Sweetie

JoJo’s inmate trainer says it’s been a pleasure to train her.  He says it’s going to be hard to say Goodbye to this sweet girl, but it helps knowing she’ll be going to a forever home for the rest of her retirement days.  She’s a little shy, but when she warms up you’ll find that she fills your whole heart.  She’s a calm girl with a gentleness you can’t help but love.

He says that she’s been a pleasure to work with and hopes that her new forever family has a great time with this sweet girl.

Well-Trained Greyhound

It was swap week and JoJo’s swap week trainer said it was a pleasure having her for the week. He said she is very smart, sweet and a well trained greyhound. She did great doing her commands for someone other than her primary trainer. She loves running and playing with the other dogs, as well as playing with toys.

JoJo didn’t seem to show any signs of separation anxiety during the week. She settled quite nicely with her swap week trainer’s routine. He thinks JoJo will make a wonderful addition to any home.

Not Afraid To Use Those Eyes

JoJo is totally different from her first days in the training program.  She still has her shy moments, but she’s grown so much as she’s adjusted to the prison training program.  She has all of her commands down pat and makes her inmate trainer proud every day.

She has the cutest puppy dog eyes and she’s not afraid to use them to get what she wants.  She’s easy to love and such a sweet girl that you can’t help but give in to an extra treat from time to time.

Rewarding Journey

JoJo has been greeting staff members with more enthusiasm this week!  She’s dominating playtime with the other dogs, now she’s not rude or pushy, but she has evolved from shy and withdrawn to enthusiastic!  She races for toys and will occasionally catch them out of thin air.  She can still be skittish when she’s uncertain about her surroundings or loud noises, but she’s handling things better and better every day!

Her inmate trainer says that JoJo has shown that she can adapt to new environments and that it’s well worth the journey to help her adjust and become comfortable!  He says that it has been an amazing and rewarding journey with little Miss JoJo!

Fallen For Toys!

JoJo has come a long way from her first day in training.   Her inmate trainer says that JoJo can still be a little skittish at times.  She’s fallen in love with toys!  They walk past the room with toys and she’s completely distracted by the possibilities of fun that lay just beyond the doorway.  She now realizes that paying attention to her trainer gets her access to the room with all the toys!

She’s still working on being more accepting to sudden moves or loud noises.  Her inmate trainer says that he’s proud to say that JoJo has come a long way and continues to improve every day.  He says that she’s one of the sweetest hounds he’s ever worked with.

Perfect Puppy Dog Eyes

JoJo has officially come out of her shell. Some greyhounds take longer to adapt to change and settle in and JoJo is one of them. Time and patience is key. She has become one of the leaders during playtime with the other dogs and she has become more approachable by humans.

Jojo was totally unsure about toys two weeks ago, but now she loves them. She doesn’t have a favorite one, but she seems drawn to the tennis ball like toys. JoJo has also gone from a “tuck tail and run home” personality to an “I don’t wanna go yet” attitude. And she has the perfect puppy dog eyes for the job.

JoJo’s trainer said it has been a blast working with her and he can’t wait to see what lies ahead in the weeks to come with sweet JoJo.

Improving Every Day

JoJo is coming along quite nicely!  Her inmate trainer says that after the first few weeks, they could tell she was a fast learner.  She bonded with her primary trainer and works well with him.  They’ve been working with her to take commands from other people, as she can be a little shy when working with others.

This week JoJo has made great strides in her interactions with others.  She’s also figuring out how to play with toys!  Her inmate trainer says that JoJo is a great girl who gets better and better every day.

Making Greyt Progress

JoJo is coming out of her shell!   Her confidence is starting to show!  She’s now walking around without her tail tucked and is greeting people without hiding behind her inmate trainer.  She’s even hanging out after treats are gone!  She still defaults to retreat mode if things get crazy too fast, but she’s made fantastic progress!  Her inmate trainer says her retreat behavior usually comes out when the officers yell “chow call” loudly and everyone starts moving around and getting ready.  Keys and radios are a bit overwhelming as well.  Her inmate trainer says that he’s certain that by the end of training JoJo will be a confident girl.  He says that he’s enjoying working with her and watching her blossom and grow.

A Real Sweetheart

JoJo seems to be adapting to her new environment. She’s still not a fan of sudden noises and movements. Prison life is so much more hectic and loud than track life. She does well if she has a friend with her, either human or canine. She likes to hang out in her kennel too. It’s her safe place.

JoJo is a real sweetheart and a great learner. She already knows a few commands! Her trainer has enjoyed her so much already and can’t wait to see her personality blossom over the next 9 weeks.

The Cutest Girl!

JoJo has arrived for training.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s the cutest girl with her brindle patches!  He says so far she’s been a little shy and hesitant.  This is not unusual when some of the hounds enter the program.  It’s a big noisy change for them.  She’s accepting of food from her trainer and others.  She’s not a fan of the loud noises and sudden movements, but she’s already gaining some confidence.  Sometimes she’ll hide behind her inmate trainer, peaking around his leg, watching what’s happening.

Her inmate trainer says that you should be warned about her eyes.  She has the cutest expressive eyes that she uses very well.  It’s hard not to give into her when she looks at you with that sweet puppy dog look.

He says that he’s looking forward to watching JoJo’s personality blossom, as she gets more comfortable in this new environment.
