Graduation Is Here

The last week is an exciting and sad week.  Cutter's inmate trainer says that Cutter struts around with a sense of pride, and can be as playful as a kitten.  His inmate trainer says that Cutter is a wonderful companion and is his favorite Greyhound. He says that he’s had a rough couple of months and Cutter has pulled him through.  Everything about Cutter has been supportive, from his calmness to his playfulness and everything in-between!

His inmate trainer says that Cutter loves to chew bones!  They alternate between three different bones and Cutter acts like they’re all new!  His inmate trainer says that Cutter acts like every day is Christmas!

Cutter is one smart boy and knows how to perform the following commands: hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, heel, here, sit, down, stay, bed, jump, bow, paws up, show me love, visit, leave it, give, drop and speak!

His inmate trainer says that Cutter is a one-of-a-kind dog and he is going to miss him very much!

Playing The Days Away

Cutter spent time with an alternate inmate handler for swap week this week!  Her alternate handler says that Cutter is well trained, but can be a little stubborn on the sit command.  He will comply, but just a little slower than with the other commands.  He responds well to all of his commands with verbal only or hand signal only cues.  His alternate handler says that Cutter can get really playful and will speak to you in doggie barks.

His alternate inmate handler enjoyed his time with Cutter and believes that his new forever family will fall fast for this sweet guy.

Nascar Laps

Cutter is doing great and his inmate trainer is so proud of him!  He finds it hard to believe that it’s been eight weeks already and training will soon be over.  He sayts it’s going to be hard to see Cutter leave, but knows he has a wonderful future ahead of him.

Cutter loves to learn and hasn’t stopped learning yet.  This week he learned how to speak and bow!  He can get excited at times and will run in circles that his inmate trainer calls Nascar laps!

His inmate trainer says that he is honored to have had the opportunity to watch Cutter’s personality grow.  He knows that Cutter’s new family will fall in love him just as he has.

Toys!

Cutter has fallen in love.  A toy rabbit and a toy goose have stolen his heart and he gets really excited over both of them.  He loves them so much that his inmate trainer has started using play time with them as a reward for training.

With recent storms moving through it has been discovered that Cutter does not like lightning and booming thunder.  His inmate trainer uses a thunder shirt to help alleviate the stress and he says it works wonders for Cutter.

His inmate trainer says that Cutter is a wonderful companion and he’s going to make someone very happy.

Fine Tuning

Cutter is now sitting on command!  Now it’s time to fine tune commands and his ability to handle different situations.

Currently Cutter knows hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, and bed really well!  He’s a little slow responding to heel, here, sit, down, stay, and jump but his inmate trainer knows he’ll have these commands down in no time.  Cutter also has a few extras under his belt, errr fur, errr hat… uh... he's doing really well with visit, leave it, give, drop, paw’s up, and show me love.  What a smart guy!

Cutter’s inmate trainer says that Cutter has been a wonderful companion providing much needed emotional support in the last few weeks.  He’s very thankful to have this amazing dog to train.

Mr. Cool

Cutter is a one cool guy!  His inmate trainer says that Cutter has a pretty fantastic “stay” along with his awesome personality!  This week Cutter and his inmate trainer are working on distance, duration, and distractions.  His trainer says that incorporating additional challenges will help Cutter after he leaves the prison program.

His inmate trainer is proud to report that Cutter is sitting at mealtimes and is holding the sit position like a champ!  Jump was introduced this week to help Cutter get in and out of vehicles and other various platforms he may encounter. Cutter is doing really well with all of his commands and has even learned leave it, give, drop, shown me love, visit and paws up as extra commands!

Hold On To Your Heart

Cutter has been doing great!  His inmate trainer has fallen head over heels for this amazing boy!  He says that Cutter is a great friend and wonderful companion.  Cutter is showing great improvement with the stay and bed commands!  He has no problems waiting at thresholds and meeting new people.  He loves attention so his inmate trainer is introducing the command “show me love” and “visit.”  His inmate trainer believes that Cutter will be sitting on his own very soon.

As training continues distractions are being increased and his inmate trainer is proud to report that Cutter is doing really well! His trainer says that Cutter has a lot of potential and he can’t wait to see this diamond shine!

Training For Praise

Cutter is doing a great job with his basic commands and picking up some nice extras!  This week his inmate trainer introduced "show me love" and it turns out to be a command that Cutter really enjoys!  Cutter is an attention freak so doing things to please his human and receive praise is number one in his book!  He is also showing great improvement with the stay and recall commands.

His inmate trainer says that Cutter is your typical hound who loves to sleep and has high energy spurts that lasts a few minutes.  He does some really funny Nascar laps in the big yard or acts like his tail is on fire bolting off in weird direction!

His inmate trainer plans to start working on the sit command soon.  He believes that Cutter is already figuring it out as he acts like he wants to sit on his own.

Attention Seeker

Cutter has adapted well to his current surroundings and training is coming along nicely!  He’s a happy boy and loves the company of his inmate trainer.  Cutter gets a little exited at meal times and when being let out of his kennel, but his inmate trainer is working to slow Cutter down and gain a few manners before meals!

Cutter loves to run in the big yard, but hasn’t shown in interest in toys yet.  So far it appears to be affection that Cutter craves!   His training is progressing steadily and he’s eager to learn!  Of course, the treats are a nice added bonus!  His inmate trainer says that Cutter has a great attention span which makes training so much easier.

Cutter does great with the medical team and doesn’t mind grooming.  He just stands there like a champ while having his paws checked and teeth brushed.

Training For Retirement

Cutter is an energetic fast learning guy who loves to work for praise!  His inmate trainer says that Cutter already knows his name, kennel and bed very well!  In fact, he's fallen in love with the doggie beds!  His inmate trainer says they're like the Serta mattress of doggie beds.

Cutter has a beautiful black coat.  His inmate trainer says that it's the darkest shade of black with an amazing sheen and so soft to touch.  He says that Cutter loves affection and he can't wait to see this amazing guy at his full potential!
