Portia’s handlers say this is a sad but happy time for them.  Portia is going to her forever home and although her handlers have grown to love and cherish her during their short time with Portia and will miss her, they are truly happy that she is going to be going home to her forever family.  She has already come a long way since she arrived and is clearly a smart girl.  Her handlers know she will bring so much joy to her new family and that they will fall in love with her as quickly as they did.  By the way, they say: she loves, loves, loves squeaky toys and also enjoys a little warm water in her kibble!

8/19/12

Portia Armour is very sweet and loves to be petted.  She’s gradually making progress and knows her name and the wait command.  She has formed a bond with her two handlers and they are working on her basic commands with her as she gets used to her new environment in these early days. Portia loves her squeaky toys.  She’s very curious and her handlers say she’s so lovable and will make her new family very happy.

8/12/12 - First Impressions

CTW Portia Armour loves to lie on the bed and gets up there so that she can watch everything going on around her.  She seems very curious about her new surroundings.  She loves being around the other hounds.  In the couple of days she’s been there, she’s been responsive already to training and correction.  Bathing, nail clipping and ear cleaning were all met with calm by this little girl and she doesn’t have any problem being hugged either!  Her handlers are really looking forward to working with her.
