Ready To Go Home

Rojo passed his graduation test and is ready to go to his new home and forever family!  His inmate trainer will still keep working with him on his commands up to the day he leaves.  He will be sad to see Rojo go.  He is such a great dog!

Rojo's trainer would like to cover some very important points about his training:  First of all, Rojo is very treat motivated.  He loves his snacks and treats!  He will work for the smallest kibble just as fast as he will for liver treat or jerky snack.  Keep training short and fun.  Rojo is a a little shy, but once he bonds with you his personality will blossom and he will be your best buddy for life.

Rojo is a wonderful dog and his trainer is going to miss him, but he knows he will make a great addition to someone's family.

It's Time For Swap Week

Rojo spent the week with an alternate inmate trainer for swap week.  His alternate trainer says that he enjoyed the week with this great boy.  He says that Rojo is a sweet laid back Greyhound.

Rojo performed all of his basic commands as well as the extras “kiss” and “show me love” with hand signal or verbal cues.  Rojo’s temporary inmate trainer says that he believes that Rojo is going to make his forever family very happy!

Making The Grade

Rojo is doing great!  It’s hard to believe that another week of training has come and gone!  His inmate trainer is proud to report that Rojo passed his pre-graduation test with flying colors!  He even preformed his commands for other people without a problem!

His inmate trainer says that Rojo bonded with his training team easily.  He says that Rojo is a very sweet and loving boy who works hard to make his human happy.  He believes that Rojo is going to make his new forever family very happy!

Your Next Best Friend

Over the weekend Rojo ran through all of his basic commands without treats.  Rojo did all of them exceptionally well, and his inmate trainer is very pleased with his progress and how far he has come so far.  He is proud of Rojo and is loving the time he has spent with him.

Rojo's trainer will continue to run through the basic commands over the remainder of his training.  He wants Rojo to be sharp as a tack on his commands when he meets his forever family.  Take a look at this handsome boy!

Rojo is such a wonderful dog and companion.  He is very loving and adores human affection and attention.  He loves to play with his trainer and is also happy to just lay on a bed beside him.  He can be your best friend and buddy.  Rojo is the kind of dog you can build a long rewarding relationship with that just gets better with time.

One Relaxed Sweet Boy

Another week has flown by!  Rojo’s inmate trainer is proud to report that Rojo is doing great! He knows all of his basic commands and continues to improve daily!

Last week they worked on jump and it only took Rojo a couple of days to get it all figured out! His inmate trainer plans to spend the next week reinforcing all of the basic commands a couple of times a day.  Once he’s satisfied with Rojo’s proficiency he will move on to learning some extras.

Rojo is a very relaxed and sweet boy.  He enjoys pleasing his human and hasn’t been aggressive in any way over anything.  His inmate trainer says that Rojo is a wonderful companion who loves to be at his side whether it’s walking or watching TV.  Rojo loves attention and his trainer says that he is thoroughly enjoying his time with this amazing boy!

Shining Personality

With another week under his belt, Rojo is doing great with his commands. He is a little hesitant with the "jump" command, but with encouragement and yummy treats he will do it.  His inmate trainer will spend extra time this week on the "jump" command, and will keep re-working and re-enforcing all of the other basic commands.  His trainer knows he will be proficient with all of them in no time.

Rojo's personality has really started to shine and he's such a loving Greyhound.  He plays well with the other dogs and is not dominating at all.  He does very well with being petted and loved on, and doesn't even mind being hugged around the neck.  He is a very laid back, relaxed boy and would be a great addition to any family!

Great Recall

So another week has past with Rojo and his personality is really coming out.  He is such a sweet and happy dog.  He loves attention and human affection.  He knows his name really well, and responds to the "here" command without any issues.  He has also gotten better about playing with toys and is learning how to be a wonderful pet.  He loves to run and play outside and gets along great with the other dogs.

Rojo is learning the basic commands.  So far he has learned "sit", "bed", "heel", "leave it", "wait", "here" and his name.  In the upcoming week his trainer plans to work on "down", "jump" and willcontinue to work on the "sit" command.  His inmate trainer keeps his training sessions short, as he gets a little distracted, and needs the breaks.  Rojo gets a play session after training to keep things fun.

Check back next week to see how things are going with Rojo, the very loving, obedient, playful, great all-round greyhound!

Happy And Proud Boy

Rojo is a sweet, happy boy and loves to play.  Although he loves to play he also calms easily, which is a good thing.  He seems to be a very proud dog, so bonding with him is very important.  He wants to please his human.

Rojo is getting along very well here and is really coming out of his shell.  He is doing great with his basic commands, but is struggling a bit with "sit" and "down".  All those muscles make it harder for a greyhound to sit.  His trainer's goal is to have him "sitting" and "downing" by the end of the week.  Once has has those two perfected, his trainer will reinforce all of the basic commands and work on "jump" and some extras.

Next week his trainer will work on the "jump" command.  Rojo is a very loving dog and is enjoying his retirement life!  Check him out!

Ready To Learn

Rojo is getting along very well in the SCG pod at the prison.  After one week he is "heeling", laying on his bed, waiting in doorways and playing with toys.  He is a very happy, sweet boy and loves running around outside with the other greyhounds.  His personality is coming out as he gets more comfortable to his new life called retirement."

This week Rojo's inmate trainer will work on the commands he already knows and also introduce "sit", "down" and "stay".  He knows Rojo will have "heel", "bed", "stay", "sit", "down", "wait" and leash walking down pat in the next couple weeks.  He's a smart dog and seems to pick up the concept quickly.

Check back next week to see how things are going with Rojo.  His inmate trainer is enjoying his time with this loving grey and looks forward to their training sessions.

He's A Beauty

This is Rojo's first week at the prison with his trainer and so far, he is adjusting just fine.  His trainer decided Rojo (Spanish for red) fit him because of his deep red coat. He's a beauty!  Rojo seems to be very laid back and sweet.  This week they are working on leash walking and getting him accustomed to his new environment.  So far so good.

Over the next week his trainer plans to work on "heel", "wait", "bed", "kennel", and his name.  These give him a good foundation to start off his training session.  So far Rojo hasn't shown any issues of being scared or overly nervous.  His inmate trainer thinks he will adapt just fine and be a great dog to work with!  Stay tuned...
