Sweet And Loving Pup

The last week with Bruiser has been bittersweet for his trainers. What will be missed most is watching him mess up his bed. He likes to mess it up by kicking around his pillows and blanket. It’s hysterical.

Bruiser enjoys playing with a ball outside. He waits excitedly for you to throw the ball, then he runs as fast as he can to fetch it. After he catches it he will run around the yard a couple of times carrying it with him.

Once Bruiser gets a taste of a treat he likes, he is eager to do whatever you ask to get more. Bruiser will answer to his commands with others and strangers. When he does his extra trick “Bang Bang,” it is so cute. He whimpers and talks as if he does not want to do it, but eventually he will.

Bruiser is a sweet and loving “young old man.” He will be missed by others here. Bruiser is very sociable, loving and playful with others. Once you start petting him, he doesn’t want you to stop.

He will be greatly missed by his trainers.

Crazy About Spinning

Over this past week, Bruiser has played and relaxed. He enjoys chasing his toys and pouncing on them to make them squeak. As soon as he hears a toy squeaking, he is gone. Bruiser goes on a mission to find them.

Bruiser is funny when it comes to doing “Which hand.” His trainer has to tap his paw, basically telling him to use his paw to tell her “Which Hand” the treat is in.

When outside, Bruiser sometimes gets in a wild mood and starts spinning around in crazy circles. Come on and play with me!

All in all Bruiser is an amazing dog. His trainer will miss him very much. He is very smart and eager to learn. Bruiser is a great friend and loves to listen as you rub him. He is both sweet and gentle. When it comes to treats he gets so excited. Watching him “Leave It,” (it being the treat) is very funny. He will stare at it until you release him.

Bruiser will be greatly missed by others in the dorm as well.

So Many Tricks

Bruiser is an all around amazing and smart pup. He is a great friend that listens attentively, or at least until you ask him to do some commands. LOL He is a lazy boy and super silly. He thinks that he can look at and whine towards the water and/or food bowls and they will come to him. Eventually he will get up and go to them.

Today his trainer went over all of his commands including the extra ones. Bruiser did so well! Bruiser is very smart. He has learned so many extra tricks! There are too many to name here, but it is a page full! His trainer is puzzled as to why he will not sit, unless it is just too uncomfortable for him. She is not giving up though.

Bruiser enjoys playing. He is either playful and energetic or asleep. He has no problems with being in his kennel. When he forms a bond with you, it is so sweet. He will watch his trainer every where she goes, then run up to her with his tail wagging and a big smile.

When Bruiser is in his kennel, he perks up at the sound of his trainer’s voice. As the weeks begin to wind down his trainer knows that she will truly miss him after he has gone to his new home and family. She is happy for his new adventure.

Such A Blast

Bruiser has excelled all of this week! His “Sit” is not spot on, but he is getting the concept and should have it figured out very soon. He is no longer stubborn when it comes to the “Here” command. He will come with called out on the play yard. This week he learned how to “Speak” and “Count” on command. He likes to copy what you do. Bruiser is very smart and catches on quick. He does know how to “Spin” and “Bounce.”

Bruiser still enjoys playing throughout the day. He enjoys playing alone with toys or with others. When it comes to having a new toy in his possession he acts funny, as if to say, “this is mine, don’t touch.”

He is not big on heights, so getting him to “Jump” has been a task, but he will get it down. Again, he is a smart pup. Bruiser will answer to commands when asked by another person. He plays the slow card, but will eventually perform the commands.

Bruiser is a blast to hang with all day long. He is nosey and likes to sniff out everything. He is spoiled with love and play time.

Bruiser Bounces

If you want a good laugh, watch Bruiser play in the morning. He has a ball, throwing around his toys and messing up his bed area. He will try to wake you up and take anything off of your bed that he can get.

Bruiser would rather play inside than outside. He will run around for a minute, but he is quick to want to go back inside. He tries his best to keep up with the other dogs, but he is not too fast. That’s ok. He will be quick to steal your heart.

Training is going great. He knows most of his basic commands. This week he learned “bounce”.

Star Student

Bruiser has had some big successes in training this week.  He’s had most of his commands down for a while, but was just so confused by what his trainers wanted when they told him to sit!  This week it was like a lightbulb went off and he knew exactly what they’d been asking for.  Great job Bruiser. We knew you could do it.

Bruiser is an early bird and loves to run and play in the mornings while it’s still cool out.  In the afternoons he prefers to lounge and nap.  He is a very smart and funny dog, who will follow his trainers around being silly to try and get their attention.

Sweet And Playful

Bruiser is a very sweet and playful dog. Every day his personality shines through more and more. It’s funny to sit back and watch him play with his toy. He will pounce on it over and over, eventually picking it up, to sling it around.

Training is slow and steady with Bruiser. He is somewhat treat motivated. He knows hurry let’s go, kennel, release, wait, down, stay, bed and leave it. Heel, here and sit are a work in progress, but his trainer knows he will have them all figured out by graduation.

Bruiser enjoys being outside playing with the others. He loves running to the fence for attention when someone is walking past. He gets his exercise running from one side to the other.

Handsome Boy

Bruiser has taken well to the new changes. There are more people around now so it is louder and a lot more is going on. He seems to have adjusted just fine. He enjoys playing early in the mornings before it heats up outside.

Training went much better for Bruiser this week. He is showing more attention to his trainer, the treats and what she is asking of him. He knows many of his basic commands and he has also learned “Kiss.”

Bruiser enjoys being outside playing and running. He doesn’t like to stay out for too long in the heat. He plays well with the other dogs.

Bruiser’s trainer said that each day their bond is growing and that is always nice. She has noticed that he enjoys plenty of attention. He has begun to sass in the morning like he is saying, “get up” and “let’s play.”

Stairs Accomplished

Bruiser is finally coming out of his shell! He enjoys playing with the toys. Squeak one and he is up and ready to play. It is fun watching him enjoy himself.

Bruiser has accomplished going up and down the stairs! He takes his time, but soon he will be stepping with confidence. Training is moving a bit slow. Bruiser is not treat or toy motivated just yet, so his trainer is trying to find a yummy treat or something else that motivates him.

Bruiser walks great on a leash inside and outside. His trainer says that Bruiser is very sociable, happy and loving. He doesn’t mind walking up to someone to say hello. He is very happy standing or laying while enjoying a good petting session.

His trainer is happy to see Bruiser settle in his new environment. He seems comfortable and content. It took him only a week. Now he is playful and laidback. This coming week they hope to find something that will help to motivate Bruiser in his training. He does know quite a few basic commands and they will continue working on the rest. Until next week…

Very Handsome Boy!

Bruiser came in very energetic and curious of everything. He was picking up random things in his trainer’s room. He did listen with a few “Leave It” commands and eventually left things alone. He is learning!

Bruiser is a very handsome white and brindle fellow. He is so sweet and gentle. His ears stand up on high alert with any noise. They are working on the stair challenge and hopefully by the end of the week he will have it mastered.

Bruiser is a very light sleeper and wakes even to the turning of a page. He is enjoying his new bed set that consists of foam beds, blankets, pillows and toys galore. He has no problem going in his kennel to sleep.

Bruiser likes being outside sniffing around. He acts as if he has never walked on pavement before, but he handles it well now. Before he would dart to the grass as soon as they walked out the door. So far he is very friendly and sociable with both the other dogs and people.

His trainer is looking forward to bonding and training with Bruiser but the best moment will be seeing his personality shine through and him enjoying his retired life.
