Quite The Charmer

Murphy’s inmate trainer says that Murphy is a great dog!  He’s quite the charmer when he feels he can get around his commands.  He’ll eventually follow through after realizing his distraction techniques didn’t work.  Murphy is a very affectionate boy, but he doesn’t like to be smothered.  He responds very well to positive praises.  He does a really good job making eye contact when you request “watch me”.  When he goes out to potty his preface is privacy.  He’s a bit competitive with the other dogs, but has a lazy streak that he calls retirement.   He would rather sleep with his kennel uncovered so he can see out if he wakes up.

When using commands Murphy responds to No vs Leave It.  He’s doing great with Kennel, Heel, Sit, Down and Jump.  His inmate trainer says that Murphy is never in a hurry for anything.  He just takes life as it comes and seems to enjoy every step along the way.

"Good Murphy"

Murphy is a truly loving boy!  He’s doing fantastic with his commands.  He likes a calm environment, so if the other dogs start playing a little rough or rowdy, he’ll walk way.  He chooses which dog he wants to run outside with and is not easily swayed if his focus is on something.  He can try being a little stubborn, but will see your side of things if you’re persistent.  His eye contact is getting better and responds really well to “Good Murphy.”

Murphy’s inmate trainer says that she’s very thankful for the opportunity to laugh and enjoy being with this sweet guy, as he’s bringing her a lot of joy.

Charming Boy

Murphy is a truly charming boy with a little streak of stubbornness.  He seems to enjoy having his inmate trainer speak a command and he gets around to it when he’s ready.  He loves to play.  Not so much with other dogs as he does by himself.  If other dogs join in he removes himself from the gaggle and carries on alone appearing quite content.

Murphy loves affection!  He’s not a big fan of being crowded and will avoid eye contact when he’s uncomfortable.  He responds really well to words like: good boy, thank you or please.  He loves praise, so feel free to heap it on to watch him shine.

If he pulls while on the leash, he responds well to correction.  He loves to run and play when he’s in the mood for it and it’s a lot of fun to watch!  During training they’ve discovered that he responds to “no” as opposed to “leave it”. He’s a sweet boy with a sensitive side.

Watchful Eyes

Murphy responds to his name and responds to positive praise.  He’s very attentive to his surroundings and prefers smaller groups of people.  At night he likes to have the curtains up on his kennel vs. down.  His inmate trainer encourages him to run and play more, but he seems to like relaxing pretty well.  He knows Hurry, Let’s Go, Kennel, Release, Wait, Heel and Here really well.  His inmate trainer says that she’s looking forward to seeing what he discovers next!
