Friday, December 18, 2009 at 4:10PM All I want for Christmas is my forever home. I've been a real good girl this year. I've been sweet to my foster siblings - the ones my size and the little ones too!! I'm very friendly to everyone I meet. Santa, I just want a forever family that I can love and play with. Please help my Christmas wish come true.

Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 10:06PM Today Libby attended her first meet and greet at Harley Davidson in Cartersville. I must say that she is a GREYT meet and greet dog! From the time we arrived, Libby made it known that she was on the hunt to find her forever home. As people would enter the dealership, she would stop and look at them, wag her tail and patiently wait for them to approach her. If someone was a little timid about coming over, Libby took it upon herself to go and meet them showing off her affectionate and lovable personality.
We were stationed near the front of the dealership inside the front door and Libby surely made it a point to introduce herself to each and every person who came into the dealership today. Needless to say, she enjoyed every ounce of love and attention that she received. Her personality is as charming as can be and her little tail wagged the entire day. We discovered that she really likes to stand next to people with her head resting on their thigh because her ears and head are at perfect level for an ear scratch or head rub.
After seeing the excitement in her eyes today as she met one person after another, I know that she is even more excited about and looking forward to finding her forever home! I am positive that she will greet her forever family with a constant tail wag and smile every day.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 3:21PM Liberty, who we are now calling Libby, is making great progess! Over the past week we have been working with her on coming up and going down the stairs. She has learned this skill over the past week, as we took it easy until her stitches could be removed and her incision healed from her spay. Here she is showing off her advanced skills...
Now off to teach her how to sit. Libby is working hard to learn new skills to impress her forever family with. Just think, your home might be the perfect forever home for her!
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 7:56PM Liberty has officially retired and is loving life off the track!
Late Sunday evening, Robert and I met Clif to get Liberty, who spent her entire day traveling from Birmingham and anticipating what life off the track would be like. The moment I saw Liberty, I fell in love with her markings, as well as her personality. Liberty is a white female with a black patch over her left eye and black ticking all over. Her pictures do not do her justice!
It is always exciting to get a dog from the track because there are many things as a foster parent you get to experience with these hounds for the first time such as climbing stairs and walking on hardwood floors. However, the most rewarding feeling is when you see their personalities blossom right before your eyes as they become more comfortable with their new lifestyle.
Upon her arrival, Liberty conquered the stairs on our back porch without hesitation. I placed her two from paws on the bottom step and he stood at the bottom of the stairs and wiggled her rear end and wagged her tail and then immediately gained the courage to climb up to the top. She then came right back down without ever blinking an eye. She also walks fearlessly on the hardwood floors and does not even seem to be phased by them which is wonderful!
Liberty does great in her crate and I often times find her venturing into her crate without being prompted to do so. She enjoys lounging around the house with her foster siblings, Cotton, Candy, and Cane, and enjoys playing with them and stealing whatever toy they seem to want to play with.
She is a very sweet and quiet girl who adores anyone who is willing to give her a rub. As I watch her laying on her bed right now, I can only imagine that she is dreaming about what her forever home will be like...perhaps it's your home?
