Tidbits About Lola
Friday, April 17, 2009 at 9:50AM - Lola is definitely a "people" dog. She loves her humans and really doesn't seem to "need" the other Greyhounds.
- Lola DOES smile. I didn't doubt Kim at all but was absolutely thrilled when she smiled last night after dinner. She seems to do this when she is VERY happy. I will try to get this in a video or in a photo.
- Lola loves fruit. As I mentioned before, she love strawberries but now I know she likes bananas, too. I put these in her Kong yesterday and she devoured it. This is good - very good!
- Lola is very affectionate doling out kisses to everyone, including my own Greyhounds Sugar and Lucy. I've caught her kissing each of them! Oh, and Lucy is very jealous of Lola when she is giving me kisses! She immediately will come to me and try to butt in to give me her kisses instead as if I should ONLY get kisses from her and no one else! Funny!
- Lola seems to have a favorite toy and once that is deemed her favorite, will always come back to it time and time again. At my house it seems to be a very dirty and well used stuffie that looks like a carrot that is about 4 years old and, oddly enough, still squeaks! It's her new BFF.
- Lola would rather not have a bath - EVER!! All I can say here is thank God you don't have to bathe Greyhounds very often! She does, however, like manicures and pedicures! :)
- Lola is a good eater who loves her kibble. I've been feeding her Purina Pro Plan Turkey and Barley samples I obtained at a dog show I was at last weekend. She seems to like it but I think I will probably switch her to Innova Evo, which is what I feed my girls.
- Lola is not big on being outside. She will go out and do her thing but she usually wants back in soon thereafter. On the other hand, my three love to lay in the yard sunbathing!
- As mentioned before, Lola loves Orvis bead beds which is somewhat surprising since most dogs are afraid of the noise the bead beds make. Not Lola, she loves them!
- After meals, Lola "retires" to her Orvis bead bed to rest. Kim, did you teach her this?
I'll try to get some pictures this weekend as we'll be out and about enjoying the sunshine with our Greyhound friends at various local events!! It seems Lola is becoming quite the socialite!!
More later!!

Haha! Yep, that's my girl! Sounds like she picked up right where she left off at my house. She does have the most wonderful personality around people...always keeps you on your toes!
