On My Way To My Forever Home

Drogon has done exceedingly well this week.  He has played and ran just about everyday during potty breaks.  His appetite is very good and he is more relaxed and lovable.  Drogon’s trainer said he doesn’t mind a good rest either.

Drogon knows and responds quickly to his commands and is sure to make someone a very good companion.  Drogon will be missed by his trainer very much.

King Of The Tennis Ball

Drogon loves squeaky tennis balls.  He plays with them the best.  He’s also a very fast runner and loves to run around in the yard.  This week his trainer has worked more on his commands and he’s really showing a lot of improvement and focus.  He knows all of his commands and is still treat motivated.  His trainer is really proud of Drogon’s improvements and has been blessed to have him.

Drogon still needs work with sharing toys with the other dogs.  It’s best to give him something he loves even more than the toy for trade. He is a very loving boy to everyone, especially to his primary caregiver.  He loves people and seeks all the attention.  Drogon and his trainer have bonded well together and he will truly be missed.

Truly A Blessing

Drogon is truly a blessing. He has settled in and showing a more relaxed attitude. He likes routine. Drogon has really come out of his shell and his trainer is so proud of him. He is a friendly and lovable boy. Definitely a “people” greyhound.

He knows his commands and his trainer goes over them a few times a day to keep him on track. He also learned a few extra commands. “Show me love”, “speak” and “shake”.

Drogon is a little reluctant to “jump”, but with a lot of praise and some irresistible treats, he will follow through. When he’s not training he likes to just chill out with his trainer. Very soon he can chill with you.

Loveable Drogon

Drogon had a little switch-up with his primary and secondary trainers this week, but he is still making great strides in overcoming his anxiety in the play room.  He gets very excited about toys and has to be reminded to be calm and gentle when playing.

Drogon is learning all of his commands very well.  His trainers say he is a very lovable dog and they thoroughly enjoy working with him.

Working Hard

Drogon’s trainer has started working on his commands with him outside in the exercise yard, where he is more familiar and therefore more confident. All of his commands are coming along very well, and there are only a few left that he is working on responding to more quickly.

Drogon gets somewhat stressed downstairs with all the other dogs so his trainer has been giving him plenty of time around staff members to keep him socialized but apart from the other dogs. Drogon has become very attached to his toys as well, so his trainer is doing some resource guarding work with him to make sure he is good about sharing.

Running Drogon

Drogon is finally showing some interest in running now that it has cooled down, and he is FAST! He mostly runs outside with the girls since some of the boys are a little assertive for his personality. He is like a big brother to Angel, always checking on her to make sure she’s ok. Maybe Drogon has a girlfriend. LOL He is doing well with his commands and is right where he should be at week 5.

Loveable Drogon

Drogon is still a wonderful dog. He has a mind of his own, so his trainer needs to make sure she has all of his attention and engagement when they are working on commands. He prefers to lean against people and cuddle than work on training, but he is mastering “Kennel”, “Let’s Go”, “Wait”, and “Hurry”. He is a sweet and loving dog through and through.

Drogon's Adventure

Drogon will let anyone pet and love on him, but he has a preference for time close to his trainer. He has started playing with some of the squeaky toys. He is good with being groomed but is not a fan of having his ears cleaned. Overall he is still a little shy in the new environment, but he is just so loving, his trainer can’t wait to see him once he’s settled in!

Drogon’s trainer is still working to find what motivates him, as he isn’t getting super exited about food, toys, or treats just yet. Once they crack the case, Drogon’s training is going to take off!
