Living The Life Of Luxury

Wow!  What a week!  It was final exams this week and I aced them! You wouldn’t expect any less from wonderful me would you? My trainers have been spoiling me with lots of kibble, pettings and special treats.  I’ve been so happy and full of energy; jumping around and playing. Oh, one more thing,  I looooove toys!

My trainers say after graduation it will be life changing for me.  As if going to prison wasn’t life changing enough.  LOL. They keep on saying forever home.   I don’t know what that is, but if they are that excited for me, than so am I.  I hear I will be living the life of luxury. Lots of treats, beds and plenty of loving from my new family.  It sounds awesome and I can’t wait!

The Ideal Pup

This week, one swap team had the decadent joy of spending time with Dwin Alexa, or just Alexa as she is now called! Her swap week training team had no difficulty running through commands with her, and what they enjoyed the most was how affectionate she is. She was always making eye contact, ready to work you over for a tasty treat! Alexa spent a lot of time sitting out in the day room, where her swap week training team had the opportunity to observe how she interacts with other dogs and inmate trainers. She was so calm and so full of love! They are going to miss her so much, and have concluded that “Alexa is the ideal family dog!”

I'm So Excited And I Just Can't Hide it!

This has been a super week! I’ve been so hyper, happy and upbeat!!! Do you know why?  I heard whispers that graduation is coming and I’m in it! All the attention will be on ME!! Yay!  And after that, I get to go to my forever home.  I’m not sure what that is, but I hear it is going to be wonderful.  Well, gotta to.  I need to practice my leash walking and my big, sad, pet me eyes so everyone will fall in love with me!!!  See you soon.

Attention Hog

Alexa’s inmate trainer says that he has a lot of fun with her.  She’s learned all of her commands very quickly.  They go over them to keep her sharp and so she can earn a few treats. She loves to be loved on and likes to have all of your attention.  When it comes to play time she enjoys running after any toy or ball .  She likes to chase things.  He says it’s a real treat to watch her light up with excitement

Smart Girl

Everything is going as planned here at Jenkins. Maybe even better. I get tons of love, which includes all the hugs and petting I could ask for. I even get lots and lots of treats just for doing some simple things my trainer calls commands. I’m one lucky dog and I hear it’s going to be way cooler at my forever home in four short weeks. Time flies when you’re having a blast!

Show and tell is this week and I think I am going to score perfect 10’s. It’s time for me to show them that I’m not just a pretty face, but that I am smart and talented too! I’ll let you know how it goes next week.

Can't Wait To Meet You!

Hey there. it’s Alexa. I’m having a blast here at Jenkins and learning a lot of new things, like “sit”, “down”, “hurry”, “let’s go”, “wait” and so much more. My trainer said we are going to start on some extras. I can’t wait! Besides learning new things, I enjoyed some play time running on the big yard. I can tell you this is my favorite thing to do. Well one of my favorites. The other is getting loved on by everyone. Who knew going to prison could be so much fun.

My trainer tells me I’m going to have the best time of my life with my new forever family soon. So until then, I’ll keep learning all I can to be the best pup you could ask for. See you soon!

Ahead of the Curve

It’s only three weeks in and Alexa has already improved on a lot of her commands! She also had her first show and tell this week and did very well for her first time in front of a lot of people. She did everything she was told to do with no problems, and has improved on her “down” command this week. She’s even started playing with toys - she gets very playful when you bring them out! That’s all for now, check back next week to see what all the good dog fuss is about!

Love On Me

This week has come to an end and Alexa is progressing very fast with her commands. She has picked up on her name, leash walking, heel and sit. Her trainers will start working on down, wait and here this week. Alexa is a fast learner so she seems to be flying through the commands. Alexa started playing with toys this week. At first she wasn’t too sure about those fuzzy, stuffy, squeaky things, but once she tried them out, it’s all over. She’s now hooked on toys!!

Alexa is a sweetheart that very much loves to be loved on by everyone. She is also a very laid back pup. She is going to be an awesome fit in her forever home. Check back next week for more updates on this popular pup!

Working For The Weekend

When Alexa first arrived she was given a bath and had her ears cleaned.  Her inmate trainer says that she did great with the grooming and was happy to be clean.  She is adapting to her new temporary home just fine.   They’ve started working on leash walking and response to her new name.

Her inmate trainer plans to slowly start working in her commands with yummy treat rewards and fun playtimes as rewards too. More to come next week…
