This week Final Act was wonderful: he did all of his commands without treats when being reviewed.  He loves to be outside and when done walking or training, the kiddie pool is his favorite cooling-off place.  He’s very obedient and pays really good attention to his handler.  Walks around the courtyard where the horticultural work takes place have been part of his daily routine - he’s learned to heel walk really well.  Final Act has come such a long way in his time at the prison and his handler says he is an awesome dog.

Final Act is making super progress.  He knows all his commands and performs them really well, with only occasional distractions!  His trainer is still working on stay and here a little more with him.  Final Act gets plenty of exercise and goes through his commands in all different environments.  How far he has come!  He has much more confidence.  His handler says throughout his training and socialization he has never shown any aggression at all towards people or dogs.

7/22/12

Final Act has had another good week. He’s an awesome boy and is doing really well with his commands.  He sits for his food morning and evening and even gives kisses.

Final Act really enjoys being outside and walking the big track followed by a cool down in the kiddie pool.

His trainer says he is a really smart boy and that he continues to do great with each week that passes.

7/15/12

Final Act’s trainer says he is the best. He does all of his commands now without treats. He is very smart, and catches on really fast.

He doesn’t show any interest in toys, and likes to just chill out and lay around. However, he really loves going outside, and goes to work at horticulture with his trainer every day, and sits on his blanket in the shade under the tree in her garden.

After Final Act has been walking awhile, he loves to wade in the pool to cool down. His trainer says he is an awesome dog and has brought her a lot of happiness.

7/8/12

Final Act has shown wonderful progress since he arrived at the prison. He does all of his commands without treats, and is doing very well with stairs. However, he does still need a little work with his stay, here, and heel commands. He is a very smart dog, and a fast learner.

His trainer says he is a great dog and he loves to go with her to work at horticulture where they do a lot of training together. She tries to get him out at least four times a week to exercise on the field as he loves it so much.

Final Act is otherwise a bit of a couch potato. He gets on with all the inmates and staff, as well as all dogs, big and small, and shows no signs of aggression or separation anxiety.

7/1/12

Final Act has done really well this last week and is getting so much more confident. He’s the best!  He is doing great with his commands and though some tasks still need some work, he has mastered climbing up and down stairs.

He loves to walk on the rec. and is taken out there every day as well as being taken for one mile walks 4 times a week.  He loves to be outside, and he got to run and play off the leash for the first time this week. It was all new to him, and when he decided to run, his handler couldn’t believe how fast he was.

He still shows absolutely no signs of aggression, whether it be to people or other dogs. His trainer says he is a wonderful boy.

6/24/12

Final Act is coming along well with his commands, particularly heel, wait, bed, and kennel. He can be a little stubborn sometimes but is making progress.  One thing he has learned quickly: he’s started sitting for dinner without being told to do so!

Final Act is coming out of his shell: last week he was getting more comfortable with his new environment and with another week this originally quite timid hound has been relaxing and finding his place.  His trainer says he’s a really good boy, always calm and never aggressive - an awesome dog.

6/17/12

Final Act is a very laid back, easy-going and loving dog.  He also loves his food!  He's becoming more comfortable with his surroundings.   He does a really good heel, and kennel, along with the wait command. His trainer believes he will be sitting on his own within the next few days. Overall, he is coming along well with his commands.

Final Act gets along with everyone and has shown absolutely no aggression with his fellow greyhounds or with the labrador puppies at the facility.  He had a great playtime with the other greyhounds the other night!

06/10/12

Final Act has come along well in his training this last week; he’s working on the wait and kennel commands and is learning to sit!  He is a very loving dog and loves to be petted.

So far he’s shown no interest in toys, but instead really enjoys being outside.  One of his favorite things to do is to accompany his trainer when she goes to horticulture.  He loves to lie there on his blanket under a tree and watch the world go by.  Then he’s in dog heaven!
