Yes, I was cutting a watermelon for myself and a piece dropped on the floor. As luck would have it, there was a dog nearby to scarf it up. In fact, it was Misty. Soon the others came into the kitchen to see what the foster girl was doing. It seems that dogs have a keen awareness when others around them are eating, whether that be other dogs or humans!!
I couldn't resist and gave them each a bite of the luscious fruit. Sure enough, all of my hounds liked it too and they wanted more!! It's always fun to watch them try new fruit (of course no grapes as they are toxic).
By the way, the watermelon was seedless so no seeds in their tummies to grow watermelon vines!! :)

I'm doing Weight Watchers and I purchased one of the little orange stuffie dolls they call Hungry. Actually I have two - one here at work and one at home on the fridge. The other day when Misty came in from her potty break she spotted Hungry on the fridge and jumped up to get him. Luckily she didn't make it. Oddly enough, she hasn't paid him any attention since. Too funny. If they weren't so darn expensive I'd get her one as a parting gift! :)
Yes, dear Misty goes to her forever home on Saturday. I know she'll just love her new family. They have a beautiful home and an awesome yard that is huge. And I know she'll be spoiled rotten!!

Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2:40PM Little Misty has found the two huge baskets full of stuffies and has enjoyed squeaking them, tossing them, and de-furring them! Yep, she likes to pull their fur out. Too funny but at least she's having a good time! Here she is surrounded by a few of her newfound friends.
