A Real Character

We've reached Bishop's final week and his trainer wishes he could say that they have the big fella all figured out. Well, they don't. However, in this case it's actually a good thing - he is such a character and they're always on their toes waiting for the next random quirk or antic to reveal itself. He has been an adventure to work with and an absolute dream. His trainer hopes that he is paired with a family that enjoys him as much as he has. He wishes the big guy the best forever. He will surely be missed!

Ready To Meet Ya!

Bishop is coming right along with his commands.  His inmate trainer says that Bishop is a sweet boy who can be a little energetic at times.  He loves life and enjoys it to the fullest.  His inmate trainer says that you can’t help but feel happy when you’re around Bishop.  

Bishop’s inmate trainer said that he’s enjoying his time with this sweet boy and can’t wait to see what he learns next.  He believes that Bishop is going to make a wonderful pet for some lucky family.  

Happy Boy

If his trainer were to give Bishop a diagnosis, it would be “great and lovable toddler.” He’s so wonderful and still learning how to express his excitement. Being as large as he is, it might seem pushy when he gets going, but he’s just so happy to be here!

Bishop loves to run and seeing others do so without him drives him BONKERS. What else would you expect from a young greyhound, though? The big fella is coming along just fine in his trainer’s opinion, but definitely expect to set some boundaries in the home for his puppy-level energy – and get ready for a waterfall of unconditional love.

Curious Guy

Bishop has been working away on his commands.  His inmate trainer says he’s made great progress!  Keeping Bishop’s interest is key, so making sure training is fun, is the way to go.  Bishop is a naturally curious boy.  Each new smell is a great adventure.  

Bishop knows many of his commands with both verbal and hand signal ques.  His inmate trainer says that Bishop is going to make some lucky family very happy.

Naps, Playtime, Treats...Repeat

Bishop is moving right along with his commands!  His inmate trainer says that bishop has plenty of energy and enjoys running in the big yard.  His inmate trainer says that he loves seeing Bishop play and enjoy himself.  He believes that Bishop is going to make his new forever family very happy!

Bishop seems to be taking retirement pretty seriously.  Naps, playtime, and treats seem to fit in to his new schedule nicely.  

Handsome Goofball

Hello, Bishop fans!

This week in Bishop’s training, he has learned to climb stairs AND jump. He got a bath this week and it made him feel very fresh and frisky – he’s such a handsome goofball.

People always take notice of his unusual coat pattern and everyone loves him. Right now, he is working on sit which is taking some patience – but they’ve got time, and they’ll get there! Whoever adopts Bishop will fall in love with him immediately. He is a special boy for sure. He walks so easily on his leash and is so easy to work with. When his trainer comes back after he leaves the dorm, he is greeted by lots of affection shining brightly on that sweet face! Until next week – later!

Every Day Is An Awesome Day with Bishop!

Bishop brightens his trainers day. Not just some days, but everyday. He’s up in the mornings waiting to say hello. There’s nothing better than the unconditional love from a greyhound.

Bishop is his favorite dog to date and his best friend. He is very relaxed in his new environment already. Some dogs take awhile to get used to new things. Not Bishop.

Bishop is really bright and loves treats as well as praise. He works really hard to please. He already know hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, heel, here and bed well. What a smart boy! This week, Bishop gets to run on the big yard. His trainer can’t wait to see him run.

Guaranteed To Steal Your Heart

Bishop is such a handsome fellow. He has a great personality and he enjoys affection as well as training. He has stolen his trainer’s heart already! This week Bishop has learned bed, here, wait, release and the heel commands. His trainer said he is so much fun to work with. He also walks great on a leash when taking potty breaks or just out for a stroll.

Bishop loves to lounge on a bed in the day room, hanging out enjoying life. If you want a friend for life, Bishop is your guy!

Rare Gem

Bishop entered his 10 week training program at Jenkins and his trainer said Bishop was very patient getting his bath and his ears cleaned. This first thing his trainer noticed was his beautiful coat and color scheme.  He is an extremely handsome fella, mostly white with black patches and a cool white stripe right down the center of his head.

Bishop was calm and relaxed his first few nights.  He settled into his kennel and didn’t make a sound.  He is curious about his new environment, checking everything out.  He is very tolerant of people and being touched. He absolutely loves affection!

Bishop’s trainer is looking forward to training this one of a kind greyhound.  Whoever adopts him is getting a rare gem of a K-9.  See you next week.
