Training Update: Week Six

Bailey is a happy girl who gives lots of kisses.  She also loves to receive love and is gentle with her play.  She loves her stuffies more than anything in the world.  Bailey loves to run with her running group, but prefers to play with toys.

She knows all her commands and is staying longer and longer in the sit command.  Bailey is learning the shake command and will be working on learning the shake and down command without treats.  Her trainer uses a combo of toys and food as rewards at the end of training session, probably more toys than food for Bailey.

Training Update: Week Four

Bailey has come out of her shell. She is perky and fun, especially in the morning and loves to play with a stuffy. She's confident enough to even play by herself with her toys, but loves for others to toss it around for her to chase. She is very gentle when playing and all her toys still have their squeakers in tact!

Bailey is doing well in her training. She has learned to sit on command (well, most of the time), walks very politely on her leash, waits at the door for you to walk through first and will come when you call her. She is currently working on the down and stay commands.

Bailey is a joy to be around and loves to cuddle. She lights up a room with her happy attitude. During visitation she was happy to see everyone and enjoyed the hugs and pets from the kids. She walks around with a smile on her face all the time.

A Morning Dog

Bailey loves to wake up in the morning playing with a stuffy. Her trainer loves to hear that little squeek, squeek as she entertains herself while the rest of the dorm and dogs get ready for the day. It seems that she is a morning dog, happiest and most eager to work in the morning, so her trainer does the majority of her training exercises with her first thing. Everyone wants a kiss from Bailey, and she is eager to give you one - especially first thing in the morning.

Stairs Aren't So Scary

Bailey was very reluctant to try to go up and down the training stairs at the facility upon her arrival at the prison. Going up wasn't so bad, but coming down was a lot scarier. With a little practice and a little kibble as bait, Bailey has mastered the stairs. They practice them daily and she has no problem now with this one time scary obstacle. Onward and upward!

Life in Training - Week One

Upon arrival at the training center, Sunny was named Bailey by her trainer. She just thought she looked like one. Bailey is a beautiful, loving dog. She loves people and trys so hard to please you. She goes to school with her trainer every day and lays on her blanket patiently next to her chair. She is so good. She deserves a really good and loving home.

She's started learning her commands after only one day. She will have no trouble graduating with flying colors. Check back here next week to see how Bailey is doing with her latest commands!
