I'm Adopted?!

Ranger is not the most active pup in the bunch.  He likes the start to a new day (the promise of breakfast….).  At times he gets silly and likes to hop/run in circles.  His inmate trainer says that it’s a sight to see and you can’t help but laugh at his antics!

He does great with his commands.  He’ll sit on command, but he likes to think about it first.  He prefers to be inside and enjoying the comfort of his comfy bed.  His inmate trainer says that she’s going to miss this goofy guy and hopes his new family has as much fun with him as she did!

Greyt Dog

Ranger has had a great week!  His inmate trainer says that Ranger becomes more playful each day!  He bounds across the room and hops like a bunny.  She says it’s truly a site to see! He has a few favorite stuffed toys that he plays with for a short time.   He’s really coming out of his shell as time passes.

He’s doing really well with is commands!  He’s still debating on following through with the sit command.  His inmate trainer says they’ll continue working on this one until it becomes second nature.  He loves attention, but is not a big fan of being hugged around the head.  He seems to be a little more shy with men than with women and when it’s bath time he likes to lay down.  He thinks he should relax while at the spa… you know like they do on TV.

His inmate trainer says that Ranger is a great dog who she’s enjoyed working with!

Laid Back Lad

Ranger is doing great with his basic commands. He has not mastered sit, but he knows he’s supposed to do something, because he stares up at you with those big brown eyes. Ranger has gotten really good about being in his kennel.

Ranger has started to play with the plush toys. He will even try to bring them back to his trainer. He enjoys playtime in the mornings when it’s cool. He does not like bugs.

Ranger’s #1 activity is laying on the big doggie beds. He’s a lazy laid back boy that’s taking full advantage of retirement.

Relaxing In Retirement

Ranger’s inmate trainer says that Ranger continues to amaze her!  He always reminders her that he is retired and that means his number one priority is laying around relaxing.  She says he will literally lay around all day if she’d let him.  He’s happy as long as he’s near his human.

He’s not a huge fan of sitting.  He’ll sit just fine as long as his inmate trainer scoops him and helps him sit, but he really sees no need do it own his own.  They’ll keep working on this one and he’ll come around to the fun side of sitting.

In other news, he’s started playing with toys!  They’re working on him returning the toys, but right now it’s more of a game of chase.  Being outside is okay, but when it’s hot he’d much rather live the life of a pampered pooch and be in the climate-controlled environment.

Having The Time Of His Life

Ranger has morphed into a puppy!  He’s having the time of his life!  He loves to play with his inmate trainer, but nap times are still top on his list.  He hasn’t fallen in love with any toys yet, but may catch on soon to fun to be had with those squeaky fluffs.

Training is progressing nicely.  He knows his commands, but likes to do them on his own time.  No need to rush and you’ll have time to see how fabulous his performance is.  He’s almost to pro level with the stairs, well as long as the human starts up them with him.  Strength in numbers and all.

He’s a gentle boy who loves everyone he meets.  He gets along well with the other dogs, but let’s be honest they don’t dish out the treats the way the humans do, so if he had to pick a favorite it’d definitely be the humans!

I'll Race You....To A Bed

Ranger loves to be petted and will stand by you all day long, if you are petting him. He also likes to lay beside you and relax more than anything. Ranger hasn’t shown any interest in plush toys or balls just yet. He likes his blanket and will drag it around wherever he goes.

Ranger is smart, but can be a stubborn little boy when it comes to working. He’s retired after all. Ranger thought that meant it was going to be all fun and games and no work. LOL

Ranger is a wonderful dog and his trainer can’t wait to see what the journey holds for him.

Enjoys The Great Outdoors

Ranger has been working on teaching his inmate trainer a few things.  He’s teaching her how to provide treats when he does a good job.  She’s also learning that he knows his commands, but he likes to do things on his own time.  His inmate trainer says that she gives him a command, he looks at her then gazes out the window for a bit before following through.  She says he’s such a mess.

Ranger’s not a huge fan of thunderstorms.  He gets a little restless until they’re over.  He loves being outside smelling the breeze and enjoying all the sights.   When leash walking he can do a bit a pulling when an interesting smell perks his interest.  His inmate trainer is working to show him he can still smell all the wonderful things while walking at her side.

Love Bug

Another exciting week with Ranger!  Ranger’s inmate trainer says that Ranger can be a little on the stubborn side when it comes to training.  His inmate trainer thinks it’s because he’s nosy.  He’s got to be in the know and likes to watch all things going on.

He knows bed really well and they are currently working on sit and down.  He’s a love bug who wants to be near his human as much as possible.  He’ll go in his kennel when requested, but prefers life on the outside… laying in his bed and being accessible for petting and attention.

Ranger has a great appetite, but can be a bit of a messy eater.  He gets along well with the other dogs, but can be a little shy when meeting new humans.  His inmate trainer says that she can’t wait to see how the journey unfolds!

Handsome Devil

Ranger’s trainer said she didn’t think she could love another dog more than the last, she is proven wrong. Ranger is a stunning boy that has his trainer laughing all the time. Right from the start, he was bunny hopping around everyone; Giving kisses to all and making anyone who walked by, love on him.

Ranger is very nosy, but a little shy at times. He’s not afraid of anything if you are by his side. Ranger did wonderful in his crate during the night. He is truly a handsome devil and his trainer can’t wait to see how he progresses during the training session.
