Graduation Time

Bristol has passed her final exam and is ready to graduate!  Her inmate trainer is proud to report that she also passed the CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) practice test!

Bristol’s inmate trainer says that Bristol is always ready to learn and loves playtime!  If you’ve prepared yourself we’ll go over her list of commands, but make sure you have your coffee handy ‘cause this girl’s a smart one.  Bristol graduates with knowledge of: hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, heel, here, sit, down, stay, bed, jump, leave it, bow, paws up and watch me!

Her inmate trainer says that Bristol has been his favorite assignment and he’s going to miss her tremendously.  He has no doubt that she’s going to make a wonderful companion for her new family.

A True Joy

Swap week is over and Bristol will return to her primary inmate trainer.  For swap week the inmates exchange dogs to encourage command response from new people and to help the dogs adjust to being away from their primary trainer.  The inmates get to experience new dog personalities and training challenges.

Bristol’s alternate inmate trainer says that she was a true joy to be around this week!  She’s a playful girl who loves to dance and prance around like a cat pouncing on a mouse.  He says that her primary trainer has done an excellent job training her to perform to verbal only and hand signal only cues.

Her alternate trainer says that this adorable girl is guaranteed to bring smiles to the faces of her new family members!

Even Tempered And Happy

As always Bristol is her playful, sweet, obedient self this week.  She and her inmate trainer worked this week to refine and polish the skills she already knows.  During the morning turn out Bristol does not seem interested in running, but has no problem burning energy off in a play session a little later in the morning.

Her inmate trainer says that Bristol is a very even tempered girl who doesn’t mind her ears, teeth, mouth, paws or tail being touched.  Swap week is approaching and her inmate trainer can’t wait to see how she does with her alternate trainer.   He feels certain that she’ll not have any problems.

Fun Loving

Another eventful week for fun loving Bristol!  She and her inmate trainer worked on bow and stairs this week!  He says that Bristol will not have any problems navigating if you have stairs in your home.  She has also improved on her hand signal only commands.

Her inmate trainer says that Bristol seems to be enjoying herself and that anyone who comes in contact with her can see how playful and fun she is.

Swap week is approaching and her inmate trainer feels like Bristol is fully prepared.  During swap week she’ll spend time with an alternate trainer going through her commands.  This helps her to understand that it’s okay to receive direction from someone other than her primary handler.

Her inmate trainer says that she does tend to shy away from the guards, but he believes it’s because of their loud keys and radios.  He believes that Bristol is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family out there!

Loves Attention

This week Bristol and her inmate trainer worked on the basic commands using hand signal only cues.  Her inmate trainer is proud to report that she was successful after the first and second try! They also worked on going up and down stairs and Bristol performed wonderfully!  Work has continued on extra commands “leave it” and “shake”.  Her inmate trainer plans to add “bow” to her list of extras.

Bristol is a very playful fun girl.  Everyone in the dorm likes to stop by and have a quick playtime with her and she absolutely loves the attention.

This week her inmate trainer has noticed that loud noises seem to make her uncomfortable.  He says that she doesn’t run for them just seems a little uneasy.  He plans to work with her to help her feel more comfortable and confident when around loud sounds.

Trying New Things

Bristol seems to be enjoying her time at the prison.  She absolutely loves playtime!  Her inmate trainer enjoys watching her take toys around the room playing and enjoying life.  He says that Bristol has shown great improvement with training this week!  She has added sit, jump, and stairs to her list!  As with most new things she was a little nervous to try the stairs and jump the first few times, but this little trooper pressed on and conquered the tasks!

Her inmate trainer is having a blast working with Bristol.  He says that he hopes his future dogs are at least half as fun as Bristol has been!

Smart And Cute

Bristol is a playful little girl!  She doesn’t seem to tire from a game of chase or rolling around on the floor.  She is starting to show more interest in toys!  She doesn’t seem to mind humans around her food when she’s eating.  She’s not one to stay in one spot for very long, but her inmate trainer has found her sprawled out next to another dog enjoying a short break.   Bristol is a girl who’d rather be out exploring and seeing what the world has to offer!

Bristol is really catching on to her commands!  She listens to most basic commands on her first try.  She has added shake to the list and is showing signs of speak.  Her inmate trainer is excited to see what this smart girl will learn next!

Breezing Through Commands

Bristol is moving right along with her training!  In addition to the skills she has learned she can add heel, stay, here and leave it to her list!  Her inmate trainer says they are breezing through training due to Bristol's eagerness to learn.  The one road block they've hit is jump.  She's not a bit interested in jumping on command.  Her inmate trainer plans to continue to work with her to make this command a little more interesting and fun.  She's not crazy being left alone so her inmate trainer will work with her to help her adjust.

Her trainer says that it's fun to watch Bristol with toys running all over and being a complete spaz while playing.  She is mouthing while playing, nothing hard or painful, but her inmate trainer plans to correct this behavior.  He says that next week he plans to focus on the sit and jump commands.

Playful And Loving

Bristol is coming out of her shell every day!  She loves to chase her inmate trainer around outside in the yard.  She’s a playful girl who calms easily.  So far she has not shown any interest in toys, but she may play with them more as she becomes more comfortable.

She eats her meals in her kennel much like she did at the track.  She’s not a fan of other dogs swinging by to ogle at her food.  She’s progressing nicely with training!  She’s already mastered bed, wait, down, here and catch!  This girl loves treats which makes training a bit easier and yummy!

Who's Ready To Learn

Bristol is a small girl full of life! When she arrived at the prison she was interested in everything, but has calmed down and is adjusting well to her new temporary home.

Her inmate trainer has slowly started introducing a few basic commands.  After a training session she's awarded with playtime.  Her inmate trainer says that it's funny to watch her play with a toy running all over the place.  He's excited to say that they're off to a great start and he cain't wait to see what she's capable of!
