A New World for Achilles

This is Achilles’ last blog entry and his trainer knows that this valiant, handsome pooch will steal your heart right away. Achilles and his curiosity will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside (just in time for the winter chill) and once you let this greyhound into your life, be ready to consider him your child - he’s so full of love! Achilles holds such a special place in his trainer’s heart and his trainer wants you to know that he has become the best dog he can be. You will be so amazed every day by Achilles and his sparkling personality!

Sweetest Boy Alive!

This week Achilles spent some quality time with his swap week trainer. He did all of his commands with no problems at all! He is a very sweet dog and loves to be loved on - and he REALLY loves playing with toys. His favorites are the red cones. He will be very excited to get to his forever home and you will love to spend time with this guy, seeing him run and just have an absolute blast. To Achilles’ future forever family: you are one lucky duck, whoever you are!

What a Hunk!

Achilles has been doing a great job as he achieves proficiency on all of his commands like the champion he is. He has learned some extras, spin and bow, and he is progressing so wonderfully. His trainer has truly enjoyed these past few weeks especially with Achilles. It is so rewarding to see the hard work of training a dog pay off, not just in their good performance during show and tell, but in the bond it builds between a person and mankind’s best friend.

Achilles is very playful and energetic in the most lovable way. He is very curious, but not curious to the point of being naughty or mischievous. One thing is certain, though - this hunk will be missed, and whoever gets him won’t be disappointed.

Ready. Set. Fetch!

Achilles has come out of his shell!  He’s a super excited and happy boy.  He loves to run with the other dogs.  Chasing tennis balls is top of his list!  When he gets tired of playing all he wants to do is lay around and relax.  He enjoys getting attention from his inmate trainer and the others in the dorm.

His inmate trainer says that Achilles is doing really with his commands.  He’s a sweet boy who is sure to bring happiness into his forever home.

Lovin' Retirement Life

Achilles has been doing great this WHOLE session! He has improved with all of his basic commands. Despite his curiosity when training or being taken out for his potty breaks, he has blossomed into a very cooperative hound. He is not always excited to do certain commands, but he is satisfied with the results (and rewards!) of obeying them. Achilles is a wonderful dog and is always ready to enjoy life, especially with his designated human companions!

Star Student

This week has been awesome! Achilles does all of his commands now and doesn't have to be lured into doing them. He still has a bit of trouble differentiating down from sit, but he is getting the hang of it. He is still super curious so his trainer makes him stand at the heel position when leash walking until he calms down and focuses on whoever is walking him. He is a super wonderful dog and his trainers are loving the opportunity to work with this sweet, handsome guy!

Curious Chap

This past week has been one for the books with Achilles! He has learned all of his commands, and although he is a little slow to respond to a few of them, he is a very smart pooch. His trainer says Achilles is learning at a good pace and by this time next week, he will have another few commands mastered. He loves being able to work with Achilles (who wouldn’t?!) and his favorite thing about Achilles is how curious he is! Oh, and this guy loves to play with tennis balls, so have a few handy when you bring him home!

Social Butterfly

This week, Achilles has been working on sit and he has gotten so much better at it! He doesn’t have it down perfectly, but it’s only week 3 for gosh sakes! He is such a good, outgoing and loving dog and his trainer loves getting to work with this beautiful brindle guy. He is looking forward to the next seven weeks of working with him. He sure will miss Achilles, but is happy to hear that he will be going to his forever family after graduation!

Inspector Achilles

Achilles is a super curious guy who loves to investigate all things.  He can get a little distracted while training so training sessions are kept short and fun.  His inmate trainer says that part of the process is teaching Achilles how to focus and learn new things.  It’s got to be interesting and rewarding.  He has learned the “bed” command and is catching on to many of the other basics.

His inmate trainer says that it is fun to see what gets Achilles to focus. Everything is still new and different for Achilles.  Once all the loud noises, new smells, and sights became normal Achilles will find his groove.
