Graduation Ready

Eppie has learned all of her basic commands and is ready for graduation!  Her inmate trainer says that she is full of energy and gets excited easily.  Her inmate trainer hopes that her new family will continue to work on the “give” and “leave it” commands with Eppie as she has shown great improvement and he knows that with time it will become second nature to her.  He exchanges a treat for her toy so it’s always a positive experience for her.

Her inmate trainer says that Eppie is always happy and wants to be petted and played with.  He has enjoyed his time working with Eppie and knows that she’ll be entertaining her new family soon!

Swap Week? No Problem!

This week the resident love bug, Eppie spent some time with an alternate inmate trainer!  He says that Eppie’s personality is hands down the biggest, brightest, friendliest, and most outgoing that he’s ever seen.  He says that she’s a cute little ball of energy and love.  When she sees someone new she comes up and will bury her head into their lap!

When Eppie arrived for swap week she didn’t have any problems being away from her primary inmate trainer.  She wasn’t too fond of sharing her toys or bed so her alternate trainer worked on trading toys for treats and rewarding her for space sharing.  She did well with her basic commands and seems to respond really well to a calm assertive trainer who takes the leadership role.

Happy & Full of Energy

Eppie is doing really well!  She knows all of her basic commands and hasn’t growled one time over toys!  Now, she still doesn’t want to give the toy up but her inmate trainer is working with her on “give” and “drop it”.

Eppie is always happy and full of energy.  She loves attention and has a special spot on her neck that if you scratch is she almost crumbles with happiness.  She loves people and never meets a stranger.  She likes being around the other Greyhounds and loves toys.  Her inmate trainer says that Eppie will try to play hard headed sometimes to get her way so sticking to your guns is key!

Full of Life and Love

Whassup world!?  My name is Eppie and I’m here at the prison for basic obedience training.  What this means is that I get treats!  How awesome is that?  Okay so I do have to follow through with commands like: sit, down, stay, etc.  I’m good with that though!

So this week I’ve kinda wanted a vacation and I’ve told my inmate trainer that, but he didn’t listen.  He says I’ve been a little stubborn this week, but get real dude it’s you whose been stubborn I’m on vacation this week!  I’ve been working hard since arriving I deserve some naps and play time!  We’ll be back to it soon enough.  My inmate trainer says that he’s been learning patience, but he hasn’t been eating any treats! Seems like a bad deal to me.  Anyway, we’ve got this daily routine that I could run through blind folded…  potty break, eat, play, training.  I even follow my inmate trainer when he adds water to my food and I make it back before he does so that I’m sitting and waiting for him to place the bowl in front of me like a good human.  His training is shaping up pretty well!

I love humans and never met a stranger, but let’s be honest when you’re this cute they’re all drawn to you so it’s pretty easy being me.  I love life and am probably the happiest girl you’ll ever meet!

Football, Tennis Balls, and Toys!

Eppie is doing really well.  She knows all of her commands and her inmate trainer is working on “stay” to see how much distance he put between them while she waits for the release command.  Eppie’s alternate inmate handlers have also been working on commands with Eppie so she understands and follows through with different people.  Needless to say, she’s doing great!

Eppie’s inmate trainer says that Eppie is a great joy to work with.  She’s full of life and loves attention.  She enjoys playing with toys, but especially likes squeaky toys, tennis balls and the football above anything else!  Her inmate trainer says that if you’re looking for a loving girl look no more Eppie fits the bill!

Fun and Loving

Eppie’s inmate trainer is proud to report that Eppie now knows all of her basic commands!  She’s a little slow responding to “sit,” but her inmate trainer believes that she’ll pick up the pace soon!  Sit tends to be a hard command for Greyhounds to master because of all those gluteus maximus muscles!

Her inmate trainer says that Eppie is a very fun and loving girl.  She loves to play with toys and run.  One of her favorite toys is a plush green monkey and a squeaky tennis ball.  Her inmate trainer says he can’t help but laugh at her antics!  She’s coming out of her shyness and has no aggression whatsoever!  He believes that she is going to be a truly wonderful pet for some lucky family!

Attention Please

Eppie is doing really well!  She is still a little shy when outside of her kennel.  Inside her kennel she will “sit” and “down” with no problem.  She seems to get a stressed around a lot of noise so her inmate trainer believes that she is going to flourish in a home environment.

Eppie really enjoys walking or playing with her inmate trainer.  Her trainer says that Eppie is a great girl and he loves working with her.  He has no problem touching her toys or food.  He says that she’s a sweet girl who loves to be loved on and will run to others for attention as well!

Playful and Friendly

Eppie is doing great!  She’s is currently learning how to “sit” and “stay down”.  She did an excellent job on the stairs.  Her inmate trainer was proud with how well she handled going up and down the stairs!  She’s been working on “sit” before entering her kennel and “sitting” before her meals.  She’s showing great improvement every day!

Eppie enjoyed her first run this week.  Her inmate trainer says it’s a treat to watch her playing and have fun! Eppie is an energetic girl who’s playful and friendly.  She loves to receive love and her inmate trainer believes that some lucky family will blessed to have this amazing girl in their mix.

Learning the Basics

Eppie had a great week this week!  She is currently working on the sit command.  Her inmate trainer says that if Eppie gets tired they end the training session on a good note and pick up later.  Eppie loves affection and attention.  If she feels shy or unsure of something she’ll drop her head down so her inmate trainer is working to help her build her confidence.

Eppie is energetic girl who’s been working on her leash manners.  She knows hurry, let's go and kennel really well!  She's a little slow responding to wait, heel, here, sit, and bed but she’s improving every day and her inmate trainer is looking forward to watching her grow!

Goodbye Racing Hello Retirement

Eppie is a shy and energetic Greyhound.  Her inmate trainer has been feeding her out of his hand to work on bonding and trust.  She gets really excited when her inmate trainer unlocks the kennel door.  He usually makes her calm down and relax a little before allowing her to exit the crate.  She can be a little stubborn so they play the waiting game to see who will give in first and it’s usually Eppie!

Currently Eppie is learning “heel,” “wait,” “kennel,” and “bed”.  She’s catching on well and her inmate trainer can’t wait to see how far she takes training!
