Pluto has a forever home

Final update for anyone following this blog.  Pluto was adopted tonight by a loving family.  We look forward to seeing him at future meet and greets.  He will certainly be missed.

Best of luck to Pluto and his new family.  :o)

Sitting with excitement

Well, he's certainly learned to sit and everytime he thinks I have something in my hands, he immediately squats.  haha

My girls know that they need to sit before I put their food down for them and this has thankfully rubbed off on Pluto.  I feed him away from the girls because Tiny is a bit paranoid, and as I crossed the room, he squated with every step I took...eagar to get his dinner.  :oP

He's such a good boy.  I hope everything works out tomorrow with the potential adopters because he really deserves a loving, forever home.  We're going to miss him!  :(

Great News!

We are all very excited that Pluto is going to meet his potential forever family on Friday afternoon!  YAY!!  They evidently have several dogs including a playful Golden Retriever who is Pluto's age.  He will be SOOO happy to have someone to run and play with! :o)

I will be taking him to the vet on Friday morning to have the staples removed from his nip/tuck, so he'll be all set to go.

On a side note, he is learning to sit and did it 3 times in a row this evening...and one time I didn't even have a treat in hand.  He's such a fast learner!!  He does prefer sitting on carpet or a bed to the hard wood...his feet tend to slide out to the sides when he tries the non-carpeted surfaces.  (hehe)  He's also coming down the stairs with no fear now.  He's still a little oafish going up them, but he does just fine.  Practice makes perfect!

Yippeee...I'm retired!

Pluto is certainly taking to his retirement...err, lack of living in a racing kennel (since he wasn't much of a racer).  He follows me all around the house and loves attention.  Today was his first full day alone since my husband and I worked from home yesterday.  We kenneled him and put the girls in the room with him, and he was happy as a clam.  As long as he has his pack or his people, he's a happy, goofy boy.

There isn't much that scares or startles him.  He is learning the word 'No' and is progressing on his sitting skills.  Last night, he sat on the 'screaming monkey' toy, which proceeded to shriek...again, and again, and again.  Pluto looked around to see what was up, but then settled down on top of the shrieking monkey despite the noise underneath his rear end.  I was laughing so hard, I could pop.

Callie is beyond jealous and has tried to take back her former kennel.  She also steals the toys and takes them upstairs to my closet.  It's probably because Pluto seems to favor our other female (Tiny) who is a foot shorter than him.  He gets nose to nose with her, his tail goes straight up into the air and waggles around.  It's adorable!   He is big and strong, and not real graceful...but what can you expect from a boy.  <wink>

Waiting on my forever home...
