Gracie is a lot of fun and so lovable. She's a friendly girl who loves socializing with the other greyhounds and with people. Her fascination with the small pups has eased, and she will ignore them now and walk by, but her handler does still keep a careful eye on her around them. She's very smart and learns quickly. She knows sit, down, stay, here, heel, shake, bed, stairs and wait. She loves to shake and to learn new tricks. She's also a great heel walker! In their down time, her handler gets the blanket out and a Kong and they lie around, chilling together. The dorm residents and alternate handlers love Gracie and will miss her dearly. Gracie's sweetness and her big, brown eyes have captured her handler's heart, and this little girl has brought her smiles and happiness, touching her heart and soul more than you know. She's a good dog!

Gracie is truly a very prancy, delicate, sweet girl. She spends a lot of time socializing with dorm residents and doing her favorite thing, which is training. She's a foodie and always has an eye out for food. Early morning she's always ready for her breakfast as the dorm residents start moving around. In the dorm she plays off leash, chasing after the squeaky monkey when her handler throws it. She loves to be active with games and walking. Outside she enjoys a cool down in the kiddie pool after her walks. In grooming sessions, Gracie is quite an angel, good with ears, nails, weight check and bathing. She's good with everyone and shows no sign of fear. Her handler loves how she interacts with the other greyhounds; she's very relaxed and docile. This girl will make a wonderful, loving pet.

Gracie's stay command is coming along a little better every day. All her other commands are excellent. This week has been very productive, with good training practice and work on interaction skills with strangers, due to the tryouts. Gracie has really come out of her shell so much; she is brilliant. Care is being taken near the tiny puppies as a precaution, as she pulls towards them. However, her handler corrects and keeps moving and then Gracie is fine. She's a loyal dog and as long as you keep her attention, she is focused and stays behind and beside you. Gracie enjoys the outdoors and indoors. She now plays with toys outside when off leash, chasing after them. Top favorite seems to be her squeaky monkey. A great passion of Gracie's is food. She's never aggressive about food - just loves it. This girl is smart as a whip and most of all sweet and loving. She's her handler's buddy and a really good dog.

Gracie has been quite sassy and focused this past week. She's continued to work with the inmates trying out for greyhound training positions and has been great. She adjusts really well to different people and is friendly with everyone. Her training is focused on getting her stay command where it needs to be. She enjoys walks around the compound and loves the outdoors as well as indoors. It's hot weather, so they spend a limited time outside in the early morning. In the dorm, she then plays off leash with her handler and cruises around visiting with the other greyhounds. She's fun, sweet and obedient. Gracie is like the tiny, little sweet brown-eyed girl with a look that tugs at your heart. Everyone loves her.

Gracie is a very well rounded, sweet little girl. She's done an amazing job this past week with her training as the tryouts for the greyhound training team started. She held up fantastically with all of the different people handling her. She is truly on point with what is expected of her. Her weakest command has been stay but she's catching on and each day she does better and better. She gets along really well with the other greyhounds, but care is being taken with her fascination with the tiny dogs for now. Gracie is very correctable and listens great to assertiveness. Her handler believes she has it in her to succeed in more advanced training. She adjusts well to any environment. Gracie really enjoys the outdoor, exploring the smells and her surroundings. She walks well and loves exercise. She also enjoys the cool air of the dorm! She uses her kennel as her spot to relax, but also enjoys roaming the dorm and gets plenty of loving and training practice from all the inmates. Though not really interested in toys, she loves to dig into a Kong with treats. She's very food-motivated, which also encourages her to train and please more! This girl's sweetness and prancing little demeanor catches everyone's attention and their hearts.

Gracie is quite a charmer with her beautiful big brown eyes, and she melts her handler's heart. This girl is starting to relax more and will now lie on her bed and roach to be loved on. She loves her walks with her handler, enjoying all the sights and smells the outdoor parts of the compound have to offer. She also enjoys visiting the education building and heel walks well. Though indoors she can get a little "Scooby" on the floors, she will walk it out. She is still quite food driven and tends to jump up for her food. Her handler corrects her and is working through this behavior. Her training progress is good. She is waiting well and doing all the basics, too. They are focussing on her stay command at the moment. Gracie has a great temperament around other dogs and is very sweet and loving. She seems fascinated by the new batch of tiny dogs and her handler is keeping her on a short leash for now. On socializing sessions she's fun, listens for her name and will come as called. The dorm residents enjoy her and she spends time with them day and night.

Gracie has truly turned out to be such a smart, quick learner, and most of all a prancer! She has the cutest heel walk as she prances with her head high, enjoying the outdoors. Gracie absolutely loves walking and exploring her surroundings. As far as her training is going, she's doing all her basics with a great wait. Her handler is now working on stay with her. She's quite food driven, so making her stay and not jump around as mealtime comes is part of her handler's list. Gracie went for her first overnight and her alternate handler says she was a joy to be with. Gracie will grab your heart with her beautiful eyes and loving spirit. She was patient and trusting when introduced to new environments. In the library and in church she was calm and quiet, though wide-eyed and curious! She also enjoyed a massage during her overnight away and just lying in the bed area, visiting. What a special "little lady"!

08/11/13

The residents love Gracie already and spend lots of time with her, training and loving on her. She's a great girl and charming. Her commands are progressing nicely - she's super smart. She's doing well with her heel walking, the pulling much reduced. Gracie loves the smell of outdoors, not to mention all the smells that go with it! In the dorm she has fun socializing and visiting as she roams around. Sometimes she'll chase a toy. She absolutely loves her food and tends to get very excited coming out of her kennel for her breakfast. Her handler is working her through this with correcting. Gracie has a little stubbornness in her, but is just sweet as can be.

Gracie is quite sassy, smart, alert and intune with her surroundings.  Gracie is quite food driven which her inmate is using to her advantae in her training.  She is super excited when she exits her kennel and looks for food.  Her inmate is working to condition her through this issue by having her wait in a calm state when she exits.  Gracie is super smart and learns quickly.

She does the "bed" command with just a hand signal now.  She knows her name and kennel very well.  Her handler has begun scooping her for the "sit" command.  She is a bit reluctant but will soon catch on!

Gracie is a little firecracker with spunk.  She has a sweet side to her with those beautiful brown eyes.  She is loving the squeaky toys.  Her inmate and her bedmates play the "here" game with her which is both fun and productive.  She's great and they all love her to pieces!

First Impressions - 07/28/13

Ale Gracie, now called "Gracie" is very small and cute as a button.  Her tail wags as she approaches and is curious of everyone and her surroundings.  Gracie has adjusted well to her new surroundings, especially her kennel.  She sleeps like a baby in there!

She has a good appetite and "hurrys" with no problem.  She is sweet, loving, and lots of fun.  Her inmate is looking forward to the next few weeks of training and loving on her.   She's very food driven which will help with her training!

Everyone adores her already!!
