Great Progress

This session has come to an end and although Cricket isn’t where her trainers wanted her to be, she has made great progress and they are very proud of her.

Cricket has come a little farther with her commands, but is still learning. You can tell while working with her, that she is always thinking about what to do next. She has mastered approximately half of her basic commands. She does know the others, but is slow to respond. She even learned a couple of extra tricks, “Kiss” and “Show Me Love.”

Cricket enjoys her outside time very much. She isn’t much of a leader of the pack but when someone else takes off to run, she follows. She has been playing with toys more and more. She likes to take them to her kennel.

Cricket will be missed so much by her trainers.

Full Of Energy

As they come closer to the end of this session, even though Cricket is full of energy and is a wonderful pup. She is not where her trainers wanted her to be in her commands. She is slow to respond, but seems to know them. She is not treat motivated, so that has made training more difficult too. They will keep working with her on her commands until it’s time for her to go to her forever home.

Cricket does know three extra tricks… ”Show Me Love,” “Kiss” and “Bow.” Her trainer feels that once she gets to her forever home, she will do so much better. Prison life just isn’t for Cricket.

Cricket is becoming more and more playful inside and outside. She plays with toys now. She likes to take them to her kennel to play. Early morning seems to be the time she wants to play the most. She doesn’t care for the rain, so if it is raining, she doesn’t want to go out.

Consistent Cricket

Cricket is adorable and progressing on her commands at a steady pace. She still will not sit on her own, but her trainer will keep working with her until she heads out the door to her forever home. Cricket does not respond well with authoritative voices, but does much better with a high pitched and happy voice.

Cricket has actually been the leader while running this week! Usually this sweet angel baby is a follower. She is a sweet and loving dog. Although, with all the loud noises in the dorm, she tends to be shy. Her trainer feels once she gets into her forever home, she will be so much happier.

Cricket, as you know, doesn’t have a lot of hair. She is the prettiest semi-hairless dog her trainer has ever seen. Her skin pattern is beautiful. Her trainer feels she needs baby sunscreen applied, if she’s outside for any amount of time.

Many thanks are sent to the family adopting this wonderful dog. You are going to cherish Cricket! Her trainer is so thankful for being given the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful experience. They will continue to work hard with Cricket on her “Sit” command. Keeping fingers crossed!!!

Strikingly Beautiful

Cricket is a sweet, sweet dog. She still resists the command “Sit.” However, she is working hard on the other commands. Cricket will perform “Down,” “Leave It,” “Bounce,” “Bed” and will “Wag Her Tail” until you are certain it will break off. LOL She makes everyone smile.

When she runs, she is usually a follower, but this morning she took the lead! Cricket loves to run in circles. Everyone loves to greet Cricket in the morning when she come out of her room. She makes sure she never misses anyone whether they want her love or not. It is too funny.

Cricket doesn’t have much hair but she is strikingly beautiful. Her skin color is phenomenal! Very pretty. All in all it is a pleasure, according to her trainer, to be with Cricket. Her new family is going to love her.

Progress Made

Cricket has made some progress this week. Yay! She has been working with another trainer as well as continuing to work with her primary trainer.  She has completed the “Sit” command on her own a couple of times but isn’t consistent with it just yet.  Cricket will go into a “Down” position when asked from the sitting position with help. She is learning “Stay” as well as “Here” and she is doing pretty good with these as well. Keep up the good work Cricket! We know you can do it.

Praise Motivated

Cricket loves to hang out on her bed, lounging the day away. She’s not a fan of all the loud noises at the prison, so she likes her crate as her safe haven. This way she can sit back, relax and watch everything. She’s a sweet girl with expressive ears and eyes..

Cricket’s training is going a little slow right now. She still isn’t treat motivated but does seem a little bit praise motivated so that is what they are using right now. Other primary trainers have given their suggestions, so Cricket’s trainer will try them out during the upcoming week.

She continues to love being outside and is most playful in the early morning. She plays well with the other dogs and also likes to do her own thing. Her personality comes out a little more everyday.

Sweet Little Cricket

Cricket is such a sweet and shy little girl.  She loves being outside and playing with other dogs, especially with her best buddy Saint.  Inside, and especially during training, she is a little less confident.  Because she’s unsure of herself ,she avoids making eye contact, and misses cues from her trainers sometimes.  Saint is going to start joining her during training, since he’s not only her best friend but also a star student.  Stay tuned for updates on how quickly her training progresses moving forward!

Growing Everyday

Cricket worked very hard this week and is continuing to make progress with her commands.  She is a little shy and the slippery floors in the training room gets her a little distracted, but she is a hard worker and never gives up.

Cricket decided to give toys a try this week and found out they are pretty fun to play with.  She also got a chance to run around and play off leash this week, and she was like a completely different dog outside.

Little Love Bug

Cricket is slowly getting used to Pulaski and all the changes in her life. Right now her trainer is working to build a bond with her before diving into training too deep. They are working on let’s go, hurry, kennel, release, wait and sit. Patience and time are key with Cricket. Like they say, “slow and steady wins the race.”

Cricket is a little love bug and loves to be outside.  She opens up so much when she’s outside in the yard. She hops around, spins and bounces.  She saw a horse the other day and wanted to get closer and closer until her nose was stuck through the fence. Silly girl. Cricket is going to be an amazing dog and her trainer can’t wait to see her personality shine through.

Loves Ear Scratches

Cricket has been working hard on adjusting to her new temporary home.  She is a little timid when it comes to the different noises at the prison. Things are so much different here than at the track.  She loves people and isn’t shy when it comes to that.  She likes getting behind her ears scratched and will lean her head into you while your scratching her.

Outside Cricket hops around like a bunny.  Her trainer said she seems moresrelaxed outside.  As time goes on her personality will shine and her trainer can’t wait.
