So Attentive

As Jake’s time has come to an end, his trainer is shedding tears of joy for him. She knows he will make his forever family just as happy and at peace as he has made her. He is such a great and friendly dog. He is very attentive to your mood and everything around him.

Jake still enjoys his toys and really likes the teething ring. He likes to chew on it. He likes his nap time as much as ever. Food and treats are still a great motivator for him. He knows all of his commands and quite a few extra ones. He loves showing off his many talents.

His trainer would like to thank you again for the opportunity to work with and love Jake.

Eager to Please

Swap Week! Everyone agreed that Jake is a very lovable and sweet dog. He is super smart and very enthusiastic when treats are involved.

Jake knows his commands plus plenty of extra ones. He is a wonderful dog and really wants to please. He will do his commands before he is even asked, so his trainer has had to mix up the order in which she asks them. Jake is very attentive to his surroundings and his humans. He will be wonderful with children and/or the elderly. He is such a joy to be around and he’s ready to meet you.

"Shake" Jake

This week has been another awesome week with Jake! He continues to excel in his daily training. He knows all his basic command and only needs to work harder on stay. He knows it, but they are working on holding the stay longer. He’s improving.

Jake has a lot of fun playing and running with the other dogs. He still enjoys his lounging time on the big dog beds. Treats and food are a big motivator with Jake. He is doing great and is ready for his forever home. Are you ready for Jake?

Truly an Amazing Dog

Jake has continued to excel in his daily training. This week they have added some extra commands to his training which he has learned quickly and truly enjoys showing off his new talents. These extra commands include “Paws Up,” “Show Me Love,” “kiss,” “Shake” and “High Five.”

His playful side continues to peak out more and more. He truly is an amazing dog to have around and call a pet and friend. He really enjoys peppermint, banana and yogurt pieces. His trainer is so happy with his progress but also sad to see their time winding down.

So Eager to Please!

This week Jake’s training has been great! He has excelled in showing his ability to learn fast and he is so eager to please. Jake has learned to “Shake” as well as many new extra commands. Jake continues to be very loving and ready for affection.

He is very food and treat motivated and his trainer can’t wait to see what else they will learn and teach each other as he becomes ready for his forever home.

Anything for a Treat!

Jake has continued to excel in his daily training. He also continues to become more playful and outgoing. Jake’s trainer said he is a very fast and quick learner. At times he will go through all of his commands just to earn a treat. He knows all of his basic commands verbally and has four extra commands that he knows both verbally and with hand signals. He is such a smart boy!

Jake loves going outside and really enjoys running and playing with the other dogs. In the short time Jake has been in the program he has taught his trainer that when things in life change don’t resist it, instead embrace it with joy, love and an open mind and you can do anything life puts in your path.

Jake continues to be highly food motivated. Nap time also continues to be a favorite, especially on the large dog pillows. Jake’s trainer is looking forward to everything they will learn together as he gets closer to going to his forever home.

Pillow Thief!

As the weeks progress, more and more of Jake’s personality is emerging. He has become more playful and rambunctious with his toys, but he calms easily. He has also continued to excel in all of his commands. Jake is very eager to please and enjoys receiving praise and love. Food is still a very large motivator for him too.

Jake enjoys playing with the other dogs and occasionally trying to catch birds. He truly enjoys affection and attention. Jake has also become a pillow thief! He likes to very gently pull his trainer’s pillow off the bed and then rush to lay on it as if no-one can see him. He is such a great dog and friend. His trainer continues to look forward to their remaining time together. Get ready for Jake, to not only steal your pillow, but also your heart.

Nap Time, Happy Time!

Together Jake and his trainer have continued to work on their commands. He is doing great and is a very fast learner. He is being groomed twice a week which he doesn’t seem to mind too much. When he runs he is so fast and he enjoys playing with the other dogs.

Great News! Jake has finally decided he likes toys. So far he only chews on his favorite eagle and tennis ball. He is still not too sure about the high pitched squeaker toys but he is opening up more and more with each passing day.

Food is still a very large motivator for Jake, so training has been very easy. His favorite treat is the Beef Lung Bark as well as the Gingerbread Men.

His trainer loves every moment with Jake because he is always ready to give his love. His excitement in the mornings coming out of his kennel is very infectious and inspiring. Nap time is still a happy time for him as he continues to “roach,” and at times, will give a full smile in his sleep. Jake is such a joy and his trainer is so thankful to have the chance to work with him.

Loving and Laid-Back

Jake’s trainer has come to understand after spending time with him, that Jake is not only a great dog but a fast learner. He also is very happy to receive praise and love. He loves to wag that tail. Jake continues to enjoy his kibble at feeding time as well as any treats he can work to get. Water is no stranger to him either, he enjoys a nice large bowl of cold water.

Jake’s training is going great! He is eager to show his many talents. Nap time is a large favorite of Jake’s and his trainer is happy to report that his “roaching” has no end in sight. So far the only thing he doesn’t care for is the shiny floors but they are continuing to work through it.

Jake has a very loving and laid back personality after he has a chance to check everything out. His trainer continues to look forward to the week ahead as they get to learn and teach each other new things.

Super Sleeper

On Jake’s first day he was so ready to explore everything about his new surroundings. He was very good about having his ears cleaned, feet and teeth checked and enjoys being brushed.

Jake’s a little confused by the toys so far, but he loves earning treats and taking a nice long nap. Sometimes when he’s sleeping he’ll roll over onto his back with all his legs in the air and his tongue sticking out. His trainer has even found a puddle of drool on the floor several times. Jake is a pro napper!

His trainer describes Jake as an incredibly happy dog, and she is so excited to work with him for the next 10 weeks.
