Lady does not mind vacuuming
/Unlike my boy Finn, Lady is not scared of anything. She loves everyone and everything.
Unlike my boy Finn, Lady is not scared of anything. She loves everyone and everything.
Harper is trying to get Lady’s order. Lady loves to eat.
Crocs just reproduce around here.
Even my boy loves Lady’s crocs. And Lady tends to drag out Finn’s chicken, frog, and lamb. They share toys but Lady is very particular about her bed. She does not share. lol
Lady is a wonderful Lady. She is obsessed with her croc toys. She has 4 of them. Lady loves attention and gets along well with my Finn. She enjoys peanut butter and loves her walks. Lady has a lot of energy and greets visitors with so much love.
Lady's training session at Second Chance Greyhounds Academy is almost to a close. She is a wonderful dog who is always eager to tackle any activity; whether it be practicing her basic commands or just taking a walk around the big yard working on her "heel" and "stay". Her first love is still playing with toys. It's toys, toys, toys for this lady. She loves balls, kongs and stuffed animals.
Lady never meets a stranger and ALWAYS greets you with a wagging tail. Her trainer will miss her when she goes to her forever home. He has learned a lot from Lady and he will never forget her. Get ready for a fun-loving gal!!
This week was swap week for the pups. During swap week, each team trades dogs with other teams for the purpose of testing them for separation anxiety and to ensure that they will obey their commands for others. When Lady's swap week trainer was informed that he would be getting to train her, he was overjoyed. Just from second hand experience of being around her in the dorm was enough for him to know that she would be absolute joy to work with. And he was not disappointed! Lady is such an incredible, fun-loving girl. As hardheaded as she may be at times, it is all just because she is so curious. Energetic doesn't do her justice when it comes to adjectives used to describe her. The first day her swap week trainer had her and went to feed her, he put the bowl of food on the top of the kennel and began to give her commands - and she leapt on top of the kennel and off the other side! She learned her lesson of course, but deep down it was incredibly funny and entertaining. These dogs have so much personality. Lady's new forever home will have so many adventures with this girl!
Lady loves everyone! Yes. I mean everyone! She is a good natured, friendly, outgoing, all around great hound. You are going to love her too. Her trainer said these last 8 weeks have flown by and he is so glad he got to play a part in training Lady. She makes a dreary day a lot brighter. He will miss her.
Lady loves to take walks and play as well. Her favorite toys are a "kong" and the "jolly ball". She also loves to play with stuffed animal toys. A few things you may want to consider before bringing her home. I know you are counting down the days.
It was an exciting week with Lady. Sometimes it seems a greyhound may have trouble catching on to a particular bit of training, and then all of a sudden it clicks. This was definitely true with Lady in a couple of areas; leash walking and the "boo" command. Her trainer gave her the signal for "boo" and she immediately flopped over and covered her face all by herself. It was priceless! This is definitely a time where perseverance paid off. It was a proud moment for her trainer and exactly why he continues to train these wonderful greyhounds.
Lady is where she should be in her training. She knows all of her commands and her trainer will work with her until they are perfect. Next week is swap week and Lady is ready for it!
Lady has continued to progress well over the last week. She loves to be walked, and it seems if she had her way, they would spend the majority of the time just walking.
She loves to play with her ball. (It is a heavy duty model). It is about the size of a regular kickball and Lady has a great time with it as well as her Kong. She enjoys spending time just playing and trying to find the Kong, which her trainer will sometimes place under a pillow. Lady is a very loving and curious dog, who is quick to perk her ears up at the world. She will make a great addition to her forever family.
Second Chance Greyhounds has been a benefit and great opportunity for both lady and her trainer. She has learned so much in such a short time. Only four more weeks to go and Lady will be home!!
This past week Ms. Patti paid the prison a visit to see how they greyhounds are doing with their commands and make sure they are where they need to be. Lady showed tremendous improvement and proved she is a very smart greyhound. Top of her class? Maybe...
Lady knows all of her basic commands so her trainer has introduced an extra command. It is called "Boo!" This is where she falls on her side and places her paws over her face, as if she's hiding. It's adorable, just like Lady!
Be prepared to embrace lots of love and excitement from Lady upon meeting her. She thoroughly enjoys it. Anywhere with lots of people will make Lady one happy girl!
Lady is a playful girl and puts a smile on any face she meets! She loves to play and have fun, but buckles down when it's time for training. Her manners have greatly improved since arriving at Second Chance Academy. She will now sit for any toy she wants, instead of jumping on you. All eyes are on her trainer while waiting to be told she can have her food bowl. He loves to watch her come bounding, full stride to get to him, when he calls her name. It's priceless!
Her trainer is so proud of how far Lady has come in only 4 weeks. He can't imagine how anxious Lady's adoptive family is to see her. Only 6 more weeks... 6 more LONG weeks. Hang in there. It's worth the wait!
Another successful week with our Country Girl, Lady. She tackled stair training as if she had been doing it her whole life. Her commands are also coming along nicely and she is more accustomed to doing them for the other trainers. She knows hurry, release, heel. sit, down and bed, well. She needs improvement on let's go, kennel, wait, here, stay and jump. No worries. There's plenty of time to improve on them. She's a smart girl.
Lady absolutely loves her red Kong toy. If given the opportunity, her trainer is sure she would chew on it for hours. Toys, Toys, Toys. Lady dreams of toys. A new forever home with lots of new toys. Hint, Hint...
When on a leash, Lady likes to be in the lead to check out what's around the next corner, so her trainer is working on leash etiquette. She's improving every day and will be a pro in no time.
Playtime! It seems this is always at the front of Lady's mind. After each training session, her trainer makes sure to give her the time she needs to play. She goes wild for any toys she lays eyes on, though he tries to find one of the most durable ones. Right now they're working on manners. While playing, to be sure she does not jump on you to get the toy, he has her focus on him and she now has to sit politely before the toy is thrown to her.
Regarding her basic commands, they've been perfecting what she learned last week. So these commands are sit, down, heel and wait, and these are being ingrained into her mind early on in the session. She's picking up on the commands so easily. Lady is fully adjusted to life here already. Her adopters are very lucky to have this beautiful Greyhound as part of their family. Her trainer hears so many comments on how she has such a unique coloring and beautiful coat. More updates to come on our pretty Lady next week!
Lady came to us with her tail wagging and it still has yet to stop! She is such a happy go lucky girl with every intention of investigating everything she can get her nose into (and for needle nose dogs like Greyhounds, that’s a lot of stuff!).
This ready-to-go attitude has allowed for a tremendous advantage in training. She has already accomplished sit, down, bed and wait. Show Lady a treat (especially a marshmallow) and she runs through everything she knows just to earn it!
During feeding time one evening, she was so excited she nearly jumped on top of her kennel. She had so many of the trainers laughing. So far she has acclimated well and is enjoying the lazy days of retirement. We are looking forward to the next 10 weeks of time and memories to be made with this gorgeous brindle gal!
