The Social Butterfly
Monday, April 20, 2009 at 4:38AM This weekend Lola proved to everyone what a social butterfly she really is.
Saturday morning we went to the Big Shanty Festival in Kennesaw with a few of our Greyhound friends. We strolled the festival chatting up Greyhound adoption with everyone who stopped to pet the dogs. Lola ahd a blast kissing on everyone!! Quite a few business cards were distributed so hopefully Second Chance Greyhounds will receive a few applications.
Saturday evening we had an Easter Egg Hunt and Cookout at my home. There were 14 Greyhounds in attendance. Lola really did show her stuff and had everyone wondering if she had hunted Easter Eggs before - she definitely has a knack for this - who knew?!! She was so funny, rolling the eggs along with her muzzle, then cracking them open and devouring the contents. I have a quick video of this that I will hopefully get on her blog tonight. It's absolutely hilarious!
We did go to bed early Saturday night because we had another gig on Sunday - a meet and greet at the Sprint for Cancer 5k/10k Race. We were up VERY early Sunday morning to get to Atlantic Station to set up our booth and get settled. Soon after the race concluded, there were scads of very interested folks surrounding our booth. Of course, the Greyhounds were a bit hit as they usually are at any public outing! I really think we'll get a few applications from this event as well.
All in all, it was a busy weekend for the humans and the hounds. I think everyone is happy Monday is here so we can all rest up for next weekend! Lola, too! She said being a socialite is very exhausting. :)
