Exam Time

Colby has spent her last week in training going up and down stairs and jumping up on benches.  Colby has assured her inmate trainer that stairs and jumping are not on her list of favorites.  Never fear, work has paid off and Colby has shown great improvement with jumping and stair climbing!  Her inmate trainer is also proud to report that Colby passed her basic command test as well as the Canine Good Citizenship practice test! 

Her inmate trainer says that Colby is a great dog who loves people as much as she loves life.  She has a relaxed and loving attitude.  She loves people so much that she can get carried away jumping up and giving kisses over and over again.   Her inmate trainer is going to miss her very much, but knows she’s going to make some lucky family very happy.  

Swap Week

Swap week has come to a close and Colby will be reunited with her primary trainer.  Swap week allows the dogs time away from their primary handler and to receive training commands from someone new. 

Colby’s alternate inmate handler writes in to say that he couldn’t have asked for a better dog for the week!  She’s easy going with a playful side.  He says that her primary trainer has done an excellent job training Colby!  She knows all of her basic commands exceptionally well!  He says that this week has been a breeze with Colby by his side.  He is very confident that her new adoptive family will instantly fall in love with this sweet girl!  

Loves People

Colby has started showing more interest in toys and playing!  Her inmate trainer says that she is a very loving dog who truly loves people.  She knows all of her basic commands and her trainer plans to work on perfecting those commands in the days ahead.  Her trainer says that without a doubt Colby is a truly amazing dog.  He believes that when her new family brings her home they’re going to see how sweet and amazing this girl is!

With swap week coming up he’s looking forward to seeing how Colby adjusts to the changes of a new handler. During swap week the dogs get to experience new people giving them commands and time away from their primary trainer.  The inmates have the opportunity to work with different dogs at different stages of training.  

Bundle of Joy

Colby is doing great!  She loves to play with the big bouncy ball in the yard.  She has started playing with more toys and will play tug-of-war at times.  Her inmate trainers says it’s good to see her getting that pent up energy out since she’s recovered from her foot injury. 

She is doing really well with training and as learned how to: sit, stay, down, here, let’s go, kennel, release, heel, here, stay and bed!  Stairs are a work in progress, but she’s doing much better.  She even has a few extra tricks up her fur sleeves…. Kiss, paws up, bow, belly, and sit pretty. 

Her inmate trainer says that Colby is a great girl!  He believes that she is going to be a bundle of joy for her new owners. 

Cutie Pie

Colby’s foot has healed nicely and she is now on limited running exercises.  Her inmate trainer says that Colby is a sight to see as she runs!  He says that she has a lot of built up energy and is really showing off her running and playing skills. 

Colby has excelled with her commands!  She is doing really well with going up and down the stairs.  Her trainer says that she takes the stairs slowly, but he knows that her confidence will increase soon. 

Her inmate trainer says that Colby is a true cutie and an extremely loving girl.   He says that Colby has been a blessing and believes that her new family will have no choice but to fall head over heels for this girl!

Happiness On Four Legs

Colby is a very special girl!  Her personality is starting to shine through.  She has become very playful with the other dogs and trainers.  Her inmate trainer says that she has a happier than life attitude and loves to give and receive love. 

Her training is progressing nicely!  She knows let’s go, hurry, wait, kennel, here, release, bow, sit, down, and bed and she’s happy to preform them whenever requested!  She has also learned a few extra commands such as belly, kiss, and paws up!  Sitting pretty, visit, and show me love are new commands in progress!  Her inmate trainer plans to introduce the jump command once her foot completely heals. 

Her inmate trainer is looking forward to seeing where the training days ahead take them.  He says that some lucky family is going to get a truly loving, caring and trusting girl.  

Loving and Easygoing

Colby is back from the vet and her foot is healing great!  Her inmate trainer says that she’s showing a lot of improvement since her return.  He says that she’s more active and walking like new again! 

Her inmate trainer says that Colby appears to be a very docile girl and does not seem to be bothered by much of anything.  He says that she is doing an outstanding job learning her commands.  She kennels and goes to bed especially well.  Her sit and down commands are also coming along nicely.  She’s been learning a few extra commands like belly and kiss.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s a very smart girl and cute to boot!  If you’ve got attention to spare she’s ready to receive it!  

New Days

Colby had to head to the vets office this week with a problem with her stitches dissolving prematurely.  Her inmate trainer misses her and is looking forward to her return.  

Due to her toe amputation training has been a little slower but she's doing well with kennel, wait, here and hurry.  Once she heals her trainer plans to work on the sit command and will put it into play before meals.  He's counting the days for his girl to return!  

One Loving Girl

This week Colby had her toe amputated as a result of an injury from her racing career so progress will be a little slow until she is healed.  Her inmate trainer says that despite the surgery her personality is still great!  She is walking well on her foot and she doesn’t mind having her bandages changed. 

Colby is doing great on her leash skills and is learning to wait on command.  She has the kennel and bed commands down pat!  Her inmate trainer is working to introduce the sit and down commands and she’s beginning to understand and follow through. 

Colby is a loving girl and her inmate trainer believes that she is going to make a wonderful family companion.        

A Brand New Start

Colby's inmate trainer says that the last four days have been blessing with this sweet girl!  He says that he was a little worried that she was going to be fearful of everything, but since the first time he saw her she's been reassuring him that she's a very happy girl!  At first she was very curious about her new surroundings and somewhat unsure at times but it didn't take her long to move past unsure!  

Her inmate trainer says that she's great on the leash.  They've started working on "sit" and "down" and she's trying to figure out why she needs to know these things.  Her trainer says he knows that she'll have these commands as well as her basics down in no time... treats are magic!  

Colby is a gentle girl with a great personality.  She's outgoing and her inmate trainer believes that she's going to be a wonderfully loving companion!  He's looking forward to the days ahead!
