Ear Rubs Are Fabulous

Scooter’s inmate trainer says it’s been a great last week!  He’s going to hate to see Scooter go, but knowing that he gets to spend retirement with a forever family is a good happy thought.  Scooter knows all of his commands and loves to give and receive attention.  He gets excited when he gets to go outside to run and play.  A good rub behind the ear makes him a happy fella.

Scooter’s inmate trainer says that he hopes Scooter’s new forever family enjoys him as much as he did.  He thinks that Scooter is the best dog in the world!

Happy, Fun Boy

Swap Week has arrived!  Time for the inmate trainers to swap dogs to work on commands and see how they do away from their primary training team.  Scooter’s alternate inmate trainer says that Scooter is one happy fun boy!  He performed his commands well, likes toys and loves running in the big yard with his buddies.

Scooter’s alternate inmate trainer says that he enjoyed the time with Scooter and he’s sure that Scooter is going to make his new home a little brighter.

Scooter Bug

Scooter has had a wonderful and exciting week.  His inmate trainer says that Scooter enjoys people and treats!  He’s been working on extra commands for the past few weeks.  Nowadays when his toys are spread out all over the training room, he’ll pick them up and put them away, one at a time.

His inmate trainer says that Scooter is a loving boy who is going to make a great companion for some very lucky family.

Love Those Ears

Scooter is an extremely intelligent, curious hound with plenty of energy. His pointed ears stand up almost all the time. Always on alert. Never wanting to miss a thing.

Teaching Scooter any command is a breeze. (He sat on day 1). He already knows most of the basic commands. Who knows what he will learn next. He’s the type of greyhound whose limitations begin when the trainer’s imagination ends. See you next week

Peanut Butter & Marshmallows. Oh Yeah!

Scooter has had a great week!  He knows all of his commands except for down.  He’s still slow to respond so they’ll keep working on this one.  He’s treat motivated and works hard to earn the next yummy reward.

He really enjoys laying on his bed with a Kong filled with marshmallows and peanut butter.  He also enjoys playtime.  His inmate trainer says that he’s a joy to be around and will be a great companion for his new forever family.

Smarty Pants

Scooter has had a wonderful week! He is so smart and really enjoys his training sessions. He is still slow on some of the commands but only because he has been working with only one person. This week, his secondary trainer worked with him and had some training sessions to help him get used to getting commands from more than one person. His trainer knows he is smart and will do the commands for anyone else!

Scooter loves his day bed and will do anything for a treat. He’ll lie on the day bed and just stare at the TV – he is so amazed by it! How the heck did all those people get in there?!

He is such an awesome dog and will be so great for any home. He discovered toys and now he will sit for a toy; when he wants something you have, he will sit until you give it to him. It’s so cute! It makes it so much easier when the pups will sit for something.

His trainer has not seen any aggressive behavior with him toward anything at all. Thank you so much for adopting, and his trainer is so grateful for the time he gets to spend with him – Scooter is a truly wonderful dog!

OMG! Squeaky Toys!

Scooter here to give you an update on training.  My inmate trainer says that I’m taking my time and learning my commands well.  We’ve been working on:  sit, stay, heel, wait, here and kennel.  He says it’s good not to rush through so that the commands stick. We’re working on this one command he calls “leave it”.  I gotta tell you, it’s the worst!  He puts a yummy piece of kibble down and tells me to leave it… I stare at it, which seems like forever, until I just can’t stand it anymore.  I mean the smell!  A guy can only take so much…

Wondering what my favorite thing is?  My bed.   I’m also always up for going and checking out something new.  I learned about toys this week. Oh… my… goodness… THEY SQUEEK!  I think I’m in love.  My inmate trainer keeps telling me to “sit” and offers me the toy if I do.  Okay, okay, okay… yeah… yeah… I’ll sit… I’ll take it… gimme!

My inmate trainer seems to be  happy. He smiles a lot when we’re hanging out.  He’s pretty cool

Lots Of Potential

Scooter has had a great week! He has learned that doing a command = a yummy treat and he’s all in it for the win! He has acclimated to everything so well already. He enjoys people, his bed and treats. He’s a smart boy and is having no problems learning. He knows sit, bed and heel. His trainer has found no aggressive behaviors at all with anything. Scooter will make a great companion for any family. He is such a wonderful dog and his trainer is enjoying the time with him.

All In For Treats!

Scooter has arrived for training!  His inmate trainer says that Scooter is a beautiful red brindle.  His ears stand straight up listening to all the new sounds.  Scooter didn’t mind his bath, ear cleaning or teeth brushing.  He loves people and treats and hasn’t had any problems adjusting to the new environment.

Scooter has already learned “bed” and loves spending time hanging out on it with his inmate trainer. He’s doing well with leash walking.  He’s learning to stay near his inmate trainer when walking.  When he realized he gets treats for doing things, he was all in!

Scooter’s inmate trainer says that when you get to see a dog realizing/learning things for the first time it’s a truly happy feeling!
