New Home

Ms. Lena, now known as Bella Lena, flew to her new home in Houston Texas this past Wednesday.  Here she is in her travel crate waiting to board the plane.  She did fabulously, I am told by her new Mom, Ms. Helen Bolick.  She absolutely adores her as do her three Ragdoll cats!  Bella Lena loved my Ragdoll, Savannah, so we know this is the perfect home for her where she will be so very loved and spoiled rotten.  She is so deserving and I know Ms. Helen is enjoying Bella Lena very much!

Lena the Kisser

Yes, sweet Lena has begun giving kisses - on your face!  They're little kisses and sweet kisses, but kisses nonetheless.  She's very careful with them too and doesn't give them to just anybody.  Maybe she'll save some for you!!

Lena and the Disappearing Stuffie

Yesterday I bought home two new stuffies from Petsmart.  Lena loves stuffies so I gave her the first one and then one of my other girls the second one.  Of course, EVERYONE wanted the first one!  Take a look . . . and be sure to catch the look on Lena's face at the end.  Priceless, absolutely priceless!

Lena Update

Sweet Lena continues to do well with my pack.  She absolutely loves squirrel hunting now, thanks to the expert teachings of Lucy, one of my other Greyhounds.  They run outside and just stand and stare up in the trees.  Every now and then, they'll spot a squirrel and will jump up and down in anticipation that it will magically land on the ground for them to chase.  No such luck, thus far, but they are usually muzzled so I'm thinking it would be pretty hard for them to catch one at this point.  Nonetheless, the thrill of the hunt is there and it does keep them occupied for hours on end.

Lena has learned that at dinnertime, she stays inside while the others go outside to eat their chicken backs.  No raw for her, she is eating Innova Evo.  It's funny, they will all gather around the back door but Lena will slowly back out of the crowd and will just stand there.  She knows without me even telling her!

She is very smart, loves to toss stuffies in the air and catch them, and totally ignores the cat.  She knows which dog bed is hers at night and will go there without any direction.  If someone happens to be in "her" bed, she will just stand there and stare at them.  I usually intervene and have that dog move to another one, just to keep things in order.  She also sleeps throughout the night without a peep!

Lena's sit has turned into a down so I'm working with her to bring herself back up into the sit position.  She is too cute though when you ask her to sit.  She immediately plops herself on the foor waiting for her treat.

She'll definitely make someone very happy and hopefully one day soon!  She's a real sweetie!!

She's Back!

Sweet Lena is back with me for a short period of time.  It's funny, she came right in, knew where the back door was, knew where her food bowl was, her bed, toys, etc., and this morning she went right into her crate.  She truly is a love and who is very deserving of her own forever home and family.

If you're interested in seeing her, she'll be at the Marietta Farmer's Market this Saturday from 9-11 a.m., if we don't get rained out!  Let's hope for nice weather.

In the meantime, I'll try to get some video of her playing.  As Wendy said, she really is a happy girl.
