Tiny But Mighty

Norma Jean continues to be spoiled rotten… She gets loved on by everyone and she’s never met a stranger! She may be the smallest of the bunch, but Norma Jean is not aware of it. She likes to get the party started and will tease and run around like she has lost her mind. LOL She’s so cute to watch run. She looks like an overgrown bunny from behind.

Norma Jean is still on top of her game with her commands and is ready to impress her new family with how smart she is. She’s also cute as a button.

Happy New Year From Norma Jean!

Happy New Year! - from Norma Jean.

This was a great week for Norma Jean! Training is still going great. She knows all her basic commands very well and she has a long list of extras she knows too. She knows room, water, say your prayers, shake, spin, paws up, leave it, drop it, give, rest and bang bang. Wow, what a list!

Norma Jean is an intelligent little girl. She’s a loyal pup that’s affectionate and playful. Her forever family is absolutely going to love her.

Christmas Parade Reindeer

Norma Jean has had a great Christmas week! Her inmate trainer introduced the command “Bang Bang” and within 20 mins she performed the command twice on her own!  This week they’ll work on getting her used to responding and consistent praises for a job well done.

Norma Jean was in a Christmas parade this week with her brothers and sisters!  The pups were reindeer (antlers included) and the trainers were the elves!  She wasn’t too crazy about the antler addition and didn’t agree to wear them very long.  She did a fantastic job walking right by her inmate’s side.  She wasn’t a huge fan of the loud music when the parade got closer to the speakers, but settled right in when moved away from the loud area.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s very proud of this beautiful girl!

Loves Training Time

Another great week for this fabulous girl!  She continues to perfect her command responses and loves training time!  The “off” command is still a little challenging for her, but she’s showing a lot of improvement!  She knows all of her commands with hand signal and verbal cues.  She’s got a whole list of extras too, like:  spin, shake, say your prayers, paws up, give, drop it, leave it, rest and get up.  Her inmate trainer says that Norma Jean is one smart cookie!

Norma Jean Gets the Super "Stay" Award

Norma Jean’s inmate trainer says that not a single person can walk past this adorable girl!  Stopping and loving on her is a must and it’ll make your day better.  She’s got those eyes that twist you in bits giving her everything she wants while you walk away feeling all warm and fuzzy for a job well done.

She’s doing great with all of her commands.  Her inmate trainer can tell her to “stay” then walk around without Norma Jean breaking position!  She’s super proud of how much Norma Jean has learned and how well she’s doing!  No

Fast Learner

What a smart girl!  Norma Jean is doing fantastic with her commands and has been working on training her inmate trainer to give her treats.  So far it’s going well and Norma Jean gets lots of treats!  She says her inmate trainer is a fast learner too!  She does really well with grooming, but please for the love of all greyhounds, don’t clean her ears with your cold hands.  Warm hands welcome…. Cold hands get you The Look.  She does well with getting her teeth brushed, but it’s not her absolute favorite grooming activity.  Brushing her fur seems to be a much better venture as she’ll soak up all the attention you can give her!

Just A Little Spoiled

Norma Jean has decided to give her trainers a new challenge. During Norma Jean’s walks, if her trainer is not going in the direction she wants to go, she will come to a complete stop and stand there and stare at her trainer as if she’s dragging her to her death. Her trainers have no idea where this new trick has come from, but they are hoping it’s short lived. LOL. Besides that, all is well and Norma Jean is still her cute, adorable, spoiled rotten self!

Playtime. Naps. Training.... Repeat.

Norma Jean is doing very well with her schedule. Once she is up for the day, she likes to play outside with her siblings. Around 9 am. she comes inside for training. This girl has mastered her basic commands and has quite the list of extras she knows. Her latest is “rest”. After training ends, it’s potty time outside and then lunch. After her mid-day meal, it’s nap time. Norma Jean enjoys her naps and playtime.

So Adorable

Norma Jean has finally started losing her ‘little girl’ teeth. So far she’s lost two, which means she’s got plenty more to lose.

Norma Jean is doing great with her commands this week. Norma Jean thinks the yummy treats are the “bomb”! She knows all her basic commands like the back of her paw. She also knows a list of extras that are sure to entertain everyone. Here’s the list: Room, water, say your prayers, shake, spin, paws up, leave it, drop it (leash), give and rest. What a list!

Fun Personality

Guess who’s getting better and better with her commands?  Yep you guessed it, this sweet girl right here!  She’s a little picky on what treats are suitable as a reward for a job well done.  Don’t try to slip her any kibble bits as an award.  That’s meal time kibble not award quality bits!  Her inmate trainer says that it’s been fantastic watching Norma Jean grow and learn.  Her little personality is fun and adorable and her new family is going to have a great time with this baby girl!

Quite Content

This past week has been nice and quiet.  She’s been energetic and having fun with her siblings and humans.  She continues to do well with training and her inmate trainer is very proud to see all that she’s learned.  Her inmate trainer has been using “sit” as the starting position when training.  Norma Jean seems quite content and happy with her daily routine.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s having a great time with this sweet girl.

You Know You Love Me!

Norma Jean has always been attentive and quick to listen to any command in and out of training. This week she wasn’t having it. Her trainers have been a little frustrated, but will continue working with her on her commands. I’m sure she will snap out of it and be back to her old self in no time.

This week her trainers focus on her not jumping on people. Norma Jean gets so excited around people and she assumes everyone must love her as much as she loves them. When she sees people she practically throws herself at them like “Love Me!” Norma Jean doesn’t realize her size and she’s only getting bigger. She’s still a sweet little girl who’s having fun learning new things.

Fun-Loving Little Girl

Norma Jean is finally managing to accept her schedule and not try to fight it too much. When it’s time for a nap, she will go into her kennel and lay down. She is doing great with her commands. She is smart as a whip and knows all her commands and a list of extras.

Norma Jean, pretty much every single night, gets a huge burst of energy around 6:30 - 7 pm, like she’s hyped up on Mountain Dew! She starts spinning around and jumping back and forth, flinging her toys left and right non-stop until she can run around off-leash somewhere. They go to the training room where Norma Jean jumps up and down and on and off the big beds and does circles around the room. Soon after that she’ll fall fast asleep. She’s a crazy, fun-loving little girl!

Smartie Pants

Norma Jean has had a great week!  She’s growing way too fast, but staying just as cute as a button.  She’s hit the 20lb mark!  She will whine when she needs to go out.  She’ll lay down in her kennel when the door is open and comes out when you reach in and touch her collar.  If she’s at the back of the kennel when she lays down, she may need a magic carpet ride to get her to the front so her inmate trainer can reach her collar!  (Inmate slides her on her blanket to the door).  She’s doing great with all her commands!  She knows them all with both hand signal and verbal cues!  She’s such a smart girl!

Learning & Growing

Norma Jean is doing so well in her training! Many of the things that can take weeks in older dogs are only taking days with her. It’s amazing to watch her learn and grow. She pretty much knows all her basic commands and she is learning quite a few extras as well.

Norma Jean is slowly learning that throwing temper tantrums won’t get her anywhere. She hasn’t had a single one at 4am. breakfast when she sees another pup out of their kennel. After going out and then eating, she will curl up in the back of her kennel and go right to sleep. At 6 am, it’s a different story. When Norma Jean sees another dog, there is no stopping the sounds that come out of her itty bitty mouth. Her trainers have made great strides in the right direction and that what counts.

What's Next On The List To Learn?

Norma Jean is doing well with training.  She knows all of her commands and has learned that the “here” command is her invitation to exit her kennel.  She can be a bit cheeky when it comes to walking.  She’ll up and decide she’s done so she’ll sit pretty as you please for a rest.  Her inmate trainer has been working to keep their training schedule consistent and fun.  She says that she can’t wait to see what Norma Jean learns next!

Cutie Patootie

This week the trainer has been focusing on three things… “no bite”, “stay” and her name. She is doing great with the “stay” command and her name. The “no bite” command is a bit more challenging.

Norma Jean is making progress in the potty training area and her commands are coming along nicely. She’s a little thing with a big attitude. Norma Jean has no problems keeping up with the rest of the pack.

Cutest Hot Mess Ever!

Norma Jean has decided to spend this past week showing how smart and stubborn she can be.  Her inmate trainer says that she’ll have a stubborn streak then 5 minutes later do everything requested of her just as pretty as you please!  She’s the cutest hot mess ever!  In true puppy form she’s interested in chewing things she shouldn’t, but they’re working to teach her what’s okay to chew and what’s off limits.  Her inmate trainer says that it’s a battle not to fall for those sweet puppy eyes and let her by with being naughty, but she’s having a lot of fun training this sweet girl!

Puppy Power!

This has been a very challenging yet very exciting week! Norma Jean is definitely a handful, as all puppies are. Norma Jean has a huge attitude and is a diva, but she looks so darn cute while she’s at it. Right now, at this puppy stage, she wants to bite anything and everything she can get her teeth on. In her trainer’s room, she feels the urgent need to attack each and every shoe on the floor. She goes under the bed, behind the bed, knocks over the trash can and will “nose” it around the room. Norma Jean’s trainer has learned to leave nothing unprotected. Puppies are lots of work, but lots of fun.
