Too Sweet For Her Own Good

Cherry’s inmate trainer says that she’s been excellent since day one! He says the only thing she suffers from is being overly loving! She’s absolutely too sweet for her own good!  She’s a dorm favorite and will be missed!

Sometimes when Cherry looks at you, you can almost see her working out her opinions and thoughts about who you are to her.  She’s truly adorable and expressive.

Her inmate trainer says that Cherry is sure to make her new forever family very happy.  She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful spirit.

Upbeat Girl

Cherry was a definite change in personality compared to JoJo. Cherry is much more upbeat and enthusiastic about things. Cherry adapted well to her swap week trainer’s routine and showed no signs of separation anxiety.

Cherry did great with her commands. She has also been taught lots of tricks and she seemed to enjoy doing them all. Cherry’s alternate trainers enjoyed her company a great deal and they are certain her new adopters will too!

Did I Hear A Squeak?

Cherry continues to excel.  Her routines and focus have improved.  She’s no longer darting for the play room or trying to explore the dorm when she should be training.  She’s learned that training is fun and exploring is a reward that comes during breaks.  She’s doing really well with other people giving her commands. Playtime is still her favorite time of the day… well aside from meal times.   The world comes to a stop when she hears a squeaky toy.  That squeak is the ultimate score!  However, even during playtime she will adhere to “give” when requested.

Lots of Freedom, Fun And Treats!

This week Cherry worked on her extra commands, toy etiquette and playtime!  Her inmate trainer says that she’s done so well with training that’s he’s been rewarding her with not only treats, but a little extra freedom and fun.  He says that Cherry seems to be enjoying learning her extras like: kiss, hug, shake, fetch, drop it and spin.  Shake was a bit of a challenge because she never paws at anything nor uses her paws to hold a bone or Kong tory.  He says it took some work, but she’s got Shake all figured out now.

When it comes to toys, her favorite is a rubber chicken that seems to drive all greyhounds crazy.  She likes to lay her head on her trainer’s lap and take a nap.  He says he’s really enjoying his days with this amazing girl!

Funny And Playful

Cherry’s daily activities include scheduled command routines, feedings, dog runs and play time. Cherry has excelled quickly with all he commands and there’s no area of the dorm or outside yard areas that deter her inquisitive mind. Nevertheless, she enjoys her lazy time and re-arranging her bed linens seem to bring her joy.

Cherry is very smart and seems fearless for the most part. She likes treats, but loves physical attention or play time as a reward. Playtime is her favorite time of the day, which tends to wipe her out for he second favorite thing; Sleeping!

Cherry is a wonderful hound. Lovable, funny, playful and again, very smart. Her trainer said she has taught him more than he could ever teach her.

Performing Like A Pro

Cherry’s inmate trainer says it’s been another amazing week! She’s worn herself out with playing and having fun  He says that she’s an energetic girl who is a lot of fun to be around.  She’s also rather adorable when she grabs a toy and her face lights up with delight.

Cherry also did a fantastic job at Show and Tail this week.  She performed all of her commands when asked.  They’ve been working on kiss, hug and show me love.  She has them down pretty well, but still needs some fine tuning.

Cherry’s personality continues to emerge a little more each week.  While she loves to play and run in the big yard she calms easily.  Her inmate trainer says that Cherry is an amazing girl and has made a place for herself in her inmate trainer’s heart.

Amazing Hound

What an eventful week! Cherry did amazing at show your tail. She almost got a perfect score. She is now doing all her commands for anyone, every time they are given. What a smart girl! So that means…. it’s time for extras. She naturally does “kiss”, “hug” and “show me love”, so those are the ones they will start on first.

Cherry has become more playful with every week. She has a burst of energy for about a minute and then it’s time to take a break and relax. Cherry is amazing and by far the smartest greyhound her trainer has trained so far. He is glad that he is a part of her journey to retirement.

A Sight To See

Cherry’s inmate trainer says that Cherry has been having a blast all week!  She was introduced to toys and has been happy and playful ever since!  Her trainer says this is a great opportunity to work on proper etiquette for greeting people. She’s also a sight to see jumping and playing with gleeful happiness.

Cherry has been introduced to all the commands except down.  So far her favorite command is jump.  She is doing exceptionally well with all of her commands and seems to enjoy learning new things… and treats.  She also loves lounging around in her bed and getting her belly rubbed.  He says that if you’re petting her she will roach and give you an imploring look to rub her belly. He says it’s the cutest thing ever!

Cherry’s inmate trainer says that she enjoys being brushed.  She doesn’t mind having her teeth brushed or her nails trimmed.  He says that she’s an all-around easy girl.

Learning The Ropes

Cherry’s inmate trainer says that he can’t help but be amazed at how quickly she picks up on commands.  He thinks that she may have helped initiate the Chick-fil-a work flow plan.  They are working on fine turning the commands like: leash walking, kennel, release, heel, wait, bed, and stay.  He’s also started having someone else work on giving her commands so that she knows to follow through, no matter who makes the request.

When she gets excited, she calms very easily and seems to understand what her inmate trainer is asking of her.  Her favorite part of the day is when she gets to go around visiting everyone.  She loves people and affection.

Sweet As "Cherry" Pie
