Foster

Rayna has now settled in and has the routines down. She is one happy lady and just loves all the attention she's getting. She's been playing tag and catch the stuffy. She's learned to sleep on her bed and sleeps all night (with a blanket) and is a pure joy. Loves her walks and get's really excited when dad gets home from work. She'll make someone a trueblue companion!

Foster Updates

Rayna has moved into her foster home with another Grey (Penny). She traveled nicely to her new home and was very excited upon arriving. She is truly fascinated by all the new things in a house. She went for a couple of walks and was very curious about all the things she saw. She has met some children and was eager to greet them and she also has made a new dog friend whom she loves to take walks with.

The first night was a bit hard as she's trying to figure out all these comfy beds. She had a bit of a restless night but has adjusted beautifully! She's been playing with toys in the yard and loves to sun bathe. She has been doing real well with her commands and loves all the attention she can get. She is fitting in very nicely and will make someone a very fine pet. More to come soon!

030611 Training Updates

Rayna's trainer says "this is starting to be extremely emotional for me."  Rayna's personality has really started coming out the last few weeks.  She shows her trainer so much about herself every day.  She is becoming very playful, like even barking at other dogs to get them to play with her.  She likes to play fetch, too.  And she's doing stairs now!!  Yeppie!!  She has a little trouble still, but after a few tries, she does them just fine.  However, you still have to stand beside her and lead her up.  Going down is no problem at all!

Rayna has also shown her trainer that she knows to walk on the left of her when they walk.  If she puts her on her right side, she will push on her trainer as if she's leaning on her.  But in reality she wants her trainer to move so she can put herself on the left side.  She is also showing her belly when you pet her and she's laying down.  She won't do it when you ask her to "show me the belly" but she'll do it on her own.

She has really shown her trainer that she is very comfortable with her and in her environment.  She loves everyone and the CCI puppies!!

022711 Training Updates

Rayna has been a very good girl this week!!  They were working on a new command "lap" where she sits and puts both of her paws on your lap and takes a treat.  It's very cute and she almost has it!!  She is a bit unsure about jumping up on her trainer's legs with her paws as she knows that jumping up on someone is not allowed so her trainer has to let her know that it's okay only when a command is given!

She has really started to calm down alot and has grown very attached to her trainer.  She looks for her and misses her when she's gone.  She's such a sweet one!!

022011 Training Updates

Rayna is doing really well.  She has been accompanying her trainer to school and is learning to relax in class and lay on her blanket.  She also spent a weekend with her alternate trainer returning with rave reports.  She exhibited no separation anxiety!  When her regular trainer picked her up on Sunday, she was happy to see her.  They were both happy to see each other!  She really is a beautiful Greyhound, her trainer says.  She is very happy and even smiles!!

They are still working on the stairs though.  She has used the kibble on every stair trick which does work.  She will go up them but she has to be coaxed.

She is doing very good with playing outside with toys.  She can get very excited during play, which is normal, but she will calm when told by her trainer to do so.

Her trainer says she has become very attached and she loves her dearly.  She is a wonderful Greyhound!
