Ready For Graduation

Draco had a great swap week. His swap week trainer said he is very laid back and friendly. He is not affectionate initially, but once he warms up to you, he can be very playful. He does not whine in his kennel, nor does he have any problems going in to it.

Outside he can be vocal. Playfully barking at the other greyhounds. “Come play with me!” He runs well with them outside. He’s a friendly boy.

Draco is definitely food motivated. He knows all of his commands and will do them in private and also in a noisy environment. Draco is ready for the next step….Graduation.

Let's Play

Not a lot to talk about this week. Draco keeps practicing his commands, so they are fresh on his mind. He is treat motivated, so training has been easy. He loves food and will stare at you, hoping you will share your snack with him. Don’t give in to those handsome brown eyes. LOL

Draco is very tolerant of the other dogs. He likes to run beside the other dogs, hoping one of them will play with him. He will sometimes bark at one of the other dogs, as if he’s saying, “come play with me”.

Brainiac

Draco is becoming more relaxed and playful with each passing day.  His inmate trainer says that she’s truly enjoying working with this sweet boy!  He knows all of his commands very well and most with both hand signal and verbal cues.

He knows all of his extra commands like a pro.  Wondering what all his extra’s are?  Well, pull up a chair and we’ll go over them (seriously, it’s a long list).  Okay if you’re ready here we go… he knows:  kiss; paws up; spin; shake; high five; which hand; show me love; beg; say your prayers; speak; I love you; and bang bang!  He’s also doing really well with the stairs and seems to learn a new routine easily .

He knows all his basic commands and also a long list of extras. He made his trainer very proud. Draco was not distracted by all the new sights and smells. When it was time to perform, he showed out. Draco handled everything so well, that is trainer feels he won’t have any problems with the changes when he goes to his forever home.

Striking Boy

Draco is becoming more social with other dogs.  He seems to be becoming more comfortable every day.  He likes to have his crate flaps pulled back a bit so he can see out.  He seems to feel more secure when he see’s his inmate trainer nearby.  He knows all of his commands with verbal cues and many with hand signal cues as well!  He also has a list of extras he’s working on. His inmate trainer says that she’s very proud of Draco and can’t wait to see what he discovers next!

"Show Me Love"

Draco’s personality is really starting to present itself!  He prefers his kennel over all areas, but is starting to become more social.  He’s a little nonchalant toward the other dogs.  He loves to be petted and rubbed on.  He’s curious about his environment and friendly to everyone in general.  His inmate trainer says that once he figures out what you’re asking for when training, he does a good job performing the command..

He’s already learning extra commands like Show Me Love, Bang Bang and Kiss!
