Brighter Days With Chipper

Chipper loves his toys!  When he’s finished playing he’ll kick his feet up in the air and relax the afternoon away.  He’s been snuggling the week away with his training team.  He’s doing really well with all of his commands, so he believes that taking it easy is an important part of the process.  He’s learned a new command called Shark-It.  It’s where he raises his lip to get a treat.  His inmate trainer says that it’s been a big hit since he’s gotten it down pat.  His inmate trainer says that she’s enjoying her time with Chipper and he always makes her days a little brighter!

Graduation Is Around The Corner

Chipper is off and running this week. Running through his commands that is. He knows all his basic commands, but still isn’t too sure about the “jump” command. His list of extras keep growing and he will show you with how smart he is.

Chipper is an amazing greyhound and his trainers have enjoyed training him. He’s an energetic boy that’s a lot of fun to have around. His trainer will miss his spunky, happy personality and knows you will love Chipper just as much as she does.

Boys Just Wanna Have Fun

Chipper’s week is off to a good start. He’s learned a couple more extra commands. He still isn’t a fan of the “jump” command. He doesn’t know what all the fuss is about. At the kennel he didn’t have to jump, as his kennel was on the bottom. He’s a small boy and figures his humans can pick him up when “jumping” is needed. LOL Sometimes all it takes, is seeing another pup “jump” and the other dog will follow right along.

Chipper is such a happy boy! He’s ready to play, play, play the day away. He is such a loving boy and doing a happy dance. He knows his forever family is waiting for him after graduation.

Adorable

Chipper’s inmate trainer says she’s very proud of this sweet boy!  He knows his commands with verbal and hand signal cues.  The jump command is still a work in progress as he’s a little slow to respond.  He’s got a whole list of extra’s that he performs like a champ:  kiss, show me love, shake, say your prayers, beg, bounce, spin and paws up.  His inmate trainer says he’s truly adorable when he’s doing his commands.

Softest Fur Around

Chipper is doing really well! When playing he’s a vocal boy.  He’ll bounce around like a rabbit with his tail going wide open, barking and growling like a child in the yard. She says it’s a real treat to watch him having such a good time.

He loves attention and anything that squeaks! His trainer says that Chipper is quite the attention hog and he believes his soft fur should be rubbed at all times.   His inmate trainer has discovered that he doesn’t like to be hovered over.  His body will get stiff showing he’s uncomfortable. His inmate trainer is working to help him become more comfortable with this.

Treat Motivated

Chipper is very treat motivated, so training has been easy. He knows all his basic commands and quite a list of extras. Chipper knows, kiss, show me love, catch, shake, say your prayers, which hand, spin, bounce, leap frog and crawl. Wow! He can get excited at times and grab at the treat, but his trainer will tell him “easy” and he settles down. His trainer said its been a lot of fun training Chipper and looks forward to every day she gets to spend with him.

Fun Loving & Playful

Chipper’s energetic, fun personality has brought a lot of joy to his inmate trainer and others in the dorm.  He loves attention and neck scratches.  He seems to be a little unsure of the male guards so they’re working on confidence here.

If you’re looking for a fun loving, playful guy, Chipper just might fit the bill!  He’s doing great with his commands and knows most all of them hand signal and verbal cues.  He’s got a pocket full of extras that he performs with ease!  His inmate trainer says that she’s having a great time with Chipper and is looking forward to the days ahead!

Bouncy Boy

Chipper’s inmate trainer says that Chipper has shown many sides of himself this week!  He’s learned a lot this week! He’s showing his fun and spunky side and they’ve discovered that he loves to play fetch!  He ran really well with the pups and seems to prefer running with the females.  (go figure LOL)  He doesn’t seem to like the cold weather though.  Once inside from his potty run, he’ll grab a toy and bounce around like a jack rabbit!  His inmate trainer says it’s a sight to see!

Catch Me If You Can

Training is going good with Chipper.  He is learning and taking it all in. He does get distracted easily, but gets back on track with a yummy treat.  He loves peanut butter.

Chipper likes to play fetch.  He will go get the toy and bring it back, unless he decides to travel up and down the stairs with it, with his trainer chasing him.  Stairs are no problem for Chipper.  His trainer is enjoying every minute with this sweet boy.

Crazy Over Chipper

Chipper is such a loving boy!  His trainers were so excited to meet him and they feel he is going to be so much fun to train. His first night he did whine in his crate, but is doing better as he gets used to his new surroundings.  This coming week, Chipper’s trainers hope to conquer bed, sit and maybe down.  It’s going to be a successful session.  Check back next week for another update on Chipper!
