I'm a cutie and I know it!

Deneen is ready for her next step in life…forever family and home. She has mastered all her basic commands and has learned how to give her human a “kiss”. Who’s up for a greyhound kiss?

Deneen is a playful girl and loves her squeaky toys but is very gentle when you ask her to “give” you the toy. Her trainers say she is the best dog and they are going to miss her a lot. She’s just so loving and sweet. Whoever adopts this cutie is in for a real treat!

Dreaming of a forever home...

Swap week time which means it time for an adventure! The inmates swap dogs so the training teams have a chance to see how the dogs do without their primary trainer.  Do they follow commands well from someone new?  Can the new training team trouble shoot a training issue if needed?  It gives the dogs a chance to experience things at a different pace.

Now, Deneen received perfect 10’s from the judges for her show-n-tell performance! Her alternate inmate trainer says that Deneen was a lot of fun to work with.  She’s loving and affectionate.  Every person she sees is an opportunity to get attention!  She enjoys all sorts of squeaky toys and is always very patient before receiving the toy.

Deneen gets really excited when it’s time to do an activity.  She knows the treats are coming!  She loves walking by her human’s side. Her alternate trainer says that wherever Deneen goes she’s gonna be happy and she’s gonna spread that happiness to her new family.

Oodles of Joy

Working with Miss Deneen this week went very well! She does all of her commands well and gets better at them every day. She is such a smart dog! She has been learning some extra commands and she is doing great with those. Deneen is a very affectionate girl and looks at you with oodles of love in her gorgeous brown eyes. And those cute ears! You can’t help but fall in love!

Deneen loves to play with toys and gets so excited with it’s time to get down like a clown in the toy zone. So if you’re the lucky duck bringing her home, have some ready and prepare yourself for hours of amusement!

Happy Go Lucky

Deneen has learned her basic commands very well, especially in a calm environment. She’s making progress with still obeying even when excited, especially with toys, which are by far her biggest motivator. Of course she is still an absolute love bug and knows how to use those big brown eyes to get attention and loving. But with her happy-go-lucky attitude, that’s not even necessary. Attention finds its way to her no matter what!

After nearly two months with her, her trainer is confident that she will make an amazing pet and a cherished member of her forever family!

Keep The Treats Coming!

Deneen is a loving girl who enjoys getting attention for her humans.  Her inmate trainer says that it’s hard not to fall in love with her!  He says that she’s wonderful to be around and training her has been a real treat!  She’s doing really well with all of her commands.  She has mastered most all of them. She’s still a little slow following through with heel, but she’ll have that down pat in no time.  She already knows many of the commands with both verbal and hand signal cues!

Her inmate trainer says that Deneen loves to eat, so training with treats is much easier.  Now, she does think that she needs a yummy reward with every cute thing she does.  She so stinkin’ adorable her inmate trainer walks around like a treat-dispensing machine!

Darling Deneen

Hi everyone, it's your delightful Deneen! I'm really enjoying my stay here. They are teaching me a lot of neat commands, which this week I did all but two of them perfectly! And that was even in the play roo- errrr, I mean TRAINING room. Oh, let's just admit it - everyone prefers to play over work, right? At least I do! Although I gotta admit that eating, especially the special treats our trainers have, is a close second. Of course loving is good any time of day, too.

I especially like it out on my bed in the evening after a busy day when I've used up all, well, MOST, of my energy. I mean, can you really expect me to sit good on my bed early in the day when I'm all charged up? And especially if there's NEW people to say hi to and love on?! That's why I like to wind down in my bed at night instead.

As much as I like it here, my trainers said I'm halfway done and then I'll be in an even better place called "home" with just a few people called a "forever family." And those people are gonna give me a lot of attention and love, and they'll play with me, too! I can't wait to meet them and stay with them!

Until then, delightfully yours,

Deneen!

Show time!

This week was Deneen’s first show and tell - that’s when the dogs do the commands in front of all their classmates and the whole training squad! Deneen did great, showing near mastery of almost every command.

She continues to enjoy being out and about in the dorm, visiting people, giving and getting affection. And don’t forget winding down on the bed next to the humans while they watch TV in the evening! She seems to enjoy it more and more every time.

Her trainer is continually impressed with how loving, happy and eager to please she is, along with being such a quick learner. Deneen is a wonderful dog and will be a great lifelong friend to everyone in her forever family!

Gimme Some Loving

Deneen continues to make good progress with all her commands. Ms. Patti came to visit this weekend and even with all the excitement of that, Deneen did her thing. Her trainer was very proud of her.

Deneen loves playtime. She loves toys most of all, yet is doing well learning to “give” them up when asked. She never seems to tire of toys and would probably play with them as long as you let her. With that being said, she hasn’t lost any motivation for treats or affection either. She’s been out walking the dorm with her trainer and loves to visit with the other trainers to get and give affection. She also likes a little TV time with her trainers. Of course, she loves being out of her kennel and near everyone. Free loving and pets from anyone. This girl is all in!

The more time her trainer spends with Deneen, the more confident he is that she will be a greyt addition to her forever family. Get ready to play with and love on Ms. Deneen. The beautiful brown-eyed girl!

Gimme the squeak toys, and free my soul

The first full week with Deneen has gone very well. She seems eager to please and is learning her commands at a good rate, including “down” which is one of the toughest ones! She has also learned “give” very well, and since she is very motivated by toys, that will be useful. So far, she hasn’t met a ball or a squeaky toy she doesn’t like!

She also hasn’t met a person she doesn’t like. She enjoys getting attention and affection whenever it is offered, and has her snuggly moments when she’ll put her head against you or reach with her paw if you stop petting her! This delightful Deneen has been a pleasure to have so far, and her trainer is looking forward to the remaining weeks with this gorgeous gal - but not looking forward to having to give her up! He is sure, however, that her forever family can’t wait to have her, and that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Brown-eyed Girl

Deneen’s inmate trainer says that his first impression of Deneen is that she is a very friendly and confident girl.  So far she seems most motivated by affection with treats coming in second place.  She hasn’t been trained with toys yet, but does perk up when she hears the squeak.  She seems eager to please and her inmate trainer is very impressed with how quickly she learned “bed” before coming out of the kennel.

He says that Deneen is completely adorable with her little white bib on her chest and racing stripe on her back right hip.  She has a cute little ear quirk where her left ear stays laid back like normal, but her right ear lays forward.  Prepare yourself though, because her most powerful feature are those big adoring brown eyes!
