Lyra has made a big impact on her trainers’ lives while being there for the 10 weeks of training. They are happy they had the chance to work with her. She knows all her basic commands and will do them with no hesitation. She enjoys running and playing with toys. Lyra especially loves to be loved on.

Hello everyone, this week was amazing having Lyra. She is so sweet and outgoing and did all of her commands for her swap week trainer. He also played with toys with her and she really enjoys playing with them. She will “give” whenever you tell her to. He also had her chilling on the bed out in the dayroom and she loves being out on the bed looking at all the things going on around her.
Dear future forever family,
Lyra only has a few more weeks til she leaves here and goes to her forever home! We know you can’t wait to meet her and see all the commands she has learned while she has been here. Her trainers have been teaching her some new extra commands that they know you will enjoy, and they hope you like them! Other than that, Lyra still has no problems with anything at all, and she is still spot on with all her commands.

Lyra continues to perform all her commands with perfection at show and tell. She can do them all with verbal cues and most of them with hand signals too.
The trainers have been letting the dogs run in the big yard in the mornings, because of the heat in the afternoon. Lyra has no problem running, in fact, other than toys or food, she enjoys running with the other dogs as much or even more.
Lyra has been progressing in every area of her training and she will make a superb dog by the end of the session. Lyra leaned her first extra command, “kiss”.
Lyra is doing great! Her inmate trainer says that she has no problems performing her commands. He plans to start teaching her some extra commands soon to keep things fun and exciting.
He believes that her new forever family will have a hard time resisting this girl! She’s happy to meet everyone and is the best greyhound he’s ever worked with! She’s sweet, smart, and loving.
Lyra did awesome at show and tell this past week and her trainer is very proud of her. This girl loves her food and will automatically “sit” on her own at feeding time. She is also doing good on “down”. It’s still a work in progress, but it keeps getting better and better by the week.
Lyra got a bath this past week too and didn’t seem to mind it a bit. Her trainer said it is a sheer joy to work with her and see her progress into a wonderful girl and soon to be pet. We are half way there and Lyra’s trainer knows her forever family can’t wait to meet her.
Week 4 has been a productive week for Lyra. She is sitting all by herself! This is quite an accomplishment for greyhounds. Lyra is also doing well with her other basic commands.
This week Lyra got to run on the big yard. She was so happy to run and play with the other dogs. She couldn’t contain her excitement. She was zooming all over the yard.
Here’s to another week of training with sweet Lyra. It gets better and better by the day.
Lyra’s inmate trainer says that she’s an awesome dog to work with! She’s settled into her environment and loves humans and other dogs. She’s doing great with her commands and loves food and treats! She’s super motivated and enjoys petting and praise.
Lyra’s inmate trainer says that he thinks that Lyra is a phenomenal girl and her forever family will easily fall in love with her.
It’s the second week into training and getting acclimated to her new surroundings and Lyra is making positive progress in both areas. She loves being around other dogs and people and loves lots of affection too!. She is curious girl and loves to explore.
Lyra looks forward to her outside breaks and feeding time. She’s always ready for that. Her trainer is looking forward to her blossoming out into her full potential. She is very smart and picks up on things quick. See you next week.

Okay so I’m in this new place with soooo many things to sniff! My inmate trainer says that I seem to have a curious nature. I tried to explain that it’s called investigating.
So, I got a bath… and I look A M A Z I N G. My inmate trainer human has been bribing me with yummy treats. I go into my kennel and BAM I get a treat… I thought about telling him that my kennel is my comfy place, but I’m not about to give up a treat. I’ll just keep letting him think he’s doing something. I wonder how many treats I’ll get next week?
