Too Cool For School

Saint is ready for graduation! He knows all of his commands, (except for jump, which is a work in progress and is always eager to do them. He has learned seven extra tricks on top of his basic commands. He is super sweet and very calm. The women say, “He’s too cool for school.”

He is still not a fan of going upstairs, but he will do it when asked. He is the oldest dog in this training session, but he is the fastest too. Saint’s trainer is so excited for him and his next step in life!

Belly Rubs Please

This is the week that training is without treats. Silent training is used per Saint’s trainer and he did great. He knows a lot of extra tricks that include, “Roll Over,” “Paws Up,” “Kiss” and many more. The only thing Saint has struggled with is going up the stairs. He takes 2 steps at a time, but with lots of encouragement and praise he’s doing so much better. He has no issue going down.

Saint is just a sweet, calm soul who loves to roll around in the grass, roach and have his belly rubbed as much as possible! His trainer hopes his forever family is up for that.

Well Natured Boy

Saint continues to make his primary and secondary trainers smile. His sweet and silly personality continues to blossom everyday.

They continue to train daily and it shows. Saint knows all commands, plus extra tricks; by hand signals and without treats. He is just a great dog all the way around. He still is a grandpa going up the stairs, but a track star coming down.

Be prepared to fall in love with this very calm, well natured boy. He loves attention and is a very quick learner.

Friendly And Calm

Saint is just the sweetest dog! He also can be very silly as well. Saint is the fastest runner they have this session and he loves to roll around in the grass right before he takes off.

His trainer goes over all of his commands a couple of times a day along with his tricks. He is now working on the “Speak” command but he is not very vocal except at feeding time, but his trainer thinks he will be able to “Speak” on command before he goes to his new home! .

Saint loves to be scratched and rubbed! He goes down the stairs with ease and now goes up one, maybe two steps at a time. This is big progress! Saint is so friendly and calm. So far they haven’t seen any signs of aggression towards other dogs or humans.

Very Sweet Soul

Saint is coming more and more out of his shell as the days go by. He is so playful early in the mornings and in the evenings after 6 pm. He just has a very sweet soul.

He knows and has no hesitation showing you all of his basic commands and tricks. When he does “Roll Over” he will tend to stay in the roach position so he can get a quick belly rub. Silly boy!

This week was so exciting for both his secondary and primary trainer. Saint is attempting the stairs by himself and doing so awesome! Now occasionally he needs assistance going up, but not much and going down. He just keeps learning everything quickly.

His trainer has really enjoyed being Saint’s handler and can’t wait to see what is in store next week.

Smarty Pants

Saint is so sweet and such a fast learner!  At this point he can learn a new command or trick in about a day.  He loves knowing exactly what to do in order to get all the treats, love, and attention that he wants.

Stairs are still a bit of an obstacle, though he’s gotten pretty good about going down.  He doesn’t really trust his footing going up, but he’s improving by the day.  His trainer is pretty confident that he will be a pro in no time.

Puppy Dog Eyes

Saint has become an excellent learner over the past few weeks, leaving behind any stubbornness and becoming excited whenever the treat bag comes out.  Saint is totally unfazed by any of the strange noises or comings-and-goings that are a part of life at the prison. He plays and socializes with the other dogs frequently, but also enjoys quiet alone time.

Saint has an incredible presence, and brings a sweet and comforting energy to everyone he cuddles up next to.  He is very observant and in tune with his trainers.  He’s got grade A puppy-dog eyes, and can lay it on thick when he gets corrected during training.

Saint's Doing Greyt!

Saint is doing really well. He is becoming more playful and starting to really feel comfortable in his surroundings.  He finally got a chance to run this week, and loves it.  He only gets to run first thing in the morning though, because it has been SO hot recently and his trainer doesn’t want him to overheat.

Saint is such a calm and sweet dog, who loves being rubbed and petted.  He is starting to play with toys, and it’s just one of the ways his personality is coming out more and more.  His training is also going very well, and he has proven to be a very quick learner.

Extremely Smart And Loving

Saint is improving everyday. He is extremely smart, but can be stubborn at times. He and his trainer are continuing to work through that part. He is very treat motivated. Well, let’s say anything to do with eating, he loves. He knows many of his basic commands already and soon will begin to learn extra ones.

Saint has become a little more playful and is showing some of his personality, which is very exciting. Saint is so loving and loves to be rubbed on! The morning times seem best to train, he is more alert and more receptive to commands. The main issue with him is the heat. It has been very hot outside and he does not like it. With his coat being black. he gets so hot so fast. All he wants to do is find shade to lay in or come back inside where it’s cool. His trainer can’t wait to see him run. That will be during the morning break time for sure.

Sweet, Calm & Trusting

So far Saint has been with his trainer for around 4 days and she feels he is adjusting well. He is still figuring everything out and getting settled. Saint is responding well to his name and seems to like it. So far, they have been playing the name game and getting to know each other.

Saint has been resting a good bit and isn’t responsive to toys yet. He is very sweet, calm and trusting of pretty much everyone. He is not much of a whiner and he hasn’t barked yet. He is doing well on the leash and still learning the stairs but he is getting better and better each day.  He is still trying to get used to his potty schedule but should be on track soon.

Saint is smart and training should come with ease. He already knows “Down” and “Bed” very well. His trainer can’t wait to learn more about Saint and watch him open up more and more.
