A Whole Lotta Love

If you haven’t had the honor to meet our boy Rosko yet, this is your chance! Rosko is a gentle soul with a whole lot of love to give. He may be a bit of a shy guy but once he gets to know you, that’s where the fun begins!

Rosko is friendly around our pups and loves chase! If you get him excited and pumped up outside expect a lot of zoomies! He has quite a goofy run that’s so fun to watch. He loves to hoard toys on his bed too. He could compete with Smaug with all his collected treasures!

At the end of the day, he loves to hang out in the living room with everyone and take a nice snooze, with the occasional dream or two. He is quite the companion and wants nothing more than to be by his human’s side.

Wonderful Journey With Rosko

Rosko’s inmate trainer says it’s been a wonderful journey with Rosko.  He said that watching Rosko enter the program shy and unsure of this new place to becoming more open, loving, and trustful has been a true reward. Give Rosko time to show you his true self. He’s a slow bloomer but definitely worth the wait.

Rosko is a smart boy who made a lot of progress while in the program.  His inmate trainer says that he’s going to miss Rosko’s expressive face and eyes.   Rosko will forever hold a place in his mind and heart and he hopes that Rosko’s new forever family will love him as much as he does.

I'm Adopted?!

Rosko had no problem doing his commands for other people this week! His inmate trainer says that he’s so proud of Rosko and his achievements!! Everyday Rosko comes out of his shell a little more, relaxing and showing his personality.

These days Rosko knows most of his commands with both hand signal and verbal cues and doesn’t mind releasing something when the “give” command is given.  Rosko’s inmate trainer says that slow and steady wins the race for Rosko.  Give him time and he’ll open up giving his trust and love whole heartedly.  It’s a special feeling watching Rosko grow and change and know you had a hand in it.

Ready for Graduation Already!

This session is coming to an end and Rosko’s trainer has done just about all he can for this smart guy. If his trainer had him at home, there is so much more he could teach him. However, Rosko shows a day and night difference now, compared to his disposition when he first arrived. He officially knows and performs all of the 13 basic commands really well , he loves other dogs, running, hanging out on his dog bed. And once you earn his trust, he's very affectionate. He loves kibble and just about any special treat you give him. All right folks, that's all for now. Y'all take care!

Go Ahead And "Jump"

Rosko’s secondary trainer had a great time with him this week. He said Rosko has come a long way since he first arrived at Jenkins. The prison can be very noisy at times and Rosko is steadily overcoming his fear of loud noises. He likes to take his time warming up to new people, but after he trusts you, you’re as good as gold to Rosko.

His secondary trainer loves the look Rosko gives him whenever he walks up to him. He sticks his ears up and gives him a crazy look. His secondary trainer says Rosko looks like a gremlin, and it makes him smile every time.

One of Rosko's favorite things to do is hang out and chill on a bed and people watch. His trainer can only imagine what he’s thinking.

Rosko did very well during show and tell this week. His favorite command is “jump”. No problems with this boy, when it’s time to go for a ride in your SUV. He’ll be ready.

Rosko is a smart, loving greyhound who enjoys getting all kinds of yummy treats for a job well done. Popcorn and marshmallows are at the top of his list.

I'm Cute!!

Rosko has had a great week!  He knows and performs all of his basic commands.  He’s a little slow to respond when there are distractions, but he’s improving on focusing and following through.  He’s also accepting his environment more and more each day.

His inmate trainer says that Rosko is a sweetheart who is a joy to train.   He says that whoever has the chance to adopt Rosko is going to be a very lucky!

Loyal and Loving

Hello Rosko fans!

This was Rosko’s best week yet! He has come a long way since he first got here. He is accepting his environment more and more every day, and is starting to take treats from other people and allowing them to pet him. He is also starting to respond well to some of the commands. He seems to enjoy it! Rosko loves running out in the big yard with the other hounds, and in true greyhound fashion, he loves hanging out on his bed.

Rosko is one of the most beautiful greyhounds his trainer has ever seen and he is extremely affectionate once he gets to know you. Rosko and his trainer have a very strong bond, and he loves Rosko so much. If he could, he would keep him for himself! He’s been messing around with toys, trying to get Rosko to play - he seems interested, but hasn’t quite figured out what all the fuss is about just yet. Rosko still has much to learn, but his trainer knows he will be ready once graduation arrives.

All right folks, reckon that’s all for now - y’all take care!

Lazy Days

t’s been a progressive week with Rosko!  He seems to be relaxing into his new environment.  His inmate trainer says that Rosko follows him around wherever he goes.  He’s not crazy about overly loud and crowded places.  He likes the relaxed side of life.

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

It’s been a productive week for Rosko!  Rosko will now lay on his bed and when he relaxes, he’ll lay his head on his inmate trainer’s lap for some ear rubs.

Rosko’s inmate trainer says that Rosko is kinda like the turtle racing the rabbit - slow and steady.  Rosko is the kind of guy who likes to think things through and warm up to a new idea.  His inmate trainer says it’s very rewarding to watch Rosko grow into retirement!

A True Sweetheart

Rosko’s inmate trainer says that Rosko  is a true sweetheart!  He’s still adjusting to the new environment.  Currently his inmate trainer is working with him on socialization to help him warm up to this noisy new place.  His trainer says that he’s not going to start working on commands just yet because he wants Rosko to have fun and feel successful.  They’ll start working on skills when Rosko’s ready. There’s no need to rush as there’s plenty of time and he’s confident that Rosko will learn everything he needs to know.

Wonderful Boy

Rosko’s first week in the training program has come and gone!  His inmate trainer says that it’s been an interesting week!  Rosko has been a little shy in his new environment, but his inmate trainer says he’s looking forward to helping Rosko come out of his shell!  He says it’s always an amazing experience to what the dogs grow in confidence and comfort.

Rosko’s inmate trainer says that he plans to spend some time helping Rosko get comfortable before they start working on commands.  He wants training to be fun and positive for Rosko and there’s nothing he loves more than helping dogs transition into happy go lucky!
