high from the minute he walked off the truck and never looked back. He learned his 13 basic commands quickly and with ease, so his trainers taught him a few extra commands that he can add to his resume: Shake, paws-up and spin. He knows them all with verbal and hand signal cues. He’s a smart boy!

Wilder is amazingly loving and playful by nature. You are doing to fall head over heals in love with him. His trainer is sure he will make a great addition at his forever home. The time has come to meet Wilder!

All Around Spectacular Hound

Hey y’all! Here at Jenkins Kennel Club, this week is known as swap week! This is when all 16 training teams swap dogs for the week. We do this to test for separation anxiety, to see how the dogs behave with new people, and to make sure they will respond to commands from other people than the primary trainer. Wilder’s swap week trainer had a fantastic week with him and has only good things to say about this handsome devil! He showed no signs of separation anxiety and performed all of his basic commands for a total stranger with no hesitation. He is a very smart dog and is extremely attentive. He loves to play with his toys. Give one a toss and he’s ready to go. His swap week trainer’s favorite thing about him is this super cute thing he does where he tucks his head between your arm and your side for snuggles. He just stands there calm as could be and smiles.

Wilder is a truly an amazing greyhound and his swap week trainer loved every minute he got to spend with this hunk. He’s going to make some lucky family very happy!

Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing!

Wilder is doing great! He is so intelligent and has learned all of his basic commands within the first few of weeks, so now he’s learning extras like paws up, spin and shake. Besides being a smart boy, he is also loving and playful. He seems to have an unlimited amount of energy playing with squeaky toys, teasing and shaking them for as long as you’ll let him, but calms easily after playtime is over. Wilder loves everyone; he goes from person to person collecting neck rubs and ear scratches and attention. He is going to make his new family so happy with his sweet personality and brilliant mind!

Spin, Spin, Spin

Hello humans!  Another week in my life….  I’ve learned how to get more treats this week!  My inmate trainer calls them extra commands.  My favorite is “spin.”  Now get this, any time I spin in a circle I get a treat!  I mean, hello…  spinning is fun anyway and now I get a treat for it?!!  Yes, I’m in!!

You should also know that I know most all of my commands with both verbal and hand signal cues. I’m interested in seeing what this trainer of mine has in mind next.  It all involves treats so I’m interested.

Tail Wagging, Happy Grey!

Wilder is the man! He’s the most fun-loving greyhound that his trainer has ever worked with, and he’s trained quite a few. Wilder loves playing with toys and playing fetch. He loves running with the other dogs, plays well with them, and doesn’t mind sharing his toys either. Such a good boy! He knows all his basic commands very well. Now to perfect them by graduation day. He learns new extra commands quickly and easily, such as “paws up” and “spin.”

Wilder’s tail never stops wagging. It’s in constant motion all the time. He really enjoys being petted and loved on. He will go from person to person giving and receiving love. Wilder’s trainer said that this is the one dog he would love to keep for himself if he could. He’s an all around greyt dog with plenty of love to give to his forever family.

Jolly Wilder

Hey guys! It's Wilder and I'm back again for another entry about another week in my life. I found my new love this week: it's this ball which my trainer calls a jolly ball. He let me play with it this week and I had a BLAST! He also told me that he hopes I'm adopted soon, that way I can have my very own family to play with. Plus I'll have my own area to play in! I like it here for now, but I'm dreaming of my future with a real family... is it you?

Until next week, see ya later!!

Get Ready To Fall In Love

Wilder is a very intelligent, happy go - lucky, loving boy. He has learned the 13 basic commands super quick. He did his first “show and tail”, and he did greyt! He got 10’s on all of them except one. “Heel” gives him a little trouble, but no worries. He’s got lots of time to get that one up to par. He’ll be good to go by graduation day.

Wilder is a playful dog that enjoys running with the big dogs. He plays well with toys and loves to play fetch and will bring the toy back to you most of the time. Could he be part retriever? LOL Wilder loves people and bonds quickly. He is going to make a great pet for any family. Get ready to fall head over heels in love.

Toys Toys Toys

It’s been an exciting week! Wilder is doing really well with all of his commands.  His inmate trainer says that Wilder seems to have more fun with his toys than he does in the big yard with the other dogs!

Now, Wilder says that he really enjoys training, but the most fun part is watching his trainer get so excited when he follows through with a request.  He says that his trainer gets sooo excited that he starts dispensing treats like a candy machine!

Smart Treat-lovin' Guy

Hey, world! Welcome back to another week in the life of Wilder! I can start off by saying that this week was more eventful than last week; my trainer keeps calling me smart because I did a sit on my own after just a couple of days. At first I thought my name was Wilder AND Smart. Second thing is that I only sat because I wanted that big bowl of food! I’ll do anything for food. I’m getting used to being here, but I don’t want to stay here forever, so somebody, ANYBODY, please let me lie on your couch forever!

Rocking and rolling the retirement life

Hello world!  Things are going good for me at Jenkins.  I’m adjusting well to my new home.  I met my trainer and his team.  They seem real nice and started calling me Wilder. That’s ok with me, because every time I look at him when he says it, I get a treat!  Pretty cool huh?  I don’t think my trainer enjoys me staring at him all the time when I’m in my kennel, but I sure don’t want to miss out on him tossing me one of those tasty treats. Yum. Yum.

I went out on the small yard and went for a jog with my trainer.  I can’t wait to let loose on the big yard and show him what speed I really have.  So far I’m enjoying this training gig.  How hard can it be?  I live for treats!  Catch ya later!
