Here Comes Eros!

Eros has come a long way this session.  He can do all of his commands when asked.  He is a real trooper according to his trainer.  Eros has held up the true meaning of his name, “God of Love.”  Sometimes when he is asked to “sit” he may circle a time or two but he will complete his command.

Eros loves his toys and his play time.  Ice has been a major part of Eros life as well as peanut butter.  His trainer said it has been amazing to go through training with Eros and watch him blossom.

Spin 'N Sit

Eros is doing great with his training. His “sit” is pretty comical. He has to circle around at least twice before he sits. He knows all his commands and is doing much better with “stay”. He knows list of extras that include: Shake, show me love, kiss, which hand and paws up.

Eros will be heading home to his forever home soon. His trainer will miss her boy, but knows he will have a fantastic life with his new family. Have fun with this sweet blankie loving boy!

"Which Hand" Has The Treat?

Eros’ trainer says this dog is a real smart ole man river… He’s doing good with his stay, heel, and is amazing with all the other commands. He’s learned “which hand”, and it’s so cute. His trainer puts treats in one hand. She holds it out and asks which hand? He smells and then paws at the hand with his surprise in it.

Eros still paws at his blanket when he is ready to be covered up. He loves to be tucked in with his blanket and toy. He will eye his trainer until she tucks him in for the night. He’s the perfect dog; Loving, attentive and his temperament is amazing. Eros’ trainer would love to keep him for herself. LOL

Blankie

Eros has learned to tell his trainer when he wants to be covered up with his blanket: he will come over to her to get her attention, then return to his bed and scratch his blanket. Once she picks up the blanket he circles and lays down so she can cover him. 

Eros loves to run but will stop dead in his tracks when he sees someone who he thinks will pet him. 

Eros’ trainer has been working on training him in silence, using just hand signals, and he is doing fantastic!

A Great Week

Eros and his trainer are proud to share with you that he has finally mastered “Heel”, which they have been persevering through for several weeks.  Yay Eros! He also has learned to “Drop” a toy when it’s time to give it up. His favorite toy right now is a squeaky chicken, and during playtime he loves to run around in circles and hear it squeak.  

Eros is so spoiled at bedtime - he loves to be wrapped up in his blanket and tucked in. Definitely spoiled. LOL He is very eager to learn and is always looking to his trainer for what she wants him to do next.  He is so adorable, and his trainer hopes his forever family will love him as much as she does.

Sweet Tooth

This has been a good week in Eros’ training. He is very strong-willed so it takes a few extra tries to teach him a command, but the many commands he’s mastered he follows very well. He has a turkey toy that he absolutely loves and hates to give up. His trainer tries to make sure he gets his favorite toy, they are also making sure he’s good with sharing and “dropping” it when he needs to.

Eros is very well-behaved on his leash and in the training room. Peanut butter and marshmallows are his absolute favorites.

Such a Gentleman

Eros is doing great! His trainer says he is very sweet and lovable and wants all of the attention he can get. He loves to lounge around laying on his green blankie. His commands are coming along well, and his leash etiquette is improving every day.

Climbing Eros

This week Eros has been working on “Bed”, “Down”, “Sit”, “Wait”, “Release”, “Kennel”, and “Hurry”. This has also been the first week where he’s had to overcome climbing the stairs. At first he totally locked up and refused to climb, but now he has that down.

If Eros had his way he would lay on his bed and be petted forever. He’s also very playful though, and likes to carry around his favorite toy - a stuffed yellow squirrel. He gets so excited when he’s on his leash that he is pulling a little, but his trainer is working on improving his leash etiquette.

Let's Go!

Eros never tires of being petted or getting attention from his trainers and everyone else in the dorm.  Throughout the day he will go from being sound asleep to suddenly awake and playing excitedly with his stuffed raccoon. Then he will tire himself out and fall back into a deep sleep.  His fun personality keeps his trainer laughing every day!

“Let’s Go” is Eros’ favorite command as he loves to explore the dorm and the yard whenever he can.  Wherever he is, he loves to sniff and smell everything around him.

Precious Pup

Eros is a very loving dog, and is curious about everything in his new surroundings. He loves to lean on people to show them how much he already loves them. His trainer describes him as simply precious.

His trainer is working with him on going up and down the stairs and into his kennel. He’s not a fan of either so far, but is making progress quickly. He’ll be a pro in no time!
