Yesterday morning I was getting ready for work and Rigby was laying on a dog bed in my bedroom with my four girl Greyhounds. Out of the blue he started barking and even growling on occasion. I didn't have a clue what he was carrying on about. My Lucy sometimes will do just that and I joke that she sees "dead people". So, I assumed Rigby might be doing the same!!

This behavior went on for about ten minutes, all the while my girls were looking at Rigby like he had lost his mind! Well, I thought he had, too!! When I finished blow drying my hair, I ventured out of the bathroom and started walking toward the hallway. Everyone followed, except for Rigby. I coaxed him a bit and then he got up and started toward me only to start walking very, very slowly as he got closer to the hallway. I thought, what is he scared of? He was hunched down even, in "hunt mode"! It was hysterical. I looked around and saw that he was intent on "the duck". He approached it with great caution as if he had just discovered it for the first time and it was a stuffy from outer space.

Once he got closer to it and he realized it wasn't the buggeyman, he was his old self once more. It was so funny - I laughed at him until I was purple!! Silly boy!

Rigby truly is quite comical and he often has me (and the girls) in stitches. What a sweetheart he is!! He will be truly missed when we find his forever family!!

Rigby and the Santa Parade

Rigby will be attending the Kennesaw Santa Parade on Saturday, December 3rd in downtown Kennesaw. The parade starts at 1 p.m. Second Chance Greyhounds is about mid-ways into the parade route. I believe we are in the 59th position.

In any event, if you are interested in meeting dear Mr. Rigby, come on out and see us!! We'd love to meet you, too!

Rigby the Play Monkey

Last night I was putting the finishing touches on the Christmas tree which is a 10 foot artificial, pre-lit tree. I had the lights in the living room on and all the dogs had gathered, I guess to hang out and watch me!! Rigby was hysterical. He came in, looked up at the top of the Christmas tree, and then something must have clicked in his brain because he was a wild, play monkey, bouncing around the living room, squatting into the play bow position - all in front of his dear Greyfriend Sami, trying to entice her to play with him. She just stood there staring into space, totally ignoring him. They have the funniest relationship, those two. She eventually grabbed the Kong Wubba bear and tore off into the back bedroom. Of course Rigby followed her and the playing commenced. I didn't stop what I was doing to supervise but did listen intently to be sure they didn't get too out of hand. Those two love playing together and are aptly matched.

I do know that Sami will miss Rigby when he goes to his forever home but I also know that Rigby will LOVE having his own family to love!

Rigby and Sami

Foster Rigby and my girl Sami have developed quite a relationship. They adore each other actually and it's quite funny to watch them every morning playing. Its most like watching two dinosaurs go at it and it looks a bit vicious at times, but its all (supervised) play!!
