Laid Back Guy

Ranger has had a little vacation this week before graduation.  He spent this week running in the big yard with his buddies, playing with toys and relaxing in his bed in the dayroom.  He did a few practice runs to keep him sharp, but he knows his commands well and his inmate trainer just wanted to spend some quality time with him this week.

His inmate trainer says that Ranger is a smart, laid back guy and he hopes that his new forever family will enjoy time with Ranger as much as he did.

So much love to give!

This week was Swap Week and Ranger got to spend the week with a new person. His swap week trainer loved him! Ranger is very gentle, walks well on a leash, and is an ace when it comes to doing his commands. Ranger has a beautiful coat and is truly an exquisite specimen when it comes to greyhounds. His swap week trainer relished the time he got to spend with him, and he is certain that he will light up your home and warm your hearts as soon you meet him! He has so much love to share – we hope you’re ready!

Love Him!

Ranger has been progressing well in his training. He knows all the commands, plus two extras (bow and shake), with more to come. He’s very smart. Sometimes he anticipates which command his trainer is about to give and does it before being asked, so they have been mixing things up a bit.

Ranger easily passed his milestone test this week and in just two more weeks he will heading to his forever home. His trainer said you are going to love him!

Greyt Dog!

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short weeks Ranger will be going to his forever home.  His inmate trainer says that Ranger is the best dog he’s ever worked with.

Ranger learned all of his commands in record breaking time.  He loves to run in the big yard with the other dogs and he’s just as comfortable laying around watching TV.  Whatever you are in the mood for, Ranger is ready to join you.

Eager To Learn

Ranger’s training is going very well. His eagerness to work for both food and affection makes it easy to train this smart boy. This week his trainers have been teaching him to stay while they walk around him. After just two short training sessions, he managed to pass that section of his test at the weekly Show your tail.

Ranger is such a fast learner. His trainer enjoys working with him and he’s confident you’ll enjoy having him as the newest addition to your family.

Popcorn!

Hi everyone! I’m having a great time here training my humans to do my bidding. In case you haven’t guessed, I’m Ranger. The dog that’s the brains of this outfit. This week I taught my primary human to reward me for sitting. Are you kidding me? I would have done it just to have my ears scratched. Not only did I get the scratching, but I got a marshmallow and popcorn too. Speaking of popcorn, you should probably start stocking up now. Oh and while you’re at the store, don’t forget the marshmallows too.

I can’t wait to see everybody at my forever home! No matter what you feed me, I’ll be your companion for life! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you soon!

Such A Good Boy

Ranger is having another great week!  He likes to make the rounds in the dorm like a celebrity signing autographs.  He plays all the humans by looking at them with his soulful eyes.  Of course everyone caves and gives him the attention he seeks.

This week Ranger learned how to walk up and down stairs!  He also figured out how to jump so he can get in and out of the car.  Sometimes these tasks can take a few days to learn and Ranger got it after only four tries!

Ranger’s inmate trainer says that he can’t find the right words to say what a good dog Ranger is!

Infinite Petting Required

Well, the first full week has come and gone.  Ranger is doing great!  His inmate trainer says that he’s so well behaved while leash walking that he has to look down to make sure Ranger is still there!  Ranger loves any type of food including marshmallows, dried beef liver or just plain ole kibble.

Just a little warning for you, if you start petting Ranger be prepared to stay awhile.  He will not want you to stop and will nuzzle your fingertips or place his head in your lap to keep you going.

Ranger’s inmate trainer says that Ranger is a true joy to train.  He will try any command in exchange for affection or a treat.

It's Wiggle Time!

Ranger is a very friendly and outgoing dog.  He loves meeting new dogs and people.  He doesn’t just wag his tail, he wags his whole rear end.  Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Be prepared to say awhile when you pet Ranger.  He takes getting scratched and loved on very seriously.  He practically climbs in your lap while you do it.  Such a silly boy.  Well, it’s time to work on leash walking.  Ranger will be seeing you soon!
