Toys for Days

Bowie is so sweet and smart. He loves to play with every toy he comes across, and enjoys playing more than eating. It only took a day or two for him to adapt to his new trainer during swap week, so he's sure to be ready for his new forever family with no problems. He is going to make a wonderful addition to your family and is wagging his tail with excitement for the highly anticipated graduation ceremony!

One Of A Kind Awesome Boy!

Bowie is ready to come home with you! He did great on his final testing this past weekend and is antsy to leave for his forever home. You could not ask for a more loving dog. He loves to lay his head on his trainer's lap and look up at him while being petted and praised. He's in heaven. Bowie has come a long way in just a short time.  His trainer is super proud of him.

It is easy to get Bowie excited and easier still to calm him back down. He is such a great Greyhound. You can't go wrong with this sweet, smart cute boy. Don't miss your chance to take Bowie home.  He is one of a kind!

Let's Dance!

Bowie is nearing graduation and his trainer sure is going to miss him. Bowie is one of the most loving dogs he's ever been around. As much as this guy likes treats (he is so eager to please), he really lives for praise and attention. His training is progressing wonderfully and he is so much fun to watch during playtime. His trainer wants you to know that he hopes you enjoy his greyt personality as much as he has - whoever gets this handsome guy is one lucky family!

Love At First Sight

Bowie is just a sweet, sweet boy.  His trainer took him to the training room with one of the other greyhounds to play.  Bowie didn't mind sharing his toys and he even shared his bed.  He is doing great with his training too.  He knows "hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "release", "wait", "heel", "here", "sit", 'down", "stay", "bed" and "jump".  Bowie enjoys relaxing in his kennel and taking it all in.  When he gets excited and starts to "roo", you can't help but laugh at this silly boy.  He is just letting you know it's playtime and he's ready to get up and go.

Bowie loves affection, praise and a nice belly rub now and then.  And don't forget the neck scratches.  Bowie thinks they are the bomb! (best).

Bowie's trainer is excited to hear he has a forever home waiting for him after graduation.  You are going to wonder where he has been all of your life.  He is looking foward to for many years of belly rubs, treats, and lots of love and attention.  It will be love at first sight.

Sweet Boy

Bowie has had a great week at school! He discovered the joy of playing with the other dogs and has shown no signs of aggression. He is a very sweet little guy - he actually prefers to give up his toy if is playmate goes for it, then Bowie just finds another one. His testing has gone well and his trainer is constantly having to pass along compliments to Bowie about what beautiful eyes he has. Bowie makes lots of positive eye contact for extended periods of time - you could get lost in those peepers! He is making progress every day and can't wait to come home with you.

Bowie Says "Roo"

Bowie is doing greyt!  He knows all of his commands well. His trainer is going to work more on his "stay" command in the coming weeks. He discovered toys this week and loves his squeaky elephant. He will carry his elephant around with him after play time. He is less shy and is starting to be very playful. When he gets excited he now starts to "roo" at his trainer. It's adorable when he gets down in his pounce position and starts wagging his tail back and forth. Bowie can be such a silly boy.

Bowie likes treats, but not as much as attention and praise. He is good company to have around and will make a loving pet for some lucky family.

Loving Some Neck Scratches.

Bowie has done fantastic this week!  He has made a lot of progress on his commands and has begun to come out of his shell.  He is a very calm dog, but also very loving and friendly.  When walking around the dorm with his inmate trainer, Bowie wants to visit with everyone in his path., dog and human alike.

So far Bowie is unsure of toys, but his trainer will work on that in the coming weeks. Bowie loves praise, petting and having his coat brushed.  He's a sucker when it comes to the sides of his neck. He will stand there as long as you keep brushing him.  He's a sweet, special boy and his trainer knows he will be a great addition to someone's life.

Tail Wagging and Ready To Play

This past week Bowie hit another milestone in his coming-of-age.  He wagged his tail!  It was on the big yard when he was running with the other Greyhounds.  His trainer called his name.  Bowie bowed, pranced around, then ran towards his trainer and started chasing him.  His trainer really didn't want to run while carrying Bowie's leftovers in his hand.  But when he saw the goofy grin Bowie wore and his tail wagging away, he just simply couldn't rob him of this moment.  When you are the primary trainer, you sometimes have to make sacrifices and this was one of them.  LOL

Bowie is learning all of his commands with ease.  "Jump" will be a labor of love, but Bowie's trainer is confident he will continue to inspire and endear himself to all the inmates up until graduation.

Bowie the Hero

Week 2 has arrived and Bowie is right where he should be (and he's ahead in some ways). He walks by your side on and off the leash, he doesn't pull or get ahead of you, and he's already learned "leave it."

Bowie's trainer decided to take things slower with Bowie that he has with previous dogs, being careful not to push him too far and lose trust. But Bowie, as it turns out, is already full of surprises and is adapting to his new environment very well.

He's also found that he really likes being petted and that a good scratch can be intoxicating. He is learning to relax whether it's on the dog bed, on the leash, or in the kennel. His big, beautiful eyes, his feature that truly struck his trainer upon first meeting - the way his eyes immediately connected and seemingly bore through his own eyes (Bowie makes LOTS of positive eye contact!). He has softened, and his eyes contain a flicker of excitement and healthy curiosity. He no longer whines in the kennel when the cover is on for long periods of time. In fact, his trainer lifted the cover and caught him in lounge mode lying on his back!

He's also starting to show his sense of humor. In all of this Bowie does with increasing gusto, day by day. He's incredibly sweet, good-natured, and affectionate.

His trainer believes that Bowie is very brave. He has adapted to his new environment and accepted the changes that it entails. Bowie is training for his forever home: your home. Give Bowie the second chance that he's working so hard for - he deserves it.

A Real Starman

This gorgeous Greyhound has been renamed Bowie, as in David Bowie. Not sure what inspired the name, reported his inmate trainer, but he thinks it was those soulful eyes. Bowie is very laid back and very sweet. He's a little shy and unsure but that will improve every day. Bonding with this dog is easy to do because he is so incredibly sweet. They're working together early on in the session to avoid any potential obstacles. Bowie doesn't pull on the leash and he's already heeling and waiting at thresholds. He's very trainable and obedient. Loving Bowie is easy for everyone who's come into contact with him.
