Time To Say Goodbye

Aston has had a laid back, chill week. He and his trainer has been spending time with him in his final week at the prison. Aston has started showing his wonderful personality. He was incredibly reserved when he arrived and his trainer loves seeing him happy and excited. He is so loving and such a great dog. His trainer said his greatest attribute is his willingness to obey and do what is asked of him. Aston’s trainers will miss this sweet boy!

Ready For The Greyt Life

Aston has been playing tricks on his trainers with the command “sit”. He can do it without touching his bottom. Silly Boy! Aston is also becoming more and more loving as the days go by. He really is a sweet boy. Aston can be stubborn, but with the right tone and consistency, he will do what is asked of him. His trainers said it has been truly rewarding to see his transformation from a serious pup to a lovely boy. He is going to make his forever family so happy. He deserves the great life.

You're Going To Love Aston

As Aston’s time draws to a close, his trainer prays he is so happy at his forever home. She said “Aston is a great dog. Sure, he has his moments where he reminds us he is a greyhound, but he is gentle with his toys and loves being petted. He is also playing with the other pups. He and Bazza play with each other’s toys.”

Aston is a handsome boy that appreciates playing with his people, but boy, does he love sleeping. As his trainer writes this, he is sleeping on the floor of her room, laying on a foam mattress covered in blankets as a fan blows lightly in his face.

One Sweet Boy Heading Your Way Soon

Training is still going well with Aston. He does all his commands, but “sit” remains his achilles heel. His trainer touches the back of his legs and he will go down to the sit position. He can be stubborn at times, but with the right tone in your voice, he knows you mean business and will follow thru. He has not had any instances of sleep startle this week. As with any dog, it’s a good idea to make sure they are fully awake before touching them on their bed. Say their name or toss a soft toy their way.

Aston’s forever family will love him. He loves to be petted and is very sweet and loving. Only a few more weeks and he heads your way.

Brindle Boy

Aston loves to be petted!  He’s also in full agreement with the treat arrangement.  He’s progressed with sitting from scooping to a light tap on his hiney.  His inmate trainer says she’ll continue working with him until he’s sitting without a cue.  Heel is also a work in progress, but he’s progressing nicely.  All other commands seem to come easy for him.

He enjoys watching the cats outside the window and prefers to take his morning slow with breakfast a little later than the others.  If he were human he’d need a strong cup of coffee before starting his day!

Heart Stealer

Aston is getting so much better with “sit”. His trainer only has to pat his behind and he sits. He knows all his other basic commands with verbal cues and hand signals. Aston has learned “leave it” as an extra. He is a loving boy and his trainer loves having him around. Aston is a heart stealer.

Aston does have some sleep startle, so it’s best to leave him alone while sleeping. If he is sleeping, call his name and make sure he’s fully awake before approaching him or touching him.

Easy-Going

Another week of training in the books for Aston and he is doing well. His trainers have been working on “sit” this week. She is still having to scoop him to sit, but she’s hopeful he will catch on soon. He knows all his other basic commands, except jump. They haven’t worked on that one yet.

Some days in the dorm are more noisy, but it doesn’t seem to bother Aston. He is content to lay in his kennel and sleep. Aston doesn’t play too much, but does enjoy his long walks outside. His trainer said he is a beautiful dog and minds very well and his forever family is going to love him!

Aston Loves His People

Aston and his trainer are learning more about each other. His trainer said he will be a great companion for his new person. He likes to be petted and have fun with his trainer. Aston is also a smart boy. He knows hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, here, down, stay and bed well. Sit, heel and jump are next on this list to learn.

Aston is a well mannered boy with his toys. He does not destroy them and is a gentleman when they take the toy from him. He doesn’t mind his trainer being around him while he’s eating either. Sometimes she will reach in to mix his food and water. Aston takes it all in stride. His trainer said he is a sweet boy who loves his people!

In The Groove

Aston and his trainers had an amazing week. He is getting more comfortable and his personality is coming out. He is becoming more affectionate, especially to his peeps. Commands were slow at first, but now Aston seems to be in the groove. He is a good pup and will make his forever family proud. He is beautiful and everyone compliments his colors and temperament. Aston is chill and laid back most of the time. His trainer encourages him to play. He likes to play with a green rubber pig that makes a pig sound. He loves to try and catch it when his trainer throws it up in the air. He is not rough with toys either. Aston is going to make a great pet for some lucky family.

Handsome Boy!

Aston is such a handsome boy! He is reserved. This week his trainer is getting to know him and Aston getting used to his new surroundings. She is working with him on his name, hurry, here, bed, wait and release. Ashton tries to lead while on the leash, so his trainer is working with him to walk by her side.

Aston is very gentle and just loves to be rubbed. He is finally comfortable, as he roached in his crate. He shows no aggression, even when another dog comes up and takes his toy. He looks at them and lets them have it. He loves his plastic squeaky pig.

Aston is a great dog and is doing well with his commands. When his trainer says the command the first time, he looks to make sure he heard it right. She will say the command again and he follows through. By the time Aston is ready to graduate, he’ll have the commands down pat.
