Graduation Ahead

Well, it’s time for graduation.  Gracie had done extremely well with her commands and also learned to bounce this week!  Her inmate trainer says that she loves to jump so teaching her to bounce was easy.  If you’re settled in and comfy we’ll go over her list of commands… no napping, you gotta pay close attention…  hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, heel, here, sit, down, stay, bed, jump, shake, fist bump, circle, spin, bow, bounce, take it, give it, fetch and speak!  Wow, what a smart girl!

Her inmate trainer says that Gracie is a loving dog and will do great in her new forever home.  She enjoys learning and has a wonderful personality.

Fetch Please

Gracie’s alternate inmate trainer writes in to say swap week with this sweet girl went great!  He says it was a pleasure to spend the week with such a loving well trained dog.  She knows all of her basic commands very well.  She was performing sit, down, stay, and wait right off the bat.  The recall command took a little longer as she wasn’t used to hearing her alternate trainer’s voice, but once she made the connection she came back every time.

Gracie loves food!  Her alternate handler says that her favorite treat is anything editable!  He says that meal times produce many smiles with Gracie’s antics.

Gracie didn’t have any trouble being away from her primary trainer and took to her alternate trainer right away!  She’s sweet girl that loves humans and cuddle time!  She loves to play fetch for as long as someone will throw the ball for her. He believes that Gracie is going to make her new family very happy!

Relaxing In Retirement

Gracie has had a really good training week!  She loves to be around people!  Her inmate trainer says that he can tell that she’s a retired racer because she loves relaxing and being loved on.

Gracie is showing improvement with sharing her space while relaxing in her bed.  She’s still not crazy about it, but is beginning to understand.

Next week is swap week where the inmate trainers swap up dogs.  The trainers get to work on their training skills and the dogs get to experience time away from their primary handlers.  Gracie’s trainer believes she’s going to do great!

Happiness On Four Legs

Gracie loves to learn!  Her inmate trainer says that she is by far the smartest dog he’s ever worked with.   This week they have been working on waiving bye and take it. He says that she fetches well and will put the toy in his hand for a treat.  He is working to ween her off the treat reward for commands she knows well and only using them for new ticks.  He says that when Gracie gets tired of training she’ll wonder off disinterested in the training process.

Her inmate trainer says that he’s having a wonderful time with this sweet girl and feels certain that her forever family will find happiness beyond belief with her!

Loves To Learn

Gracie has had a great week and knows all of her basic commands very well!  Her inmate trainer says that she loves to learn.  She has learned to fetch, either by retrieving a thrown ball or by going to get something and bring it back.  She has also learned to spin in a circle.   Bow, shake, speak, paws up, watch me, and fist bump are also accomplishments on her list of extra commands.

She’s not a fan of other dogs being on her bed or trying to share her toys.  Her inmate trainer is working to help her understand that it’s okay to share.  He says that Gracie is a very loving girl and enjoys walking and playing.

Easy To Love

Gracie has an exceptional will to learn and it makes for a great experience for her inmate trainer.  He says that she has the potential to learn anything!  She knows all of her basic command with verbal and hand signal cues!  They are currently working on the jump command and he believes she’ll have it figured out before the end of the week.

Gracie loves toys and being around people.  Her trainer says that she is easy to be around and loves to hang out and relax.

Loving Girl

Gracie is doing extremely well!  She knows all of her basic commands with treats and her inmate trainer has started working to replace the treat rewards with praise.  He says that she follows through a little slower but will complete the task.  Her inmate trainer is working to teach her to speak on command.  She is a little slow to responding to bow but will have it down pat in no time.

Gracie is a very lovable girl!  Her inmate trainer says that working with her has been a great experience and he’s looking forward to the days ahead!

Performing Fabulously

Gracie has done extremely well this week!  She in on her third week and she sits, down, kennels, here, and responds to bed well.  She even knows circle, shake, and belly!  Circle is where she will walk around her trainer.  She knows how to heel but needs a little more work to clean up her response.  Her inmate trainer says that she is a very smart girl who learns fast!

She doesn't like to share her toys or kennel so her inmate trainer is working to make it a positive experience.  He is looking forward to watching Gracie grow and learn in the days ahead.

Smart Cute AND Sweet

Gracie is a high energy girl that loves to put her paws around you for a hug when she’s excited.  She’s doing well with the sit and down commands.  She’s treat motivated and her inmate trainer believes that training will be no problem with this amazing girl.  She doesn’t like to go into her kennel because all of the excitement is going on out in the world!  Her inmate trainer has been working with her and she’ll now go into her kennel, but wants to come right back out.  Her trainer has been leaving the kennel door open and teaching her to stay.  She has no problem with let’s go, but sometimes wants to go too fast - besides waiting seems like such a waste of time!  Her trainer is not worried he knows she’ll be performing like a champ before training is over!

Training Time

Gracie is a cutie little girl who has a lot of energy and loves to jump up and be hugged!  Her inmate trainer says that when Gracie arrived she wasn't afraid or shy.

Training has started and Gracie already knows how to sit and they've started working on down.  She'll follow through with down from the sit position and now they're working on down from the standing position.  She's also responding well to hurry, let's go and kennel!  Release, wait, heel, here, sit, down, bed and jump are commands that she'll respond to... slowly!  Not to worry she'll catch on soon enough and will have the basics mastered!  Her training team is looked forward to the training days ahead with Gracie!
