Here I am!

Sailor blog.jpg

Sailor is ready for a home of her own. She is a sweet, sensitive, calm, quiet and loving girl with the cutest ears to boot! She is a master on stair climbing and jumping into cars or SUVs with ease. Once she gains your trust she is extremely loyal. She is fun with the perfect amount of “get up and go”. She loves to play with toys, with or without you, and go for walks. She walks well on a lease. Ms. Sailor does great on a schedule and learns very fast. She is potty trained and also crates well. Sailor likes the company of medium to large dogs and will ask them to play with her. Treats are her best friend so she will “work for food”. Sailor wants a patient and gentle family but one that will guide her to success. She is absolutely precious mixed with the right amount of spunk.

Playtime = Funtime

Sailor is going to be off to her new forever family this week and her trainer couldn't be happier.  She has come a long way since she arrived at the prison.  This being her last week, Sailor has got to do more playing than working, and she loves it.  She knows all of her commands, including "belly" and "peek-a-boo" and can't wait to show you.

Sailor's trainer is going to miss this sensitive, sweet girl, and wishes her well in her new home.  You are getting a great pup!  Once she trusts you, she is as loyal as they come.  He knows you are going to lover her!  It will be love at first sight.

Swap Week!

Little Miss Sailor is a very loyal Greyhound. She's also a very smart Greyhound who knows all of her commands and performs them with ease. She follow her inmate trainer around everywhere he goes. She does her commands off leash just as well as on the leash.

She will "jerk your chain" a bit until she gets to know you and bonds with you. Then, she's all yours! Just know that and know it may take some time for her to come around but she will.

Her inmate trainer is surely going to miss her sweet disposition but he is happy for her to start her life with her new family.

Loyal Companion

Sailor is just the sweetest most loyal greyhound around.  She knows all of her commands and can pretty much do all of them without a leash.  Indoors or in a fenced in area of course.  Her trainer said it has taken lots of love and patience to get where they are today, but it's been worth the journey.  He will miss Sailor when she leaves, but is glad to know she has a loving family waiting for her.

Next week is swap week and Sailor's trainer will be counting the days until she is back with him.  More to come next week!

Making The Grades

Sailor is an amazing greyhound and is doing very well with her commands, even the stairs and "jump" are no match for this smart girl!  When it's testing time, she always makes the grades.  Sailor is an attention hound.   Show her some loving and she's your pal for life.

Peek-A-Boo and belly are her newest command she's working on.  She's going to amaze her forever family and their friends with these cute commands.  Get ready for a fun lovin' greyhound!

Smart Girl!

Sailor is doing most awesomely! She's been working with toys annd she loves them. So her trainer gets down on a knee, tell her to do a down or sit, before she gets her toy. She's been working on leave it and she's doing great.

Sailor learns so quickly and she's at the point in her training where she's ready to have other people who have never worked with her start coming to get her out of her kennel and run her through her commands. So when she gets to your home, anyone in the family will be able to run her through her commands without any problems!

Sailor is such an awesome girl and her trainer is very happy she is going to a family who will love her as much as he does!

A Treat And Toy Kind Of Girl

Sailor took commands from her secondary trainer at show and tell this week and got high marks.  He ran through the commands a little bit faster than what she's used to, but she didn't miss a beat.  Her primary trainer had a proud "Dad" moment.  She knows leave it, stairs, hurry, let's go, heel, here, sit, down, bed, jump, kennel, release, wait, stay.  She is also learning a couple of extras:  belly and peek-a-boo.

Sailor was a perfect "10" when doing her stair training.  She should have no problems in her forever home.  Help her with a couple of practice runs and she should be good to go.  She's an awesome greyhound and some family is going to be very lucky to adopt this sweet girl.

Play Time in the Day Time

Sailor made her trainer so proud this week. She did very well at Friday's Show and Tell and did everything on point. She is improving all the time and it won't be long until she is ready to start getting her commands from other trainers in the program.

Saturday she did better on the stairs. The first time she didn't do so well, but the next couple of times she went right up and down. Sailor loves to play in the training room. Her trainer will pile up some beds and when he throws a toy in it she will dive right In, flip the toy around, tail wagging. She is so funny and a very sweet girl. She will be a good addition to her new family and will be dearly missed by the teachers at Second Chance Academy.

Sweetest Little Lady

Sailor is the sweetest food lovin', treat motivated, toy playin' little lady ever!!  Whoever adopts her, prepare to be entertained.

She can heel, down and sit already.  Her trainer is working on wait and jump.  Her sit was a side saddle sit at first, so Sailor would use the wall and sit properly.  It was too funny!  She is doing much better and will sit without the help of the wall.  It's all a work in progress, but she's coming along nicely.  There's a bright future ahead for Sailor!

Sailin' Right into Your Heart

Sailor is so precious! Right now, she’s not so sure of life in this big, new place, but she’s coming along nicely and is gradually adapting. Sailor is already walking on her leash with no pulling and is learning to wait at the door.

It didn’t take Sailor long to lay down on a day bed – about 8 minutes! That’s pretty good for a Greyhound, because sometimes they’ll just stand there for an hour until they get tired enough to lay down.

She is a little bit shy, but she plays with toys and her personality really shines there. She’s starting to learn the here and bed commands, and is learning the bed command not just on the bed but other parts of the floor. She’s coming along so nicely and is so sweet. She is going to make an awesome member of your loving family!
